Prayer changes things: Nehemiah

Nehemiah 6:9 says: They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands”.

Doing something significant in the midst of people who don’t like you or people who oppose a good work you are doing, can be heart aching and very discouraging. Nonetheless, there is a way out, and it is by prayer.

Nehemiah in his days had to gather people who were at the verge of giving up to rebuild the broken walls and gates of Jerusalem. Prayer became their mainstay in this herculean task.

Prayer gave them favour to have the materials needed for the mission, and prayer gave them courage in the face of accusations and intimidations from their opposers.
The walls were finally rebuilt with the gates fixed. In fact, prayers coupled with work brought them victory at the end of the day.

You see, you don’t have to give up on your God-given purpose because of opposition. In everything Pray!
God will see you through till every foe is vanquished and your mission is accomplished.

Read: Nehemiah 6:16 “When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God”
