POSITION YOURSELF FOR A BLESSING

Deuteronomy 30:16
“For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess”

Every child of God has a certain degree of blessing. One may call it a measure of blessing. But that is not all there is in the Christendom. There are levels of blessings or different kinds of blessings. These higher levels of blessings are actually “provoked”. That means, it is a “resultant” blessing.

Thus, until you do somethings or behave in a certain way in your dealings with God, you can’t attain or have some tremendous degree of blessings.

In securing the favour of God to be blessed greatly in your life as a Christian, you must make obedience your hallmark. Although, many downplay of this simple attribute, it is the key to walking in greater dimensions of blessings. In his hymn, Trust and Obey, John H. Sammis (1887) wrote “when we walk with the Lord in obedience to his word, He sheds glory on our way” .
Deuteronomy 30:16 also says “For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.

Another way by which you can distinguished yourself from all others when it comes to being blessed incredibly is when you can sacrifice for the things of God. Most people don’t break the roof or ceiling when it comes to being blessed financially or in terms of their health. They barley get along. But you can by sacrifice make yourself secure a financial blessing or a great divine security when it comes to being blessed by the Lord.

In Philippians 3:7-8, the Apostle Paul recounts the sacrifice made for the course of Christ, “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ”. This price didn’t go unrewarded. He was blessed with such wisdom and insight that many in his days didn’t have. God preserved his life in many trials beyond human imagination. For instance, how can one survive the sting of a venom viper if not for divine protection (Acts 28:1-6). But all these came because of the sacrifice he made for the course of God.

Another way to secure an uncommon blessing is by associating with the godly. The Bible says: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” (Psalm 1:1) We see from the above scripture three ways by which you can position yourself to blessed.

Not walking in ungodly counsels, avoiding the “way of the sinners” and the “seat of the scornful will position you to access greater blessings. You see, no one just gets blessed. Some blessings come by a certain level of consecration to the Lord.
Beloved, position yourself well to prosper in life.
