WALK IN THE REALM OF POWER

Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.

One of the major blessings that characterizes the life of the believer is power. When you become born again, you are born into the arena of power. You receive a superior divine ability as a Christian which you must exercise to the fullest to reign in life.

God invested this power in you so as to enable you live a victorious life here on earth. Those who walk in the fullness of God’s power live above principalities, divinations and evil power. The power of God in you makes you live above fear. The bible says, we have the power to deal with any negative force and go unharmed.

Let’s consider what Mathew said in his Gospel. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost :”( Mathew 28:18). Never for one moment of your life think, you have no power.

Acts 1:8 says “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”. You see, the power you have enables you make significant changes in your life and also makes you a soul winner.

You preaching and leading people to Christ is a great demonstration of the power of God in you. You sharing the gospel, breaks the devils dominion over people’s life and gives them access to the Kingdom of God.
Walk in power by being a soul winner till all is said and done.

Read: 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will be conscious and walk in this realm of power to reign in the affairs of life. Amen

Be audacious in life.

Psalm 18: 29
“For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall”

People who are audacious are doers and achievers, because it takes audacity to do great things in life. As Christians God expects that we reign, dominate and take territories in life. But this can only become possible when we are audacious.

You see, people who take territories in life, whether in spiritual or natural things are audacious. Such folks are bold, daring, fearless, intrepid, brave, unafraid, unflinching, and courageous. That is why God told Joshua to be strong and courageous when he (Joshua) was to cross over the Jordan, to go and possess the land, which the LORD had given to them. (Joshua 1:9).
The truth is, if you sit down and don’t take any bold step to get things done, nothing will happen and you can’t possess anything in life.

You must be bold in every area of your life. When it comes to your career, education, ministry, marriage or relationship, you need to be audacious.
Being audacious is one thing that separate winners, possessors, and achievers from failures and beggars.

Don’t say your program or subject of study is difficult so you are giving up on your education for something easier. Don’t say you are not getting a job after many application letters so that’s all, you want an easy way out. Well, there is nothing easy anywhere. Whether in pursuing your education, securing a career, marrying and staying married, or being in the ministry, all you need is to be audacious.

Anything you want to achieve in life has its own challenges surrounding it. Just be audacious and go for what you want.
Don’t run away or give up on your God given purpose all because you are faced with a challenge. Be strong and move forward.
Like David, move through the troop of resistance and run over the wall of limitation (2 Samuel 22:30). That is being audacious.

Read: Psalm 18: 29 “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be more audacious to reign and take territories in life. And

Pray in the spirit; it is for your good.

Jude 1:20
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”

There are various ways to pray and there are different kinds of prayer. These are all unique and they have the kind of results they produce. To say that “prayer is prayer” and not pay attention to biblical truth on the subject will deprive you of some great benefits.

As Christians, one way we can pray is by praying in the spirit. Praying in the spirit means that you yield to the Holy Spirit to pray in sync with what He wills and directs you. This prayer does not involve your mind or your personal will. When you pray in the spirit you don’t pray with your own understanding.

In 1 Corinthians 14:14, the bible makes us understand that, when you pray in tongues, your spirit prays. Thus, praying in tongues makes you pray in the spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:14 says “For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful”

You see, anytime you pray in the spirit, you are built up in the faith. The amplified bible explains that when you pray in the spirit “you rise like an edifice higher and higher”.

No wonder that bible admonishes us to pray in the spirit on all occasions.  “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…” (Ephesians 6:18).

Make a practice of speaking in tongues everyday of your life. As you do that and pray in the spirit, things above your control and knowledge will fall in place for your good.

Read: Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always continue praying in the spirit. Amen

Press towards the mark.

Philippians 3:14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:10-14 “10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death, if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

There is a prize or a reward for Christians who make it to the end. Nonetheless, getting a reward in your walk with God demands great determination. This is because, journeying on in the Christian faith can be shrouded with challenges. This is why you need to press on.

To press on or press ahead means that you continue a task or activity in a determined way, and not allowing any problems or difficulties to delay you. Being saved and called to serve the Lord comes with PRESSING ON. You must press on towards the upward way. You must press on to know the Lord, you must press on to live in purity, you must press on to be a soul winner, and you must press on to remain loyal by all standards.

Beloved, press towards the prize! There is a heaven to gain and there is a crown to earn. Remain firm in your convictions as a Christian; this is how you can press on against all odds.

Read: 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses”

Prayer: Lord I pray for more grace in this era to press towards the mark to receive the end glory.

Use every opportunity to preach the gospel

2 Corinthians 5:18
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Timothy 4:2 says “preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual maturity], with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching”

Every Christian is called to preach. To preach simply means to proclaim or broadcast. This mandate must be done at all times at all cost.

The Bible teaches that you must preach when given the opportunity. There are occasions and moments when you will be called upon as a Christian to defend your faith or say something in relation to your faith. These are times you must not take for granted. You must not shy away from these opportunities, rather boldly declare the word of God.

The Bible also teaches that you must preach even in the face of opposition. In other words, when people are unwilling or the environment is hostile, you must still make an attempt to speak God’s word of salvation. The Apostle Paul, once found himself in Athens, a city where idol worship was the order of the day, but he still took upon himself to preach.

In preaching or sharing God’s word, you must correct people to live according to God’s will, you must warn them about the judgement of God and you must exhort people to move forward in life.
Never take for granted this mandate. Preach! Preach!! Preach!!!.

Remember, preaching is not only for pastors or men of God.

Read: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”

Prayer: Lord I pray for grace to use every opportunity to preach the gospel. Amen

Dwell together in unity

Psalm 133:1-2
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments”

Dwelling together with people in unity is a good and a pleasant thing.
As Christians God does not expect us to bring divisions or create situations that don’t promote unity wherever we find ourselves.

You see, living together with people in unity means that you must walk in love. You can’t live in harmony with people when you don’t walk in love.

Ephesians 4:2-3 says that “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

Throw off everything that hinders you from being at peace with people. Let go of offense, let go of quarrels, let go of pride and let go of contention.

Remember that when unity prevails, we always win against the schemes of the devil.

Read: Ephesians 4:3 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and strength to dwell together with people in unity in spite of all hindering factors. Amen

TELL THE TRUTH

Colossians 3:9
says: “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds”.

As Christians, God has called us to live up to certain standards. This includes telling the truth. Living to tell the truth about yourself, what you are doing and giving truthful answers when questioned on things you know demands a deliberate effort. Until you make up your mind to live with the principle of telling the truth as the word teaches, you will do the otherwise.

You see, lying is one habit you ought to hate and avoid because it is against God’s word and also because of its dangerous consequences. People who lie give themselves extra work of remembering what they previously said in other not to contradict themselves in any way. That’s why it is often said that tell the truth and you don’t have to remember.

Giving yourself to the habit of lying makes you a sinning Christian.
Anytime you lie, you also tell yourself a lie. This is because you must refuse to admit or accept the truth even though it is evident and still go on to lie.

Today, we are living in a world where “lies” have become a norm. People virtually lie about everything. Not only do they tell lies, they also live their “lies” so that they will be believed. How sad when we have people living “what they are not”. Some even get to the extent of lying to their parents, wives, husbands, good friends and the worse of all their pastors.

Remember that, the day the truth is discovered, YOU HAVE BROKEN A TRUST THAT CAN NEVER BE RESTORED but can only be managed. Beloved, say what you mean, mean what you say, but let it also be the truth. Be truthful. Lying is costly.

Read: Proverbs 12:19 “The lip of truth shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for more grace to always abide in the truth. Amen

Your heart can make it wrong!

2 Chronicles 25:1-2
“And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart”

“Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart” (2 Chronicles 25:1-2).

Your heart plays a significant role in what you do and what you don’t do. The state or condition of your heart can make void or useless a good act. As a Christian, God wants your heart and your act to be in agreement. Anything short of this will make you an insincere person or a pretender.

God is interested in both your good actions and your good heart. You see, the real you is your heart or your spirit. Thus, acting in the flesh by doing good things to and for people but still have ill thoughts and feelings towards them in your heart will render your works useless before God.
The Bible says that, as a man thinks in his heart so is he. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee” (Proverbs 27:3). Don’t say one thing with your mouth and hold another in your heart.

You see, although you can win the approval of men from doing “heartless” things or doing things without the backings of your heart, that won’t pass the test of God. God always looks on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 says “But the Lord told him, “Samuel, don’t think Eliab is the one just because he’s tall and handsome. He isn’t the one I’ve chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts.”

Let God’s word dominate your heart and allow the promptings of the spirit to inspire your heart, this is how to put your heart in a perfect state.

When your heart is guarded against every evil, you will act or do things wholeheartedly without any seed of deception or hypocrisy.

Read: Proverbs 17:3 “Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the LORD tests the heart”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to do all things in this world out of a perfect heart. Amen

Be purpose driven

John 12:27
“Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour”

Knowing why you are here on earth makes you different from any other person. It is by being purpose driven that you can do what is expected of you by the Lord.

Our opening text reveals how Jesus kept his gaze or focus on his purpose while on earth. In fact, He was purpose bound that he could not but to proclaim it.
He knew why he was on earth. His purpose was clear to him that nothing could derail him from it. Not even pain or adversity.

On another occasion he told the disciples “For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost”. Meaning that from his birth up to the time he gave up his life to save humanity, Jesus was glued to His mission. He never swayed off his assignment. Not even the persecutions or the accusations could hinder him.

This is the mentality God wants believers to live with. You must know your purpose, pursue it in spite of all the challenges that may show up.
You see, life is not and must not be a funfair to you. One preacher once said, “It is either you are on earth for a mission or you are on an excursion”.

Until you live for a reason you are just existing but not living. Living for a reason will cause you to do something for your generation. Living for a reason will make you particular in life, and it will make you responsible in life.

Read: Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always stick to my God given purpose here on earth. Amen

Any affliction is but for a moment

2 Corinthians 4:17
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

The Bible again says that, “many are the afflictions of the righteous…”(Psalm 34:19).

Life is not devoid of afflictions, especially when you are a Christian. You may sometimes find yourself in difficult and complicated situations with less options of making things work.

But God says that, these afflictions are but for a moment. All your afflictions have an expiry date. No matter how strong and disastrous they may seem to be, you will not be consumed by them. Even if the affliction came because of sin, confess it and move on in glory.

Psalm 107:17,19 says “Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress”.

Refuse to be destroyed by any affliction. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”
Don’t allow distress or affliction quench your joy and faith in God.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel. God indeed got your back. Move on!

Read: Psalm 119:67 “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for more grace to go through and overcome every life affliction. Amen
