Being Spiritually minded

Romans 8:6
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”

The life of a Christian is a journey; It begins at salvation and ends when we enter heaven, our home. The Christian life is also a spiritual one and hence demands that you grow up spiritually.

Growing up spiritually is what makes you more of a spiritual being than a natural man. To be spiritual is to be mindful of the things of spirit.

Thus, you must make it a priority in life to develop, grow up and to pay attention to your spiritual life. Paying attention to spiritual things is for your own good.

The Bible says “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. (Romans 8:6)

You are always guaranteed of a higher life and peace when you are spiritual.

Being Spiritual puts you on the platform of advantage. It helps you to receive from God.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”. (1 Corinthians 2:14)

Being spiritual also helps you to judge spiritual things precisely. Today, many have wounded themselves because they misjudged spiritual things and blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

The Bible says, “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man”. (1 Corinthians 2:15).

Choose to be Spiritual.

Read: And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:1)

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be more spiritual in this life. Amen

THE QUICKENING POWER OF THE WORD

Psalm 119:25
“my earthly life cleaves to the dust; revive and stimulate me according to Your word!”

Nothing can be compared to the power that is in the word of God. The word of God when believed and spoken releases power that rejuvenates any dead situation.
This is why you must not take God’s word like a “history book”.

God’s word is more than a history book. It is the inspiration of God, in fact, it is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). On this same word, the Bible says, holy men of God declared it as they were moved by the spirit. In teaching the disciples on this timeless truth Jesus said to them “the words that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life.”

Psalm 119:107 says “I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word”. God’s word is a quickening agent. God’s word brings life and revitalization any time we release it into our life and into every situation we find ourselves.

For instance, sick people receive strength and healing upon hearing the word, miracles happen at the proclamation of the word. The word is a genuine source of power. It has what it takes to bring a change. The Bible says the word brings results whenever it is deployed.

See Isaiah 55:10-11: “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”

Be addicted to studying the word. Engage its principles in your daily walk and you will have results in all that you do.
Anytime you are faced with any challenge, go for the word, and make it your daily meditation and confession. This is how to unleash the power in the world.

Read: John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to henceforth make your word my daily meditation and confession. Amen

The deception of “quick money”.

Jeremiah 17:11
As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

Money matters is one “hard nut” to crack especially in this end times. That is not to say, the subject of money matters can’t easily be understood or it is also too difficult to comprehend.

The difficulty in teaching on money matters has to do with the hearers or the recipients of the truth .

You see, when it comes to money, no matter how you hear the truth, until you subscribe or give yourself to it, you will still live contrary to the truth.

Although God has promised in his word to cater for you as a Christian, it is also dependent on you “seeking him first” (Matthew 6:33).

God is not interested in your poverty and neither does your riches also proves that He is God.

When it comes to money, God is not interested in what we have in our bank accounts, mobile wallets or the cash we carry. He is more interested in the source. So let me ask you, “where is the source of your money?”.

Where is your “cash” coming from.

Today, we have numerous get rich quick schemes or “quick money”. It can be from fraud, gambling, lotto, prostitution, or any venture that makes you gets money without ” a genuine work”. That way of gathering riches is wrong. (Jeremiah 17:11).

You may argue or disagree with this points, but you can’t do anything against the truth.

Money, or wealth must be obtained through a God-ordained way. Gather it through a genuine work little by little as you believe God to meet your needs and to also bring an increase in your wealth. ( Proverbs 13:11).

Don’t be carried away by this get rich or get money quick. The truth is, as for the money you may get. But it will be at the expense of your soul.

Your pursuit of quick money will only land you in hell.

Believe God for your finances. Don’t use fraud, don’t use gambling , don’t steal, don’t use any ungodly means.

Read: “Psalm 62:10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that as i engage in legitimate work your grace will abound unto me to prosper financially. Amen

Part company with your past.

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”

The Christian walk is a “forward journey”. It is a walk with God and a walk away from the past life that was sin ruled.
Thus, when you get born again, the world and its pleasures must be behind you and you must put the Lord and “entering into heaven” before you.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation”.
You see, when you get born again, it is not business as usual. The old life, the old sinful deeds, and the evil pleasures you pursued must be abandoned.

You can’t claim you are born again and actively engage in the past sins you once lived in. No! That is a deception and it can send you to hell.

You see, the Church today is in a “strange state”. We have people who participate in church stuffs who still continue in the “past things from which” they claimed they were saved.

Remember that, God saved you, delivered you, and empowered you to live the new life. This is why, you can’t give an excuse for anything. You can’t give an excuse of still living in fornication with a so called ex- boy or girl friend. You can’t give an excuse for your lies, fraud, and etc.

You see, you must be bold and decisive enough to do away with your past. Have no fellowship with your past.
Live the brand new life to the fullest.

You have been called out of darkness into light. Don’t entangle yourself with the affairs of this life. Be fully sold out to the Lord.

Maranatha- Our Lord is Coming!

Read: 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to part way with my past and look forward to being with you in heaven one day.

Keys to building lasting relationships

Ecclesiastes 4:10
“For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth for he hath not another to help him up

Relationships are important. But the ones that last a life time are priceless. You see, keeping the people that God most of the times brings your way demands dedication. This dedication is not just to the person, but some “major principles” or keys on which relationship thrives.

Thus, the success of any relationship whether in the family, the Church, the work place or any human institution is dependent on how we apply the following keys.

The first key we will consider is Love. For any relationship to last a life time, it must be built on love.
When love is in operation, you will always put the interest of others before yours. This selfless virtue makes any form of relationship with people last into the future. Other qualities of love can be found in 1 Corinthians 13:1-8.

The second key is Respect. Respect makes you appreciate and take into account the views of others. Respect therefore prevents you from dishonoring or treating people anyhow.

The third is Trust. You see, relationships will only profit you to the fullest when the element of trust is established. Trust here means making yourself dependable in every situation to the very best of your ability.

Relationships are priceless, and will finally reward when these keys are engaged.

Read: Ecclesiastes 4:10 “For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth for he hath not another to help him up

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to apply the wisdom keys that makes a relationship to last long. Amen

Elements that stands against Faith

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Faith is very important to every child of God. For instance, it is through faith that we are saved. It is also by the power of faith that we can obtain victories in this world. Nonetheless, there are “enemies of faith” you must deal with for your faith to prevail.

The number one enemy of faith is worry or anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of worry, or nervousness. It also means “to be troubled with cares”

Whenever anxiety is at work, it robs you of your joy and faith in God. Anxiety makes you behave as though God is not able. People who are anxious always steps out of faith because they can’t wait for the manifestation of what God has promised. That’s why the Bible says “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God” ( Philippians 4:6)

Another enemy of faith is the “Flesh”. Walking in the flesh is always at war with your faith walk. Your flesh demands that all you do must make sense or be sensual, but faith demands that your actions must be born out from spirit. So by faith you believe and do things that your flesh wouldn’t. For instance your flesh will say, “seeing is believing”, but this is not so when it comes to walking in faith. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”. Faith looks up to God, faith looks at the word. Faith never see to believe, but rather believes and brings things into manifestation.

Overcome the flesh by acting out what you believe even in the face of daring situations.

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my Christian walk with you will be void of any element that stands against faith. Amen

Lack of knowledge destroys

Proverbs 11:9
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

Lack of knowledge especially on your rights and privileges as a Christian leads to bondage. Any time you walk in ignorance, you subject your life to suffering. The Bible says “Therefore my people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).

Lack of knowledge, causes you to be mentally enslaved by the wrong things or the deception of the devil.
You see, you can’t make it in life when you are mentally enslaved. You can walk as a free able bodied personality but when you don’t know God’s word you can be oppressed and suppressed by the devil and his cohorts.

Rise out from the pit of ignorance by voraciously feeding on the right stuffs. Learn! Learn the word of God. The Bible says honourable men like believers are famished because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).

Rise and study to show yourself approved unto God as a workman that needs not to be ashamed.

Read : Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not lack the knowledge that pertains to my freedom and deliverance in life. Amen

Don’t be Proud

Proverbs 29:23.
A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Pride is an enemy to your success because it can destroy what you have built in years and bring you to nothing.

To be proud means to think of yourself more highly than you ought to, or to think that you are better and important than others.
Most often than not, people become proud because of something they have done, something they own, someone they know and the like.

Hence pride is looking at yourself above others because of your possessions.
But you see, God does not want you to be proud.
He wants you to stay humble irrespective of what you possess or have achieved in life.

People who display pride and arrogance are setting themselves against God himself. In fact, God sees pride as an abomination.
Observe what the Bible says in Proverbs 6:16-17;
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue…”

When you are proud, God will resist you.
James 4:6 says “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble”.
Let go of pride and you will be blessed of the Lord.

Read: Proverbs 29:23 “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that pride will not enter in to my heart but rather more grace will be given me to be humble always.

It is worth waiting on the Lord.

Romans 8:25
“But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Waiting plays a significant role in our hope towards God. Your ability to wait patiently on God in dire seasons of life shows great hope.
Unfortunately, many believers are not patient enough to wait.

Bible says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
You see, anytime you wait on God your strength is renewed.

Waiting period doesn’t mean a period of inactivity, on the contrary, waiting demands that you engage in a lot of spiritual activities.

For instance, when a sower puts a seed in the ground, he must wait for it to germinate. During that period of waiting, he must apply manure, water the soil, give adequate sunlight, etc. He does all these while waiting for germination to begin.

Similarly, as a believer, your waiting period must be full of spiritual exercise. You must keep on praising the Lord, you must worship and keep a positive confession, knowing that in the right time God will show up.

Don’t lose your hope while waiting. Waiting period is a period of renewal. It builds in you tenacity and strength.

Don’t quickly exit the doors of waiting on the Lord.

Read: Isaiah 64:4
“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to wait on you for every need in my life.

Don’t assume things will work

Galatians 6:7
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap

No great thing simply appears from the sky. Similarly, greatness and success wouldn’t fall like ripe mangoes if you don’t work at it. You must not assume things will work by themselves if you haven’t put in place the necessary structure for it to work.

To assume means to work without actual facts. It’s just like leaving things to chance or happenstance.

Living or walking in life with assumptions is a dangerous thing. It keeps you from doing what is necessary and demanded of you.

For instance, that you were born into a Christian family doesn’t mean you are automatically saved, or that you have a rich parents doesn’t assure you of a rich future for yourself. That you are in school doesn’t necessarily mean you would be a literate.
You must put in effort to arrive at where you want to see yourself. You can’t wish your way to the top.

The truth is you only get what you work for. Apostle Paul in teaching the people of Galatia puts it this way,
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7).
That means that you can only reap what you sow. Whatever you didn’t work for, wouldn’t yield for you.

You see, assumptions makes you lazy, unproductive, and finally a non- achiever.
Don’t leave things to chance. Don’t live in a “world of assumptions”. Work at what you want to see and have in life.

Read: Proverbs 3:7 “Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil!” (MSG).

Prayer: Lord, I pray that from today I will not leave things to chance but will seriously work towards the success of everything.
