Build a solid character

1 Thessalonians 2:10
“Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe”.

We have no control over a lot of things in life. For instance we don’t get to choose our parents or the circumstances of our birth and upbringing. However, we have the power to choose our character. We create it each time we make choices. That is why you must allow the word of God to inform your choices in life.

Character is more than talk or what we say about ourselves. Anyone can say he has integrity but action is the real indicator of character. Who you are and what you do is determined by your character, hence you can’t separate your character from your actions.

Hence Apostle Paul in making reference to his character said in 1 Thessalonians 2:10;
“Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe”.

He had the confidence in his character knowing very well how his actions never contradicted his sayings of teachings. Your best sermon is your character, preach it well.

You see, how a person deals with circumstances in life tells many things about his character. Crisis doesn’t necessarily make character but it certainly reveals them. The truth is that, it is only in the days of crisis that you would know if you would stick to God’s word or compromise to get comfort.

From today, let God’s word inform your choices and actions. It is one way to build a solid character without blemish.

Read: Philippians 2:15
“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to consistently build a strong character in Christ. Amen
