Genesis 3:6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”
Life is full of choices. Each and everyday you have to make a choice to keep going. The choices we make may cut across all spheres of life. Some can be spiritual, social, financial, and moral.
Every choice you make also has its consequences. It can bring a good result or a bad one. This makes choices very delicate. Thus, making a wrong choice can jeopardize your life for good.
The Bible in our opening text shows the choice of Eve in the garden of Eden. Despite the Lord’s specific instruction on what they were to do in the garden, Eve made a choice contrary to what the Lord expected.
Genesis 3:6 says “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”
In fact, her choice was guided by what she saw in the flesh and what she desired nothing more nothing less. Not long after that, the consequences followed. The haven was lost all because of the choice made.
You see, inasmuch as life is full of choices, don’t just make choices without assessing the impart it will have on your life and destiny.
Consider things carefully, especially the word of God and some specific instructions the Lord might have given you before you make any choice in life.
Don’t just make choices because of the present pleasure and satisfaction it will give you. Think beyond temporary or transient pleasures and satisfactions when making choices.
You see, most people have put their life in a disadvantaged position all because of a wrong choice – it could be a choice of a marriage partner, ministry affiliation, work, alliances, etc.
Choices are inevitable in life. But make them wisely so that you can secure your glorious future.
Read: Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live”
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunity to make choices in life. I pray for grace and wisdom not to make choices that will jeopardise my life and destiny. Amen.
