2 Chronicles 20:1,5-7,22 “It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten“
The challenges of life are not limited to some particular people. Challenges comes to everyone irrespective of your creed, colour, status, age or gender.
You see, challenges are not customized to some particular people. The fact that you are not faced with any does not mean it doesn’t exist.
Our opening scripture reveals the emergence of a challenge for King Jehoshaphat. With this new challenge, Jehoshaphat came to a crossroad. His kingdom has been besieged by many armies, knowing that destruction is eminent, he turned to the Lord.
Jehoshaphat’s action of turning to the Lord brought him God’s help.
In his prayer to the Lord, he remembered the Lord of His word, and trusted him to do the impossible as his strength as a King is to no avail in this matter.
Thus he prayed “Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever”.
In the state of helplessness, God’s help come through for him.
The Bible says that “the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten”
