Your seed determines your harvest.

2 Corinthians 9:6 says “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully”.

Every harvest you will get in life is nothing but the results of the kind and amount of your seeds sown.

You see, having a big harvest or great results in life means that you sowed that much. God is always faithful to ensure that when you put in so much at something you will have a great reward.

This principle must guide all that you do in life. You can’t expect so much in life whiles your input or seed is so little. It does not work that way. Although seeds sown or investments don’t give an immediate return they surely show up. Just like a vision, its manifestation is set unto an appointed time.

Never slack when it comes to sowing seeds or investing in things that are worthwhile. It will make your future glorious. Above all sow into spiritual things.

Galatians 6:8 says “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting”.

So when sowing seeds or when investing, remember to place premium on spiritual things. Your fasting and prayers today is a seed, your giving to the work of God is a seed, your sacrifice to working for the Lord is a seed.

It will speak volumes by giving you a bountiful harvest. Start sowing seeds now.

Read: Psalm 126:6
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for wisdom and grace to sow much in order to harvest much in life in Jesus name. Amen

Your seed determines your harvest.

2 Corinthians 9:6 “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully”.

Every harvest you will get in life is because of the kind and amount of seeds you sown. NOTHING just happens. You play a part in the way things goes on in your life.

You see, having a big harvest or a great results in life means that you sowed that much and have also sowed the right kind of seeds. Know that, God is always faithful to ensure that when you put in so much at something you will have a great reward.

This principle must guide all that you do in life. You can’t expect so much in life whiles your input or seed is so little. It does not work that way. Actions That Correspond With Faith

James 2:14 says “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”.

The Bible goes further to say that “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

You see, you can’t have results in life when your actions doesnot correspond with faith. You must always act on the grounds of faith. Believing something by itself will not get the job done when you don’t live it out.

One of the greatest mistakes many believers make is to confess their faith in the Word of God and at the same time contradict their confession by wrong actions.

Kenneth Hagin once wrote on this subject and said, “when we say that we are trusting God to provide for our financial needs, but at the same time we are worrying about how we’re going to pay our bills. There is no corresponding action there”.

As a Christian your faith in the word of God must always inform or determine your actions. Irrespective of the storms that you may face, you must always stay put and act on the word. The word of God is reliable and always works.

That is how to make your actions correspond to your faith. When you receive and believe the word on healing, you don’t remain glued to that sick bed any longer. You get up from that bed and start to do that which you could not do before. It may be gradual, but that is a corresponding action to your faith and it will make your healing to fully manifest.

Don’t believe the word and do the opposite of it. It won’t bring you any results.

Read: James 2:18.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that henceforth my actions will correspond with my faith in Jesus name. Amen

Your heart will follow your “treasure”

Matthew 6:21
“for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also”.

No one desires for something or wishes for something without a cause. Our desires, wishes, or what we esteem tells what is in our hearts.

In our opening text, Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.
You see, everyone’s life directly and indirectly reflects this truth.
This is because where your treasure is, or what you value will determine what you will give your heart or life to.

Most of our actions as individuals or Christians are not accidental. What we do or don’t do comes from “deep engrossed” convictions in our hearts.

What do you value the most and what do you consider precious? The answer to this question tells the direction of your heart?

It is important to know that, where people invest also reveals this truth. Believers who give their time, money, and life to the things of God, sees the kingdom as a treasure. People who hardly give anything to the kingdom of God don’t value it in their hearts.

As Christians, we must not only treasure earthly things. Knowing very well that this life is and its treasures are transient ( 1John 2:17). Hence, what you describe as a “treasure” must be eternal or must have great eternal value.

Never set your heart or life on things that can’t be recognized by God when your days on this earth are over.
Set your heart on treasures that won’t fade away.

Read:Colossians 3:1″If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to set my heart on the right things. Help me to make eternal investments.

Care for others

Philippians 2:4
“not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others”

Other people’s interest and concerns must matter to you as a Christian. God doesn’t expect you to look away from people when it is in your power to help them. Proverbs 3:27 says “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”

You see, most people in the world hardly take into account the interest in others. In fact, almost everyone is on a journey to maximise their personal interest without a concern for any brother or sister. Thus, the genuine care that comes from the bowels of love has been ignored.

Nonetheless, God wants believers to be different. God demands that you show concern and care for others just as you would to yourself.

Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Philippi about the exceptional life of Timothy on this subject.
“I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel”
(Philippians 2:19-22)

Care about others. Show genuine concern or attention about someone, especially regarding their welfare.

You see, you can’t express love without the element of care. Hence, whenever love is in motion, care is automatically displayed. You must learn to show great concern for the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of others. Not just showing concern but making efforts to help where is needed. Care without any action is merely sympathy.

You see, the number one reason why you must care for others is because God cares for you. “Casting all your care upon him(God), for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

From today, let your love be characterized by genuine care. Don’t only look at your interest.

Read: Philippians 4:10
“But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for the grace to care about others. Amen

Not as I will, but as You will Lord

Matthew 26:39
“And after going a little farther, He(Jesus) fell face down and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible [that is, consistent with Your will], let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Following God’s will is the assured way to fulfil your destiny. Nonetheless, until you are able to let go of your own will, God’s will may never prevail in your life.

In our opening text, we see Jesus in prayer for God’s will to prevail and not his will.
This is to tell you that, everyone has a choice to either subscribe to the will of God or allow their own will or ambition to guide them.

You must know that, at any point in time, God expects you to live in a particular way or do something particular in life- this is what God’s will means.
But this may come face to face with your will or desires. Thus, it is now in your decision to allow the will of God to prevail or do otherwise

In Mathew 26, Jesus had to make a decision about which “will” he must allow when he was on earth. He had his own will to live and not to suffer, which was against the will of God that wants him(Jesus) to suffer and die to save mankind. But he stood against his own will and allowed God’s will to prevail.

In following God’s will, he become a victor and also received a name above every other name (Phillipians 2:9). But before all these happenings, he had to let or allow his will to “fall” for God’s will to stand.

Remember that, if you allow God’s will to prevail in your life, you will have his best. Don’t be stubborn or harden your heart to throw away the will of God.

Read: Mark 3:35 “For whoever does the will of God [by believing in Me, and following Me], he is My brother and sister and mother.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to follow your will in every situation.
Amen

Resist the devil

John 14:30
“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me”

The devil is the ruler of this present world. This is one truth Jesus taught and also revealed in the epistles.
In Ephesians 2:2 the Bible calls the devil the prince of the power of the air, and in John 16:11 the Bible again calls him the ruler of this world

Knowing this workings or activities of the devil makes you to better position yourself in your walk with the Lord.
As a Child of God, you must know that this world is heavily influenced and ruled by the devil.

You see, the devil’s operation is legal because of the high treason committed by Adam which transferred man’s authority to him.

Understand that, God is not the one running things here on earth, the devil is. That is why he’s got a lot of things messed up- people’s lives, business, education, health, etc. Thus, until you get born again and live by the word, you will be dominated by the devil.

You see, as a Christian, you can keep the devil out of your space by submitting to the Lord, and holding forth the word of God.
Never stay at the mercy of the devil.

James 4:7 says “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your power at work in me. I declare that, the devil has no power over my life

Dangers of pride

1 John 2:16
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”

Pride is one thing you must disallow in your life as a Christian. Being proud or living in pride is not of God. Folks who live in and with pride are operating with the wisdom of the devil. Not only that but pride also has many dangers.

You see, the simplest way to destroy yourself as a Christian is to be proud. Whenever you give in to pride, you miss out on God’s best for your life because you become an adversary of God.

Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom”. Thus, when you are proud you open the door of shame into your life.

Again in Proverbs 13:10, we see that pride brings quarrels or contention.
“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom”

Another thing that pride brings is destruction.
Proverbs 16:18 says “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall”

Finally, pride will bring you low. Folks who are proud will never become significant in life. Proverbs 29:23
“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit”

Be wise and never live in pride. Pride will only destroy and complicate things in your life.
Learn to stay humble always.

Read: Proverbs 15:25
“The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to walk in humility. Deliver me from any proud tendencies.

Forget what is behind and move forward

Philippians 3:13-14
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”

Life in Christ brings us to a new world order. In this world where Jesus is Lord, virtues, godly principles, heavenly wisdom, righteousness, and joy in the Holy Spirit are esteemed.

So as a Christian, God expects you to subscribe to the way of life of His Kingdom. You must never again live by the dictates of your flesh nor must you live by the customs of the sinful world you once belong.

To live your life in Christ to the fullest, you must forget completely the old life you once lived. You must let go of your ambitions that were fleshly inspired, carnal philosophies, and ways of thinking and doing things.

You see, people who don’t forget things of their old life; like ways of thinking and doing things, never excel in their Christian life. Such people keep living their lives oscillating between worldly and godly principles. Thus, at one time you will see them in flow of the Spirit and another time you will wonder whether they are Christians.

To make the most of your Christian life, you must forget what is behind and move forward. You must grow up in the godly principles of the kingdom of God.

Never be a Christian who still accepts the ungodly opinions and principles of your old sinful life! Forget it.

Focus on the new life. Keep your gaze on Jesus and the word of God. Never compromise.

Read: Colossians 3:2
“Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I am freed from the influence of my old sinful life.

Finish well, don’t draw back

Hebrews 10:39
“But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved”.

The Christian life is a lifetime pursuit. It starts from the day you get saved till the day you are received up by the Lord. Thus, the Christian life has no room for stops, and fall outs. So once your faith journey starts, there must be no turning back.

In Hebrews 10:39, the Bible says, “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul”. This means that, when you don’t continue in the faith, you will be destroyed or you will not make it to be with the Lord in the end.

So, now that you are born again and awaiting the Lords return, you must keep growing in the Lord. This is the very reason why the Apostle Paul instructed the Christians in the church of Philippi to continue to work out their salvation with fear and trembling.
The Amplified Bible puts it in a much detailed way.
See Philippians 2:12:
“So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ].

Many Christians have become reluctant in the faith. They have let down the standards and the discipline that goes with being a Christian in the name of “civilization and modernisation”. But, the truth which is God’s word can’t be changed. The essence of God’s word stands sure.

Relaxing the core values that the word of God reveals will lead you astray in the course of time.

Be serious in the faith, make choices that will enhance your progress or maturity in the Lord, and examine yourself daily to see whether you are living to please God or you are just tagging along.

You see, not falling away from the Christian faith comes with being diligent, tough, spiritual, disciplined and faithful. So it is not enough to be a Christian, continue to the end by finishing your God giving purpose.

Read: 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to finish my Christian life well.
