It shall be well

Isaiah 3:10
“Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him : for they shall eat the fruit of their doings”

There is nothing like a “hopeless case or situation” when God is involved. Although the happenings of life can sometimes make things go the awkward way, God’s word says “it shall be well” with the righteous.

When God says it shall be well, it means there is hope. It also means that, any happenings that is not to your favour will turn out for your good.
This is one reason why you must not give up in life.

Isaiah prophesied that, “it shall be well with the righteous and they shall eat the fruit of their doings”. So you see, there is no cause for alarm irrespective of what is happening to and around you. God will make all grace abound unto you. He will remember your labour of love, He will remember your sacrifice towards his name and perfect all that concerns you.

You see, if God says it shall be well with you, nothing can stop that manifestation. Believe it, confess it and abide in his word and there shall be a performance.

Read: Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end”

Prayer: Lord, I pray thinking you for the positive assurance regarding every situation I’m into. Amen

The spirit of Michal

2 Samuel 6:16
“And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart“.

From our opening text, we see how Michal who was the wife of David, despised David in her heart because of his zeal and joy in the Lord. Therefore, the spirit of Michal is a spirit that despises the things of God.

To despise means to dislike and have a low opinion of someone or something because you think it’s worthless. Hence anytime the spirit of Michal is in operation, it tends to look down on the things of God.

In fact, it regards worship to God as a worthless act and a waste of time.

The danger is that, when you are being influenced by this spirit as a Christian, you begin to loose interest in spiritual activities.
Prayer doesn’t make sense to you anymore. You see no reason why you must worship and praise God. Reading the Bible seems worthless. In fact, you have total disregard even for pastors and servants of God.

You see, the spirit of Michal is another reason why people backslide and fall into apostasy. Sin becomes pleasurable to you and causes you to eventually abandon the faith.

Today, there are many people who despise the church of God. They regard believers as a group of fanatics and brain washed persons.
This “despisers” show contempt towards spiritual things and abhor anything that has a signature of righteousness.

Beware of despising “godly things or people”. It can bring a curses and damnation to you.
In the case of Michal she became barren. “Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death”. (2 Samuel 6:23)

Learn not to be familiar with the things of God, and don’t also despise things associated with God.

Read: Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not live to despise you nor anything that is related to you. Amen

Stand in awe and sin not

Psalm 4:4
“Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.”

The born again Christian has been freed and delivered from the power of sin. That means, sin has no power over the believer (Romans 6:14). The moment Christ became the Lord over your life, you entered into freedom (Galatians 5:1).

But now that you have been set free, it’s dependent on you to keep yourself from being under the bondage of sin.
You see, even though the devil will still try to extend his influence to sin over your life, you must decide not to yield.

Psalm 4:4 says, “Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.”
Standing in awe is one way to keep your freedom in the Lord. It means constantly walking in reverence to God. This “holy fear” will help you not to “make a practice of sinning”.

You see, living in sin as a Child of God, is one of the greatest dishonor to God.
Today, we have some believers who take God for granted. They lie, steal, cheat, get involved in immoral stuffs and still “take things cool” as if nothing has happened.

But the Bible says, ‘stand in awe”. Have reverence for God. Don’t treat God’s sacred temple which is your body with contempt. In other words, don’t corrupt yourself.

Remember that, nothing but a fiery judgment is what awaits anyone who takes “grace” for granted and uses it as a license to sin.

Refuse to bring yourself under any wrong and satanic influence.
Walk in the new life and fight any attempt of the enemy to influence your life to sin.

Read: 1 John 3:8-9 “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not use grace as a license to sin and to also take you for granted. Amen

The word builds you up

Acts 20:32
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified”.

There are many blessings that the Christian can get from studying God’s word.
Knowing God’s word can make you free from any bondage, it will also produce faith in your heart and cause you to flourish.

Aside all these blessings, God’s word builds you up. You become grounded in the truth by the word. The word builds you up to keep the faith to the end.
Acts 20:32 says “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified”.

Not knowing the word can cause you to throw away your faith in the Lord when faced with challenges or false doctrines.
They are many false teachings or doctrines in our world today.

The Bible says such people will turn the truth upside down just to draw men to follow them. See Acts: Acts 20:30 “Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them”.
Therefore, knowing God’s word is very crucial in this end times.

You see, you need the word to be well grounded and established. The word builds you up by giving you faith and imparting into your soul and your spirit man the Truth.

Make quality time for the word and you will be well established in the faith.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that as I dwell on your word it will build me up and give me it corresponding benefits. Amen

Love the Lord!

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Your love for God is one of the most important things that must be in place in your Christian life. The Bible has instructed us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 19:19).

In Revelation 12:11, the Bible says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”. Note that last phrase which says “AND THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO THE DEATH”. Meaning that, their love for God, the things of God, the purpose of God, took away their love for themselves. They were ready to die because of their Love for the Lord.

Whenever love is in place, you go the extra mile, and do greater things for God. Just consider Jesus,He came to the world to save us but the price was death. Nonetheless, his love for us made him pay such a great price. Today, love the Lord and work for him.

Read: Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that out of the love I have for you I will go the extra mile to work and to serve you. Amen

Start small

Isaiah 60:22
A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.

Most often than not, people look down on small things, especially small beginnings.
Nonetheless, life reveals how great things were birthed from small or insignificant beginnings.
For instance by just planting a corn, one can get an undeniable harvest of lots of maize.

Starting small in life does not mean you can’t arrive at a glorious end. It will just be a matter of time and process. But at the end, God will show himself mighty if you remain faithful and focused on what you are doing.

You see, any promise of God for your life will see the days of little beginnings. It may seem like you are not getting any positive results. But that is far from the truth. For when the clouds be full of rain, (after gathering little by little), it shall empty itself on the earth (Ecclesiastes 11:3).

God says you are prosperous, but you won’t start from a million dollar account. God says he will bless your ministry, but you won’t start from a thousand member church. All will be little by little. Don’t depise these small beginnings, because the word of God will surely speak at the end.

Whatever God has said about you will surely come to pass without fail. Hold on to your small beginnings, greatness is on the way.

Read: Job 8:7
“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not look down on small beginnings but rather learn how to start with smaller things. Amen

DON’T FORGET GOD!

Deuteronomy 8:7
For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills

God wants you to always remember His goodness for your life. Anything short of this is not God’s will. For instance, after the Lord had delivered his people the Israelites from the 430 years of captivity in Egypt, His admonishment to them was “don’t be forgetful”. Meaning that, God considers what you do with Him and for Him after benefiting from Him.

Deuteronomy 8:7 recounts: “For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills”. You see, when God ushered His people into a new level of life, He cautioned them to be grateful, by not being forgetful. That’s exactly what God requires of you.

Nonetheless, this is where many people miss it. They are eager and quick to receive from the Lord, but easily forgets all of his goodness.
They refuse to continually appreciate and celebrate the goodness of God that made them who they are today.
What has the Lord done for you? For some people, the Lord that took them from pain to gain, shame to fame, grass to grace, nothing to something.
What has been your experience, and are you grateful or forgetful?

David in Psalms103, said “bless the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits”.

Remember that, your heart of gratitude is what causes God to still flourish you. To think that your success in life was by your own strength is a spirit of ingratitude.

Remember that it is all because of the blessings of the Lord that you are where you are today. Always be grateful to the Lord.

DON’T forget God!

Read: Psalm 103:2 “Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will never forget you but always remember you and your goodness over my life.

Value relationships.

Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

One principle of life is that, unvalued things are easily destroyed or ill-treated. This situation also applies to relationships we have with people. Thus people who don’t place premium on or value their relationships with people ends up destroying something that can be worthwhile.

In as much as the bible teaches us to avoid ungodly ties and associations (1 Corinthians 15:33), it also encourages us to keep and value our relationships with the wise (Proverbs 13:20). This is to say that, while there may be evil or bad relationships and associations, there are also profitable ones given to us by God.

Nonetheless, these good relationships only benefits when you place a great value on it. The Bible has an unending list of people that became significant because of profitable or good relationships they had with people. We can talk about David and Jonathan, Abram and Lot, Jesus and his disciples, Paul and his coworkers, etc.

The Bible records how the relationship Timothy, Titus, Philemon had with the Apostle Paul shaped their lives. These people become stalwarts that God used to bless the world. Although, some folks like Gehazi, Judus, Demas, etc, missed the great relationships God gave. You must dare to be different to benefit from profitable relationships.

Employ the virtues of love, respect, humility, honour, gratefulness and loyalty to keep any profitable relationship that God has given you. Never undermine any godly relationship that you have with any one. Don’t only look at material benefits, but consider how such unions will and have shaped you to become a better person.
Place value on your God-given relationships.

Read: Ecclesiastes 4:9 “ Two is better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to behave well and keep what ever profitable relationship you have given to me. Amen

No Condemnation!

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Condemnation is a feeling of guilt, sense of disapproval and fear that dominates people because of a mistake or sin they have committed. Condemnation simply breaks the courage of those who live under it. Romans 8:1 says “There is therefore now no Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”

In Christ, we are new creatures. We are a new breed of people, born of God in true righteousness and holiness. Never let the enemy hold you captive because of your past life. Grow out of that.

You see, when you give in to condemnation you can’t give out your best in anything, because condemnation makes you inferior and uninterested in pursuing God’s will for your life.

You must know that, as a Christian your past has passed away and God is not holding your past against you. 2 Corinthians 5: 19 says “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them…” You see, what counts now is your “new life”. Instead of dwelling on the past sinful life that you once lived, engage your heart and actions towards making a beautiful life for yourself now that you are in Christ. Don’t give in again to the yoke of bondage. Stand fast in your liberty.

Jesus is our safety from now to eternity. John in his first epistle wrote and said “… And if any man sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”. Instead of living under condemnation because of any sin or mistake, confess it to the Lord. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Today, master the courage again for life. You are still God’s best. You are his righteousness and holiness. Stand fast in the Lord. Let go of the past. Hold on to the precious and glorious life in Christ.
You are freed, healed, saved, and delivered NEVER TO GO BACK. Hallelujah!

Read: John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free”

Prayer: Lord, i pray that I will stand fast in my liberty and will not be held bound by any sin or guilt. Amen

Exhort one another

Deuteronomy 3:28
But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

Discouragement is not an uncommon human experience. Especially for the believers. We are sometimes faced with unexpected troubles and discouragements that we aren’t prepared for. It is in these moments that we need to exhort one another. Exhortation is very crucial for our walk of faith.

To exhort means to strongly encourage or urge someone to do something.

Jesus Christ told his disciples “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” ( John 16:33). You see, Jesus did not shy from telling His followers about the troubles they would face. In fact, He told them the world would hate them (John 15:18-21)
However, he also encouraged them to rejoice since He has overcome the world.

You see, anytime you are encouraged, you are able to move on in life with great tenacity even though things may not be in their rightful place.

You must know that, just as you need an encouragement from some other believer someone also needs your encouragement.
Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend”..

Instead of criticizing or accusing people, rather use the time and opportunity to encourage them.

Always bare in mind that, it is your responsibility to exhort someone.

Read: Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be able to bring words of encouragement to people. Amen
