Be strong !!!

1 Corinthians 16:13
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong”.

Continuing in the faith requires inner strength. That is to say that, you have to be strong – spiritually and mentally.

You see, life is not without challenges or difficulties. Whether you like it or not, you will go through different phases in your life. Every phase comes with its own unique opportunities and challenges.

Sailing through this uncalculated and sometimes weird moments demands that you have to be strong. You need strength- spiritually and mentally to keep a proper disposition when you are faced with all these challenges.
You need strength to handle betrayals, disappointments, regrets, hardships, persecutions and sometimes your own mistakes.

Don’t forget that your strength is most often revealed in times of trouble. That’s when it is needed most. Don’t fall away from the Lord when things get tough.
Pray! It will keep you empowered.
Study the word! It will build you spiritually and mentally to be tough.

Whatever happens, BE STRONG. Stand your grounds for the Lord and what you believe!

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to stay strong in times of trouble, difficulty and persecution. Amen

You are not a slave to sin

Romans 6:14
“For sin shall no longer be your master…”

Being born again sets you free from the power of sin. The grace of God that brings salvation, breaks the influence of sin over your spirit and undo the sinful nature you once carried.

Nonetheless, living out the “sin free mandate” is a choice.
You must come into terms with the truth of the new identity you have in Christ to let go of every evil, wrong, or bad deeds you once subjected your life to.

Ephesians 4:22 says “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires“.
You see, at salvation God is now at work in you and has given you the power to put off every old way of life.
In Ephesians 4 again, the Bible teaches the believer to put off the following acts: lying, stealing, fruad, immorality, anger, bitterness, speaking vulgarly.

Never take sin lightly. It is not something you must meddle with after salvation.Sin is not a friend of anybody. It is a hideous enemy. It’s out with subtlety to disappoint destiny.
Sin is not a lifter, it is a destroyer! Sin is not a promoter, it is a demoter!

Read: Romans 6:22 “But now since you have been set free from sin and have become [willing] slaves to God, you have your benefit, resulting in sanctification [being made holy and set apart for God’s purpose], and the outcome [of this] is eternal life.”

Prayer: Lord, i thank you for making free from sin, I pray for grace not to walk under the power of sin anymore. Amen

Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven

Matthew 6:20
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal”.

Storing up treasures for yourself in heaven, simply means investing in things that has eternal value.
Every Christian must make this great insight from Jesus a priority in order not to miss out on eternal rewards one day.

You see, just as in the natural world or life, people make investment or engage in activities that will yield some return, God wants you not to lose sight of the same principle when it comes to eternal things.

The Bible teaches that, no investment in this world is safe and can guarantee success or whatsoever. Here on earth, wealth, riches and honour is not forever.
That’s why every serious Christian must know what to actually “die hard” for.

You see, if all that you are labouring for is limited to this world, you have indeed laboured in vain. Living in this world is a preparation or a dress rehearsal for the next life with the Lord. Thus, it matters what you invest in, it matters what takes your energy, it matters what takes your time and it matters what you make your priority.

Do something that will give you a reward in the next life. Don’t forget the reality that the next life is eternal (forever) whether spent in Heaven or Hell.

Read: Colossians 3: 1 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to labor for things that have eternal value and reward. Amen

Overcome evil with good

Romans 12:21
“Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good”.

The life of the believer must be characterised by victory. As a Christian you are an overcomer and a conqueror. One of the things we defeat or overcome in this world is evil.

You see, despite the fact that the world lies under the sway of the evil one, the Christian is not powerless to deal with such happenings.
Romans 8:37 says “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].” Thus whatever evil that is prevalent in this end time, you have power over it.

Just like Christ, you have been anointed to do good anywhere and at anytime (Acts 10:38, 1 John 2:20). The anointing or the power of the Holy Spirit in your life enables you to defeat and overcome evil.

Constantly engage the grace, the anointing, and the wisdom of God in you to overcome every evil in life- sin and sickness. This is how you can overcome evil with good.

Read: Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always overcome evil with good no matter what happens. Amen

Don’t live in fear.

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.

Living in fear is not God’s will for believers. Thus, as a Christian you must resist every temptation to live in and with the fear of the devil, and every satanic onslaught.

You see, when you live in fear, you allow the spirit of fear to rule, dominate and influence your life. Fear is not a feeling as some people think. Fear is more than a feeling. It is an evil spirit from the pit of hell that brings a sense of insecurity into the mind of the believer. It is a spirit that brings torments or torture to the believer and creates a sense of inferiority complex.

People who live in fear are limited. Their minds are most often negative towards life. Fear has limited people from attaining greater heights in life than any other thing has. It is fear that keeps people from advancing in life. It is a spirit that retards progress and brings stagnation. Some folks have let the spirit of fear dominate them to the extent that they no longer remain at ease in life.

As a believer you got to stand your ground and resist this evil spirit. You must not live with the spirit of fear having the best of you. You have the spirit of boldness and of love.

Don’t let the fear of the future, the fear of death which are some of the activities of the spirit of fear hold you captive.
Break forth and shine!
No more FEAR.

Read: Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Prayer: Lord I pray that I will not be held bound by the spirit of fear. Amen

Selflessness, the path to greatness

Philippians 2:4-5
“Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility]”.

Selflessness or being concerned with other people’s interests is one sure way to greatness in life. It was the path Jesus took that has brought us liberty and also gave him a name above all names.

You see, being selfless is a choice. It is a decision you must make and carry out from your heart.
Selflessness is not a spiritual gift and neither is it a talent.
Thus, until you commit yourself to being selfless, you won’t live with that “mandate”.

As Christians, we must follow the example of Jesus when it comes to being selfless. The Bible says that He stripped himself off his reputation and glory, to put the interest of humanity first. He suffered, and went through humiliation just to be a blessing to the entire human race.

Today, it is your turn to be selfless. Will you follow the Lord’s example ? Have you put aside your status and reputation to promote the course of God? Can you sacrifice your life, time, money and gifts for others? Prioritize this great act now.

Remember that, your greatness is not in being selfish or putting your interest first.

Read: 1 Corinthians 9:22 “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some “

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to follow the example of Christ when it comes to being selfless. Amen

Receiving the promises of God through faith.

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Living by faith is the surest way to receive anything from the Lord. As Christians, its our mandate to walk by faith since it is the only way to please our Heavenly Father .

The Bible or the word of God contains promises on every subject and on every single detail of our lives. But how can we receive or have access to all these promises? It’s only through faith!

You see, it’s by faith that the people of old obtained the promises of God.
GThey obeyed the word of the Lord concerning their lives without wavering.

Taking God by his word and acting on it is what brings us the results we desire. Nonetheless, believing God doesn’t mean the absence of challenges or temptations to doubt. Rather it is staying strong and holding on to the promises in the face of all these challenges.

What are you believing God for today?
Never give up! Study the word. Build your faith. Confess the word and live it out.

Read: Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that by grace through faith I will receive every promise you have made concerning my life. Amen

Get understanding!

Proverbs 4:7
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”.

You need understanding to thrive in life. That’s why the Bible says in all that you will get, GET UNDERSTANDING.

To “understand” means to know or realize how or why something happens. It also means to know how something works or why it is important.
Understanding also means knowing or realizing the meaning of words, a language, what somebody says, etc.

You see, reading something or hearing what is being said is not synonymous to having understanding. Knowing what is said, why it is said, reveals that you have understanding.

As a Christian, your understanding of the word of God is what will bring you into your God-given destination. Not only that, when you have understanding to issues in life, you are able to make wise choices, relate well with people and even have some opportunities.
Pray that the Lord will give you the heart of understanding.

Read: 2 Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will give me a heart of understanding. Amen

Speak evil of no man.

1 Peter 3:10
“For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech”.

As Christians, God expects that we speak ill of no man. James 3:2 tells us that we have control over our body once we have control over our speech.

Thus one virtue you must practice in life when it comes to what you say, is “NEVER SPEAK EVIL OF ANY MAN”.
Titus 3:2 makes this truth more clearer. “Speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men”.

To speak evil of no man demands that don’t utter or make defamatory statements injurious to the reputation or well-being of other persons. It means that, you must not practice slander, gossip, backbiting or give false accusations about people.

You see, words are such that, any word carelessly spoken cannot be taken. Thus any bad information you pass out about someone even in a passive way can go a long away to destroy the person or ruin their future.
Today there are many people hurting and suffering because of something that someone said about them.

Not only that, many meaningful relationships have being crushed because of slander.
Proverbs 16:28 says “A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends. How many times have people become alienated because of slander other people spread about them?

From today, be a master of speaking. Let no evil proceed of your mouth about someone.

Read: Psalms 101:5 “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always allow good and encouraging words to proceed out of my mouth. Amen

The power of the spoken word

Mark 11:23
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them”

In the scripture above, Jesus showed the tremendous power in the words we speak.
This truth was made known to the disciples after Jesus had spoken to a fig tree that dried up afterwards.

You see, when Jesus spoke to the tree in the natural, nothing happened. That’s why the disciples never questioned Jesus.
See Mark 11:14 -Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.

Nonetheless, as they passed the next day, the tree had died out. Mark 11:20 says “In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots”
Meaning that, when the “words” were released something happened spiritually. The tree actually died out. It just needed time to manifest.

As you go about your Christian life, know that there is power in the words you speak. You can speak your healing, deliverance or blessings. Never speak words that will hold you in bondage.

Read: Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit”

Prayer: Lord, from today I refrain from speaking words that will hold me in bondage but rather speak life in situations. Amen
