Give honour to whom honour is due

Romans 13:7
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due ; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour“.

Whoever you relate with or the relationships you have, puts you under some divine obligation.
There are people you have to honour or hold in high esteem.

Reading from Romans 13:1, the Bible makes it clear that, leaders or people that God has put over you deserves to be respected and honoured. In your home, you must respect and honour your parents, in the church you must respect and honour your pastor or spiritual father.

Not only that, any relationship that puts you under a certain authority demands your respect and honour. The Bible says it as something you owe. Meaning that you must do what is right by paying what you owe.

In honouring people that God has blessed you with demands that you don’t speak evil of them, criticize them, or disregard their instructions.

Whatever happens don’t disrespect and dishonour whoever deserves to be respected and honoured by you. Obey God’s word on this matter.

Read:1 Peter 2:17 “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor”

Prayer Lord, I pray for wisdom and grace to respect and honor any relationship you have placed me under. Amen

Are you in trouble? Pray!

James 5:13
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise”.

No trouble is beyond solution or remedy. But until you engage God, you will be discouraged in life by the troubles you will encounter.

It is undoubtedly true that life is not without trouble. In life, you are likely to encounter one difficulty or the other. They may be inconveniences, harassments, hardships and sometimes pains but in all these trying moments you are not left alone. God says pray. He wants you to allow him into your life to turn these “dark moments” for your good.

This is to tell you that God is concerned about you and wants you to be “trouble free”.
Never allow any trouble to overwhelm and drain you.
Pray it out! Pray it down!

When you pray, God’s grace will abound unto you and your joy in the Lord will be complete (John 16:24).
When you don’t pray in times of trouble, you will bear a “needless pain”.

Read: 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always resort to prayer for every life’s trouble and change. Amen

Lack of knowledge destroys

Isaiah 5:13
“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst”.

Lack of knowledge especially on your rights and privileges as a Christian leads to bondage. Any time you walk in ignorance, you subject your life to suffering. The Bible says “Therefore my people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).

Lack of knowledge, causes you to be mentally enslaved by the wrong things or the deception of the devil. Lack of knowledge of knowledge causes people to perish because they don’t have the knowledge that will bring the deliverance.

You see, you can’t make it in life when you are mentally enslaved. You can walk as a free able bodied personality, but when you don’t know God’s word you can be oppressed and suppressed by the devil and his cohorts.

Rise out from the pit of ignorance by voraciously feeding on the right stuffs. Learn! Learn the word of God.

The Bible says honourable men like believers are famished because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).
Rise and study to show yourself approved unto God as a workman that needs not to be ashamed.

Read: John 8:32. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the knowledge you’ve made available to me, I pray for grace to know and to walk in it. Amen

Speak evil of no man.

1 Peter 3:10
“For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech”.

As Christians, God expects that we speak ill of no man. James 3:2 tells us that we have control over our body once we have control over our speech.

Thus one virtue you must practice in life when it comes to what you say, is “NEVER SPEAK EVIL OF ANY MAN”.
Titus 3:2 makes this truth more clearer. “Speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men”.

To speak evil of no man demands that don’t utter or make defamatory statements injurious to the reputation or well-being of other persons. It means that, you must not practice slander, gossip, backbiting or give false accusations about people.

You see, words are such that, any word carelessly spoken cannot be taken. Thus any bad information you pass out about someone even in a passive way can go a long away to destroy the person or ruin their future.
Today there are many people hurting and suffering because of something that someone said about them.

Not only that, many meaningful relationships have being crushed because of slander.
Proverbs 16:28 says “A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends. How many times have people become alienated because of slander other people spread about them?

From today, be a master of speaking. Let no evil proceed of your mouth about someone.

Read: Psalms 101:5 “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that your spirit will control my tongue such that I will speak no evil to anyone. Amen

He is a MIRACLE working God

Exodus 14:13 KJV
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

The Christian is never disadvantaged in life because God always works out a miracle when the race seems to be tough.

Unbelievers get stranded when the arm of flesh fails them. God is the dependable one who never changes, he has told us in his word that he changeth not. Many believe that God’s dealings with his children is void of miracles. They normally say “the days of manner are over”. How can this be true when the giver(God) of manner is not Over?

Be encouraged and know that he is still in the miracle business; He still raises the dead, heals the sick, cleanses the leper and heals the blind. In fact, he still opens the sea, keeps people safe in the Lion’s den, and delivers people from prison . This is becauses he changeth not.

Which miracle of old did you hear that you are doubting of its efficacy? Just name it and God is ready to perform. Moses calls it the SALVATION OF THE LORD.

The miracles of God are there to save us and make a way where there seems to be no way. Just stand still and expect a Miracle Today! MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN!

Read Exodus 14:13-14
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always believe to experience your miracle in my life. Amen

Be strong!!!

1 Corinthians 16:13
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong”.

Continuing in the faith requires inner strength. That is to say that, you have to be strong – spiritually and mentally.

You see, life is not without challenges or difficulties. Whether you like it or not, you will go through different phases in your life. Every phase comes with its own unique opportunities and challenges.

Sailing through this uncalculated and sometimes weird moments demands that you have to be strong. You need strength- spiritually and mentally to keep a proper disposition when you are faced with all these challenges.
You need strength to handle betrayals, disappointments, regrets, hardships, persecutions and sometimes your own mistakes.

Don’t forget that your strength is most often revealed in times of trouble. That’s when it is needed most. Don’t fall away from the Lord when things get tough.
Pray! It will keep you empowered.
Study the word! It will build you spiritually and mentally to be tough.

Whatever happens, BE STRONG. Stand your grounds for the Lord and what you believe!

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be strong in all situations that life brings to me in Jesus name. Amen

Be sensitive to spiritual things

Romans 8:5
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires”

It matters what you are sensitive to. You can be sensitive to your flesh and you can also be sensitive to the Spirit of God. But there is nothing pleasing to God or that glorifies God like being sensitive to the Spirit.

You see, the Christian life is a spiritual walk. It is therefore important to place premium on spiritual things (the voice of the Spirit, God’s word and biblical instructions from God’s servants) than carnal or earthly things.

People who undermine spiritual things in their walk with God never make much progress.

The born again believer has been made alive spiritually. Ephesians 2:1 says “And you hath he quickened (made alive), who were dead in trespasses and sins”. Meaning that you have the capacity to relate with spiritual things. To the Christian getting along with spiritual things must be the normal way of life. That’s to say, you shouldn’t look at things from man’s perspective or the freshly mindset to the neglect of the word.
In any case, anything outside this must rather be considered abnormal.

Being sensitive to the spiritual things involves your alertness to the promptings and leadings of the Holy Spirit, and being able to flow with the signals your human spirit picks as you go about your daily life. Your success as a Christian depends more on ” spiritual things” than anything else.

Train yourself to be spiritually minded. Never let your flesh and earthly things deaden your sensitivity to the things of the spirit.

Read: Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace not to be carnal but to be spiritually minded in Jesus name. Amen

It all comes down to Love!

1 Corinthians 13:13 says “And now abides faith, hope and love: but the greatest of these is love” Anytime we talk about love, just consider Jesus. He is the perfect example for us in our journey of love. The Bible says,” God demonstrated his love towards us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us”

It is very easy and simple to love under perfect conditions. In fact, even unbelievers can do that. Nonetheless, as Christians, we’ve been called to demonstrate the God kind of love.

When all the world seems to be against you, when people could hardly lift a finger to help you, and when people abuse the love you demonstrate towards them, still walk in love.
Many may think of you as a fool. But you are God’s hero. Heaven sees another “God – kind”.

Sometimes love does not mean the absence of awkward and heart breaking situations. Rather, it is the refusal of such happenings to determine your mood. It is refusing to walk in bitterness and still have the courage to pursue God’s agenda.

Never develop a critical spirit because of offences. Your mandate is to love. Remember that, the love of God is shared abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Draw from your love account daily and it will always be a heaven on earth experience.
It all comes down to love.
Philadelphia! —“Let brotherly love continue”

Read: 1 Corinthians 16:14 “Do everything in love”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that your grace will always abound unto me to daily walk in love. Amen

Be separated into the Lord

2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you,

The Christian is called to live a life of dignity and sanctity. In fact, we are called to display the virtues, excellences and perfections of Christ. You can’t be born again and still be worldly and ungodly. NO! Not at all.

Unbelievers are of the world and don’t care what they do with their life though they owe it to God.
Born again folks are of the Lord and they live to please Him. That is why ungodly friendships and alliances will get you nowhere. You must be different in all respect. You can’t talk like the people of the world; you can’t walk their walk and dance their dance. In fact, you can’t have similar interest and passion with unbelievers.

You must know that you have being recruited into God’s army of righteous and holy men, and with a unique mission. Therefore, you must never allow the pleasures of this world to entangle the worthy course you are on.

You see, your highest and ultimate priority in life must be to please God. In Galatians 1:10, the Apostle wrote “Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

As Christians, our lives are SOLEY DIRECTED by the word of God and not by ungodly opinions. Come out from anything that is hindering your progress in your walk with God. You were saved to display God’s glory. Live that mandate of DIGNITY! Let the “greater one” in you reflect in your life. SHINE ON…

Read: 2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you,

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to live a separated and sanctified life in this sin dominated world to the glory of God. Amen

Acknowledge the grace of God

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).

To acknowledge something means to accept or admit the existence or truth of something. Acknowledging the grace of God in your life is very crucial.

The great privileges God has bestowed on us must not make us forgetful. You must always admit and confess without any form of hesitation to the world that you are a product of God’s grace.

Interestingly, many people are trapped by pride when they see awesome things happening through them. Instead of appreciating the grace of God they turn be boastful.

Some even use the benefits they have received by grace as business. You see, no one have business doing business with the products of grace. The bible says freely you have received, freely give.
To pride in yourself about your achievements and what you have can take your eyes off God’s Grace. You will finally fall and fail like Lucifer.

Always know that you are what and who you are by Grace. For by Grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8). Never take pride in anything because all you have is the doing of the Lord.

Read: 1 Corinthians 4:7.
For who maketh thee to differ from another ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it ?

Prayer: Lord, I pray this day that I will always acknowledge your grace bestowed on my life and not boastful in my own strength.
