John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work”
There is nothing much more rewarding in this world like working for the Lord. The Bible says we must always abound in the work of God. See 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
You see, every Christian has been called to work for God. This is a general call for all Christians. In fact, you don’t need any spectacular encounter with an angel before you can work for God. All you need is a teaching that will equip you to function and your absolute faithfulness. In 2 Timothy 2:2, Paul admonished Timothy, his beloved son in the Lord to work for God and also commit the same mandate to faith men who will do same. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).
It is important to know that, your pastor, teacher, prophet, apostle and evangelist puts you in the right frame so that you can do the work of God. The Bible says they perfect or equip the believers to work for God. Ephesians 4:12 says “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”.
You see, every Christian has a primary call to reach out to the unsaved world. Jesus said, “Go and preach to every creature”. See Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. You have a work to do as a believer. Don’t be a pill pew warmer in Church. Do everything possible to do God’s work.
Just like any other work, give your time, energy and engage all your skills to work for the Lord. It is rewarding than any other work. In fact, it comes with a blessing.
