Be slow to anger!

Proverbs 14:29
“He who is slow to anger has great understanding [and profits from his self-control], But he who is quick-tempered exposes and exalts his foolishness [for all to see]”

It is a sign of great wisdom, understanding and maturity when you don’t easily get angry with people.

Anger or being angry never brings success to anyone. This is because most often than not man’s anger does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:20).

You see, never pride in the fact that you are quick tempered. You are likely not going to change that character to make it reflect who you are in Christ.

Instead of boiling, raging or ranting when people offend you or do things that you don’t like, correct them in love and with patience. Don’t speak arrogantly, or in a disrespectful manner in your attempt to register your dislike for someone’s action.
Whatever the case may be, never give anger the chance in your heart. Let go of it as soon as it comes .

Remember that anger can make you destroy things and heap up for you negative happenings in the future!

Read: Ephesians 4:3 “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to never allow anger to manifest in me.

Be obedient to the Lord.

Deuteronomy 27:10
“Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day”.

Obedience is key when you want to excel in your walk with God. As a matter of fact, you can’t do much as a Christian when you are not obedient to the Lord.

Following the Lord demands absolute obedience to his word, plans and purpose for your life.
Obedience to God will always set you on the path of blessing. Deuteronomy 11:26 & 27 says “See, I am setting before you toady a blessing …A blessing, if ye obey the Lord your God, which I command you this day”.

You see, you can’t get the best and enjoy good things in life when you walk in disobedience.
There are many people that are living in deception today because they think they can “pray God into action” or “use God” by means of prayer to get what they want irrespective of whether they are obedient or not. But it never works that way.

Obedience to God, coupled with your prayer, will make your prayers effective. In fact, that’s when prayer changes things

Obedience will always precede a breakthrough or a miracle. See Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land”.

You can’t disobey God and expect him to shower his blessings on your life. You must be committed to obeying the Lord whether you feel like doing it or not.
Make it a practice not to only listen to the word of God but to also obey it fully. No instruction from the word of God is insignificant. Every single word from the Lord must be obeyed without compromise or negotiation.

Remember that obedience always pays.

Read: Deuteronomy 30:14 “No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be obedient in my walk with you.

Overcome with your faith

1 John 5:4
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith”
Your faith will make you a winner or an overcomer in life.

You see, no opposition in life is insurmountable neither is any challenge too difficult to overcome when you engage your faith (1 John 5:4).

You have what it takes to overcome the world as a Christian. You have what it takes to undo every satanic and demonic agenda that has been plotted against your life.

As a Christian, your faith is the overcoming force that puts you above every calamity and negative circumstances in the world.

Anytime you engage your faith, you never become a victim of satanic onslaught. Faith in God and his word will give you victory all year round. You can do little in this world without faith.

Don’t let anything stop you from accessing God’s best for your life. Constantly engage your faith through prayer, positive confession, and acting on God’s word. You are assured of great and blessed happenings when you do this.

Read: Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to constantly engage my faith to overcome every obstacle to my blessings. Amen

Satan has no dominion over you!

Colossians 1:13
“For He (God) has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

The born again believer is not at the mercy of the devil.
The devil must not rule or control your life because you are not in his “domain”.

Born again believers are in the domain of God. They are in Christ Jesus, who defeated Satan. Colossians 3:3 says “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”.

You see, you are in a PLACE of success, health and righteousness. Don’t live like a failure. SHINE in life to God’s glory. Don’t forget that YOU ARE BORN FROM ABOVE.

Praise God!

Read: Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving dominion over the devil to triumph in life. Amen

Plans and pursuit

Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Plans and pursuit must go hand in hand.
Pursuit brings your plan into reality.
When you plan and do nothing, nothing will happen.

It is your ability to do something about the future you picture that makes you an achiever.
Thinking about a great idea or imagining the best outcomes for your life is important but not final.

You need to pursue the plan. That is, strive towards achieving it.
Stay focused and be ready to make use of every opportunity for your advantage. Never postpone to tomorrow what you can do today.
Above all, pray. It will empower you to do exploits without burnouts.

You see, until you get practical towards making every God given plan a reality, it will remain a mirage.

Read: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to pursue every God given plan to make it a reality. Amen

Deny yourself!

Matthew 16:24
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

Self-denial is to selflessly give yourself to God. When you deny yourself, you put God’s interest above yours. This is what makes you give your life, time, and resources to the course of God.

Jesus in the above scripture teaches us the key to following the will of God, which is by self denial. Meaning that, if you put yourself first, you will not be able to follow the Lord well.

Following God demands self-denial. There is nothing like costless Christianity. We must sacrifice our comfort to follow God. We must deny ourselves before we can follow. Following the Lord demands absolute focus, loyalty and attention.

Do not be self-centered. Be zealous to respond to God’s call for your life. Remenber that, all that you are and possess is for a moment, but you will be eternally rewarded when you deny yourself and diligently follow the Lord and his will for your life.

Read:Luke 9:23 “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will always put you first in all my endeavors. Amen

Pay attention

Proverbs 4:20
“My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings”

It takes great attention or being attentive before you can access some blessings in your walk with God. Not only that, you must be willing to learn.

You see, nothing will hinder you more like a casual attitude or approach towards God’s word or a godly instruction.

In the book of Proverbs chapter 4, Solomon reveals or explains the blessings that accompany people who pay attention to the godly counsel and teachings of a father. That will include our father God, and any earthly father God may give us either biologically or spiritually.

You may have being casual or unserious about instructions and word of God given to you by the Lord or through a father given to you. But it is time to repent.
Pay attention now. It will help you grow well and to fulfil your purpose.
It will ultimately also help you, make it to heaven.

Pay attention to the WORD. Don’t have a divided mind in any way.

Read: Proverbs 3:6
“In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
‭‭

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not approach instructions and your word in a casual way. Amen

Pay day will come

2 Corinthians 5:10
“For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives-the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].”

Every worker gladly looks forward to his or her pay day. A time where his efforts will be rewarded or given recognition for his benefit.

In the same way believers shall one day come for their rewards from the Lord. God will measure our output at the end of the day and will determine how we will be rewarded.

Being put in a trust position, or being made stewards of the gospel, God will expect us to account for this great and priceless investment into us as Christians.
That’s to say that, responsibility brings accountability, after which the outcome will be a reward or otherwise.

Thus any gift, skill, wisdom, opportunity or talent that God empowers you with, must be put to maximum use. Don’t waste time. Don’t put your personal interest above God’s. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t mishandle the gift and grace of God.
A wise use of God’s blessings, and doing exactly what God has entrusted into your hands, will make you glad on the day of accountability.

Be thankful that God has counted you faithful in the first place to do something with him and for him. Finally, ATTEMPT GREAT THINGS FOR HIM. Don’t slack.

Read: Romans 14:12
“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be a good steward and user of anything you have entrusted into my hands. Amen

Pride and arrogance, a recipe for disaster

Ezekiel 28:17
“Your heart was proud and arrogant because of your beauty; You destroyed your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I lay you before kings, That they might look at you.”

People don’t just become proud or arrogant in life.
For every pride or arrogance people display, it has to do with something they have in their heart or allowing themselves to be influenced by evil spirits.

Our opening text teaches how Lucifer on the account of his beauty or honour he received from God became proud. The Bible also talks about how having knowledge alone makes people proud and arrogant (1 Corinthians 8:1).

You see, like a paradox, no proud or arrogant person will even admit they have such weakness. That is why it is a wise thing to constantly watch your life closely in this area because pride and arrogance can be a subtle thing. It can lurk in your heart till it throws you down.

Don’t be deceived to live in pride and arrogance. It will cost you. It can get you off the Christian faith, because you may come to a place of not listening to God, or the leaders God has given you.

Never give in to pride, or become arrogant for any reason. Be humble. It will help you stay on track to the end.

Read: Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace not to give in to pride and arrogance. Amen

Manifest God’s Holiness

Leviticus 20:26
“And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.”

The highest call of the believer is call to Holiness. It is not an option, God expects that the born again believer manifests His holiness. This is because you have been made holy in Christ.

You see, holiness is God’s very nature that is imparted to every one who gets born again. The Bible says “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1Peter 2:9).

So you don’t make yourself holy by following do’s and don’ts, being gentle or trying to be moral. No! It is an outcome of God’s gracious work of salvation.

This means that every believer has the capacity to manifest God’s holiness. This divine nature helps us to live a consecrated life; that is a life set apart from all that is sinful, impure, or morally imperfect. Meaning it is possible to avoid sexual immorality, fraud, adultery, bitterness, love for pleasure and to love the things of God. Hallelujah!

Hebrews 12:14 says “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord”. Never say I can’t live holy. It is your very nature. Be conscious of it and walk in it.

Read: 2 Corinthians 7:1
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always walk manifesting your holiness. Amen
