“You did not choose me, but chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last…”
To bear fruits is a core mandate of the believer. Your call to be a child of God is a call to be productive and get results. You can’t be a Christian without results.
John 15:16 says, “You did not choose me, but chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last…” You see, God expects fruit from you.
To bear fruits is to show forth works and conduct evident of who we are in Christ. Hence, you are not saved to sit and watch what goes on in the Kingdom. It is thus strange to be born again and do nothing in the kingdom. No!
You see, physically and spiritually, there must be manifestations that indicate God’s grace at work in you. The lost should be saved through you: healings and miracles should be seen through you: love should be demonstrated by you. At all cost something about you must bring God glory. That’s what you are called for!
Jesus spoke a parable in Luke 13:6-9, “A certain man . . . said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down’ ”. You see, It is a risk not to bear fruits. That’s why you shouldn’t be an pew warmer in church.
Don’t limit your zealousness to academics and career. Make the same effort to bring results to the kingdom.
God is counting on you because He had ordained you to bear fruits.
Read: Matthew 3:8, “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”
Prayer: Lord, I pray for more grace to dwell deeply in you in order to bear fruit that will last. Amen
