Do it with all your heart

Colossians 3:23
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”
Colossians 3:23

Dealing with men is very different than with God. Men are limited to what their five senses can receive. Hence it’s easy to deceive men especially when it comes to work. But the case is different when it comes to God. He sees as far as what is in the heart to reward you.
Thus, whatever you do physically without the backings of your heart does not attract God’s attention.

That’s why the Bible says “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”
(Colossians 3:23)

This is God’s standard when it comes to work. Whether working for God or man. Thus eye service is not something any believer must go with. Although we have a generation of ‘actors’ where it’s difficult to detect the true intentions of people, you must stand out when God calls you to work for him or any man.

Your service to God and man must be borne from and backed by your heart. Your actions must not be contradicted by what’s in your heart.

You see, with God it’s either you are serving or performing. But take note that God rewards service not performance.

Don’t be a man pleaser.
Serve with all your heart.

Read: Colossians 3:17
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for a good heart to serve both God and man without any hypocrisy. Amen

No Condemnation!

Romans 8:1
“There is therefore now no Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”

Condemnation is a feeling of guilt, sense of disapproval and fear that dominates people because of a mistake or sin they have committed. Condemnation simply breaks the courage of those who live under it. Romans 8:1 says “There is therefore now no Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”

In Christ, we are new creatures. We are a new breed of people, born of God in true righteousness and holiness. Never let the enemy hold you captive because of your past life. Grow out of that. You see, when you give in to condemnation you can’t give out your best in anything, because condemnation makes you inferior and uninterested in pursuing God’s will for your life.

You must know that, as a Christian your past has passed away and God is not holding your past against you. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them…” You see, what counts now is your “new life”.

Instead of dwelling on the past sinful life that you once lived, engage your heart and actions towards making a beautiful life for yourself now that you are in Christ. Don’t give in again to the yoke of bondage. Stand fast in your liberty.

Jesus is our safety from now to eternity. John in his first epistle wrote and said “… And if any man sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”. Instead living under condemnation because of any sin or mistake, confess it to the Lord. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Today, master the courage again for life. You are still God’s best. You are his righteousness and holiness. Stand fast in the Lord. Let go of the past. Hold on to the precious and glorious life in Christ.
You are freed, healed, saved, and delivered NEVER TO GO BACK. Hallelujah!

Read: John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for my freedom in you and i pray that I will never go back into bondage.

Don’t work for the food that perishes.

John 6:27
“Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures [and leads] to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for God the Father has authorized Him and put His seal on Him.”

Every work comes with a reward, be it a physical remuneration in the form of wages and salary or spiritual blessings such as health, wealth, favor, etc. Regrettably, not many people are working to secure their eternal salvation.

But Jesus tells us in John 6:27 that,
“Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures [and leads] to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for God the Father has authorized Him and put His seal on Him.”

Listen, serving God for the wrong reason or personal gain is working for the food that perishes. Surely, you might receive that which you seek but would also loose the most important thing, the food that leads to eternal life, which is Jesus himself.

You see, it is possible you can be doing the right work for God with the wrong reason. It is also possible to want to be a Christian for the wrong reason. This is a growing trend in this generation where people’s view of God is that he’s a “shopping mall”. Thus, people only come to God because of their needs and not because of a genuine love for Him nor his work.

In fact, some people only remain Christians so long as their needs are satisfied by God. When things don’t go well, they immediately take the exit door.

From today, let Christ be your only focus for living, and working for the God.

Read: Matthew 15:8
“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray this day that I will not be a Christian and also serve you for the wrong reason but one whose focus is genuinely on you. Amen

Your persistence will be rewarded

1 Corinthians 15:58
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.

God is a rewarder and one of the things he rewards is persistence. Your ability to stand your ground in your beliefs and principles as a child of God is a great virtue that God does not overlook.

1 Corinthians 15:58 says
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.

This scripture gives a picture of what persistence is. Because persistence is the quality that allows someone to continue doing something even though it is difficult or is being faced with opposition.

The virtue of persistence is important to the believer because, the Christian faith and walk is a journey that has many huddles and twist which can easily cause you to go back from the faith.

You see, you must make up your mind not to give up half way. Don’t quit or surrender. You must learn to carry a ‘no retreat no surrender’ mentality.
Continue till you see the reward of your labour.

Be persistent in prayer, in hope, in giving, in loving, and your service to God.

Read: Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised”.

Prayer: Lord I pray for grace to still continue even when the going becomes more difficult. Amen

Get to the finish line

Ecclesiastes 7:8
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof…

It is a good thing to start new things in life, be it business, career, education, relationship or ministry. However, the most important thing is to finish it.

You see its not only enough to start or initiate something, you must put in a finishing plan as well. Thus, you must plan to start and plan to finish.
You were not called to do a half way job as a child of God.

In fulfilling his ministry on earth, Jesus said in John 4:34;
“My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work”.
He was consumed with the passion of finishing the work he started on earth. He considered starting and finishing his work as the only thing that could satisfy him.

Similarly, God has called you to start and finish many great things.
Some people started school and never completed it, others have abandon businesses, marriages and ministries to mention a few. But you must dare to finish what you have started by the inspiration of God.

Don’t let challenges and hard times throw you down or make you quit. Make up your mind to finish. Press on till you get to the finish line.

Don’t stop half way!

Read: John 17:4
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do “.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that challenges and hard times will not throw me down or make me quit. Amen

Let God lead you

Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”.

The best leader you can have in your life is God. Following the ways of God is the sure way to enjoy lasting success in life. That is why it’s important to subscribe to what ever God leads you to do.

The Bible says in Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”.
You see, the only one that knows what lies at the end of a particular path you are taking is God, hence trusting Your own plans to succeed is a dangerous path to travel.

God leads us in many ways and one of such is by his word. That is why you must live by the word as a believer.
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth” (Deuteronomy 28:1)

He also leads us by his Spirit. The Bible says;
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come”. (John 16:13)
You see, every child of God can receive instructions and guidance from the Spirit of God. Thus your ability to receive and follow the Spirit’s leading is what would bring you success in life.

Many people are not enjoying all round success because the are not fully led by God. On the contrary, most are lead by personal ambitions and plans.
They therefore replace God’s leading with their own plans.

But you see, it’s important to know that self effort only brings success when it’s predicated on God’s word.

Be led by God in all your endeavors.

Read: Isaiah 48:17
“Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go”.

Prayer: Lord I pray that you will always and continually lead me in all my endeavors. Amen

Don’t harden your heart

Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”.

Hebrews 3:15
“While it is said, “TODAY [while there is still opportunity] IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEART, AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME [in the rebellion in the desert at Meribah].”

God is still out there calling people unto repentance in order to partake of his divine kingdom just as he did in days of old. And yet many people are still not responding to this great call from God, because they have harden their hearts to even hear and understand the call.

A Harden heart is one that feels no remorse nor regret for actions taken. In other words, a hardened heart does not want to repent. This is because sin and it’s pleasures has made it callous.

However God is still calling out to you today to soften your heart and receive him.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. (Revelation 3:20)

God wants to come into our heart to fellowship with you. He is making the invitation today to you as well.

You see, everyone has a ‘today’. Your today is the day you hear the Gospel being preached to you, or an instruction to change your ways to “inherit eternal life”. Have you hearkened to God’s voice? Have you obeyed the word taught or preached to you?

It doesn’t matter if you didn’t respond yesterday, you have today also to respond. Don’t harden your heart. Remember today is all you have, tomorrow might be too late.

Read: Acts 3:19
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord”.

Prayer: Lord, I ask for grace to always respond to the call of repentance and not to harden my heart. Amen

There’s no partiality with God

Acts 10:34
“Most certainly I understand now that God is not one to show partiality [to people as though Gentiles were excluded from God’s blessing]”

God is not a partial God as some would perceive or consider him to be. On the contrary, he is a righteous God and deals with all men through his righteous judgement. In fact, God deal with each one of us from the same compassionate heart.

The apostle Peter came to this understanding when he was led by the Holy Spirit to minister to a gentile family.
“Opening his mouth, Peter said: “Most certainly I understand now that God is not one to show partiality [to people as though Gentiles were excluded from God’s blessing]”
(Acts 10:34)

To be partial means to be discriminative or be a respecter of persons. Fortunately this trait cannot be found in God and neither must it be found in you as a Christian.

One thing that is certain with the nature of God is that He is not a respecter of persons nor status. He does not discriminate against who should be blessed or cursed, saved or damned, who should be lifted up or set down.
When it comes to salvation and attracting God’s blessings, only one principle applies and that is your faith working by love. (Galatians 5:6). Thus, God has given all men the same “playing field”. No one has an advantage over the other.

The unfortunate truth is that there are many who are not enjoying God’s blessings because they allow their background or status to disqualify them.

From today, approach God just as you are and he won’t cast you out.
Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need.

Read: Galatians 5:6
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”.

Prayer: Lord, i thank you for your unconditional love and mercy that accepts us without any partiality. Amen

You have power over demons

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

The world is not just physical, it also has a spiritual dimension. There are spiritual beings like angels who are sent to minister to believers and there are also demons, whose sole agenda is to frustrate God’s will in our lives.

Demons are spirits which are wicked, hateful and destructive. These spirits are actual personalities and would want to express themselves just like any other human being.

You see, demons delight to use people to do their work. Thus, their choice to defile, corrupt, lead astray is most often done through humans.

Just as in the real world, we have people with different skills, experiences or some special attributes the same can be said of demons.

Their ultimate aim is to lead people to hell aside the affliction and troubles they brew for humanity.

Demons operate by either possessing unbelievers and oppressing believers. They also try to influence believers daily, in order to take them out of God’s will.

But in the midst of all these demonic forces God has given you the believer power to deal with them. You have the power to cast out demons. You have the power to break any influence of demons over your life. And you also have the power to disallow demons from doing anything in your abode. (Matthew 10:8)

Don’t be ignorant. Demons are real. They are working day and night to destroy people and things. Stand up to the task and never let these forces bring you to nothing.

Read: Mark 16:17
“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages”.

Prayer: Lord, i thank you for your power you have endowed me with to subdue demons. Amen

The joy of the Lord

Nehemiah 8:10
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength

Different things makes people happy and joyful in life. For some, until they have an amount of success, there’s no joy in them. Others find joy in their education, career, spouses or children, or even in wild parties. But you see all these factors can change overnight, hence they are not a reliable source of joy. However there is a joy that comes from the Lord which is sure and constant.

To be joyful in the Lord does not necessarily mean you don’t have issues of your own. It simply means you are not allowing your problems to weigh you down.

Allowing the joy that comes from God to fill you is what gives you strength to overcome life’s challenges.
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).

You see, your worship to God must not be tinted with worries and anxiety.
Walking in joy at all times is also a great sign of faith. Irrespective of what you go through, don’t let it hinder your joy and block your worship to God.

This is only possible when you walk in the full assurance of God’s word and promises.

Read: Psalm 46:4
“There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my joy in this life will not be dependent on any earthly event or happening but on you.
