Don’t abuse your freedom in Christ

Galatians 5:13
My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want . Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love”

As a Christian, you have been called and brought into a life of freedom. That is to mean that, you have been given the power to speak, think and act. But this freedom must not be abused or overstretched.

You see, being free does not mean that you must do things without caution or concern.
The freedom we have in Christ must be used to serve the purpose of God and not to abuse our relationship with him.

1 Peter 2:16 says “As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness (evil), but as the servants of God.
The freedom we have in God must rather deepen your love for Him and make you committed to His course.

Exercise your freedom discretionary as a Christian. Don’t just do what you want, because you have the power and opportunity.
Use your freedom to serve God genuinely.

Read: Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will not misuse or abuse this freedom I am enjoying in Christ.

Pray without ceasing

1 Thessalonians 5:17
“be unceasing and persistent in prayer”

The believer that wants great results from prayer must not make prayer a hit and run activity.
If you want to see, tremendous results in life, you must pray always.

Sometimes it is persistent and consistent prayer that gets the job done.
You got stay in the prayer room till God’s glory and power brings the change you desire.
James 5 :16 says that, “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much”. This was the kind of prayer Elijah the prophet employed when he wanted it to rain after three and half years of drought.

You see, any time you want a change in your affairs that also involves other people, may be your home or work place, or church, then you must be persistent and consistent with the prayer to prevail.

Some negative situations of life also demands that you pray always. This aligns you to the will or God or helps you to be receptive spiritually to discern what you are dealing with.

As a Christian, it is always in your best interest when you pray at all times.

Read:Acts 2:42 KJV
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to continue steadfastly in my prayers . Amen

Fight the good fight of faith

1 Timothy 6:12
“FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses”

There are many fights people start or pick up in this world. Sometimes most of these fights are for selfish reasons. Some people fight to offend, and others also fight to defend what is theirs.

Nonetheless, the fight that God wants us to engage in, is the fight for the faith.

Your success in this new life as a Christian largely depends on your ability to fight the good fight of faith. People who miss out in this fight, never live the best of life.

In this fight of faith, you stand on God’s word to resist any attempt of the devil to rob you of your privileges in Christ. God wants you to fight or stand up against anything that wants to rob you of your eternal reward.

As a Christian you have to be more aggressive in the spirit and fight in the spirit, than to engage in physical fights.
The Bible says, the battles or fights we are engaged in is not physical (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

Use the weapon of prayer and fasting, constant word study, confession of scriptures, and praise and worship to fight off any attack against your faith in the Lord by the devil.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from your space. This is how to enjoy the blessings God has bestowed upon you.

Read: James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”

Prayer: Lord, thank you that every form of attack against my faith, and every blessing I have received from you shall come to nothing. Amen

Honour ministers of the gospel.

Mark 6:4
“Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor (respect) except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.”

One of the outstanding remarks Jesus made to the critics of his days was that, “a prophet is not without honour”. Meaning that, a prophet has honour.

You see, anyone called into the Lord’s work deserves to be honoured. That’s to say that ministers of the gospel; prophets, apostles, pastors, teachers and evangelist must be honoured.

Honour is regarding someone or something with great respect. It is also denotes the quality of being honest towards God’s ministers.

Despite all the hue and cry people make about the ministry and the Lord’s anointed ministers. The truth still stands – “the ministry and the Lord’s anointed ministers is something honorable”. Hebrews 5:4 says “…no one takes this honor on himself, BUT ONLY WHEN CALLED BY GOD…”.
It is God who confers HONOUR unto the ministry and its ministers.

Genuine ministers of the gospel have to sacrifice all their comfort to respond and obey the call of God. Some may go to the point of dying for the gospel. Apostle Paul wrote once said “I don’t count my life dear unto myself” (Acts 20 :24).

Learn to treat ministers of the gospel with respect. Appreciate their effort and never do anything that will disdain them or put their ministry into disrepute.

Read: Romans 13:7 “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due ; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour”

Pray: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to honour ministers of the gospel.

Your work will be tested!

1 Corinthians 3:13
“Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is”.

Every person on earth has a duty and a responsibility to discharge towards God. Our duty towards God is our “works”.

Nonetheless, God shall judge everyone’s work. Whatever you do for God will one day go through a quality test. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:13 that “fire will test the quality of each person’s work”

Beloved, give a second thought to what you are doing for God. Are you doing it with the right motive, and attitude ? Are you doing it with the right approach?
Remember that God considers your heart anytime you are doing something for him and with him. 1 Samuel 16:7 “…The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

You see, your reward in heaven, shall be based on the quality of things you did with your life for the Lord.
Thus, the fact that you are doing something for the Lord doesn’t mean you will CERTAINLY be rewarded. No! Not at all.

You see, until you carry out your task well before the Lord, you will not be blessed from it.

Know that your quality works will be the proof for a heavenly reward. Press on and work well for the Lord. Give yourself constantly to working for the Lord. Though many will regret for giving themselves over to “works of evil”, don’t let that be your lot.

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:58 ‘Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].” (AMP)

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to sincerely live out my life before you and to do your bidding with the right heart and attitude.

Build a Godly Character

Character is simply the way a person thinks, feels and behaves. Your character also is the sum total of your emotional and moral qualities. Your character is therefore an important determinant to your success in life.

As Christians, God expects us to have an exceptional character. That’s to say that, our character must reflect or be consistent with the virtues in the Word of God.

For instance, as a Christian you must think right. You must set your mind on worthy, and holy things. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

You see, until you decide to build a godly character, you can’t have one. This is why, we have some Christians with STRANGE and BAD characters.

Beloved, never delay to build a godly character as a Christian. Follow this two keys to help you build a godly and sound character.
First, keep the right company. The association you keep has power to influence your character negatively or positively. (See 1 Corinthians 15:33).

Second, renew your mind with God’s word. Nothing changes a person like the truth in God’s word. Thus, against every odd, learn God’s word to change your mind and obey it as well. This is how you can have a beautiful character.

Beloved, having a bad character can’t send you anywhere. Yes!, you may succeed to begin some things in life, but your bad character will destroy everything. It is just a matter of time.

Character matters are serious. Don’t remain unconcerned. Your character influences your career prospects, your character influences your relationship and marriage, your character influences your ministry. In fact, your character influences everything you do. Work on it now and you will have your peace tomorrow.

Read: Romans 5:3-4 “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character ; and character, hope.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to build a godly character. Amen

Study God’s word

2 Timothy 2:15-16
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”

Nothing makes you unique and daring in life, like studying God’s word.
You see, it takes study to know some truths in the Word of God. Thus, until you give yourself to studying God’s word, you will remain shallow in spiritual things and ignorant.

Studying God’s word demands that, you make time for God’s word and also pay attention to every details written in it.
You see, studying God’s word is an intentional activity. You can’t be passive and casual with the word, and expect to grasp THE TRUTH.

Anytime you develop a casual approach to studying the word you limit your knowledge of the revelations in the word.

Remember that it is what you know in the Word that gives you an upper hand in the world. Proverbs 11:9 declares that, through knowledge shall the just be delivered unto their possession. It takes knowledge to take hold of your possessions in Christ. When you lack knowledge, you become a victim of circumstance. Not only that, you can also die by that. (Hosea 4:6).

Make studying God’s word a daily practice. Folks who study the word train their human spirit, grow steadily in the Lord, and they can’t be easily carried away with false teachings or practices.
Be a Christian who is given to constant study of the word.

Read: Acts 17:11 “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to constantly study your word and do what it says.

Live by wisdom.

Proverbs 4:5,7
“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”

Wisdom is a force. It is the truth of God’s word that reveals some mysteries about life. The wisdom in God’s word covers every aspect of human life.

One fact that must remain with you is that, wisdom is fundamental to living a successful life. It is important to get wisdom and to also engage its principles in your daily life.

You see, any life devoid of wisdom will end in struggle and failure.
Success, whether in business, marriage, ministry, health or financial matters is always predicated on wisdom.
Wisdom teaches you know how things work. It delivers into your hands they keys and principles that enables you to rightly apply any knowledge you receive.

The Bible in the book of Proverbs 24:3 says “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established”.
Thus, to build things in life or cause things to happen is by wisdom.

Without wisdom you can’t build anything in life. Folks who don’t make wisdom operational in their life or live by wisdom scarcely do something remarkable in life.

Don’t forget that your personal life, your family life, career and ministry can only see progress when you engage wisdom. Remember that things JUST DON’T HAPPEN. Having great results in life, is work. It is based on how you constantly engage the principles of wisdom.

Read: Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to subscribe to the wisdom in your word. Amen.

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth

Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God]”

It is the blessings of God that make the difference in the life of the believer. Thus, seeking God and putting righteousness first benefits the believer. Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need”. This is why you must seek God first and not wealth.
Job 36:11 says, “If righteous people listen and serve [him], they will live out their days in prosperity and their years in comfort”. Never undermine serving and living for the Lord. That is the channel for any blessing.

God’s blessing gives the believer a holistic benefit. When you are blessed of the Lord, it affects your body, soul, and spirit. The Bible says in 3John 2 that I wish above all things that you may be in health and prosper even as your soul prospers.

You see, you can’t take God out of your endeavors and expect to be wealthy. Deuteronomy 8:18 says “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day”.

It is God that gives you the power, the ability, and the wisdom to make wealth. Anytime you relegate God from your endeavors, it is a recipe for failure.

Read: James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your blessings that brings me prosperity and wealth. Amen

You are the one for the job

Judges 6:11-12, 14 “The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

It is very important to know that God has equipped you with what it takes to do his will and any assignment for your life. This is what makes you the man or woman for the job.
Gideon’s life was a classic example of this subject. When Israel was invaded by the Midianites every hope for a deliverer was lost. The Israelites were held in fear, and everyone went into hiding including a man called Gideon.

Nonetheless, in the midst of all these, God still had a deliverer or a savior for them. It was no other person, than a man from amongst them. He was Gideon. But until such time that God’s angel appeared to him, he was also in hiding.
Beloved, until you know that you are the man for the job you will always keep looking around for someone else.

As Christians, we are the “Gideons” of these times. We have what it takes to break asunder the power of evil, and any form of satanic oppression in our homes, workplaces, churches, and the countries we live in. Just as Gideon was told to go in “his might”, we must also go all out in the power of the Holy Spirit to do wonders for God.

Sometimes it is worrying to see believers who ought to be the solution to the ills of our world do nothing about it. Some also shift the responsibility to others to engage in nonessential matters. The truth is that we are in the days when believers must stand out and live up to task. You don’t have to run away from responsibilities. You must stand your grounds and do something excellent.
The bible says we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Mathew 5:13-14). Live out your mandate fully. You have something to do and to give to this generation.

Read: Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to do exploits. Amen
