Be wise; your helper may not always be a great person by status.

2 Kings 5:1-3
“Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the Lord had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy. Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman’s wife. She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy”

It is an indisputable that in life we have persons with different statuses. Some people are highly educated, others are not, some are wealthy, others are not, some are anointed and graced uniquely more than others, etc. This general fact notwithstanding, God can decide to use any of these persons of different social or spiritual standing to help the believer.

Our opening text in 2 Kings 5 tells how a general of an army, Naaman, was helped by a young girl serving as a maid in his house. Naaman was a valiant soldier and commander of Aram, and God used him to bring victory to his country, however, he had leprosy. But it took the young slave girl in his house for him to get connected to the prophet Elisha to be healed.

You see, despite Naaman’s rank and authority he listened and obeyed the word of the slave girl. He never despised what he was told because the “young lady” was not of a higher status. When all was said and done, Naaman was made whole of his leprosy (2 Kings 5:14).

The great deliverance of Naaman came by the help a young girl without any great status gave. This is one truth and wisdom that must guide your life. Don’t always think that your help will come from great persons. Somethings, the people that holds the key to your miracle, are the very people you despise, disrespect, disregard, and you are proud towards. Be wise!

Learn greatly from this Rhema. Sometimes it will take a “little” person to connect you to the miracle you have been praying and fasting for. The question is, “when God uses a little person to deliver your package, will you be humble and respectful enough to receiveit” or “your arrogance and pride” will make you forfeit it.

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:16 “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more”

Prayer: Lord, give me the grace and wisdom not to judge people by their status in life

Be wise; make the right choice in life.

Genesis 3:6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”

Life is full of choices. Each and every day you must make a choice to keep going. Nonetheless, the choices you make can impact your life negatively or positively.

You see, we make choices that cut across all spheres of life. Some can be spiritual, social, financial, and moral. But all these choices have its consequences. This makes choices very delicate. A good choice will bless your life and a wrong choice can jeopardize your life for good.

The Bible in our opening text shows the choice of Eve in the garden of Eden. Despite the Lord’s specific instruction on what they were to do in the garden, Eve made a choice contrary to what the Lord expected. Genesis 3:6 says “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”

Eve’s choice was guided by what she saw in the flesh and what she desired. Not long after that, the consequences followed. What They have was lost, and their relationship with God was destroyed (Genesis 3:22-24).

This example is something, every believer must learn from. Don’t just make choices. Learn to consider things carefully, especially the word of God and some specific instructions the Lord might have given you before you make any choice in life.

Never make choices because of the present pleasure and satisfaction it will give you. Think beyond temporary or transient pleasures and satisfactions when making choices.

You see, most people have put their life in a disadvantaged position because of a wrong choice.

Read: Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live”

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunity to make choices in life. I pray for grace and wisdom not to make choices that will jeopardize my life and destiny. Amen.

Be wise; keep a loyal heart

1 Samuel 16:6-7
“When Jesse and his sons arrived, Samuel noticed Jesse’s oldest son, Eliab. “He has to be the one the Lord has chosen,” Samuel said to himself. 7But the Lord told him, “Samuel, don’t think Eliab is the one just because he’s tall and handsome. He isn’t the one I’ve chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts.”

The book of 1st Samuel chapter 16 reveals an important factor that qualifies a person for promotion in the sight of God. In this chapter we saw how God instructed the prophet Samuel to go and anoint someone to replace king Saul who has consecutively disobeyed him. But just like any natural person, the prophet was carried away by the appearances of the sons of Jesse. But God told him that He looks beyond appearances and considers the heart of people. The passage reveals how important our heart is to the Lord.

You see, despite the fact that sometimes appearances can give you some degree of favor before men, that’s not so with God. God will JUDGE you based on what is in your heart. When the prophet Samuel, made it to the house of Jesse, and was attracted to the appearances of his sons, this is what the Lord said, “Samuel, don’t think Eliab is the one just because he’s tall and handsome. He isn’t the one I’ve chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts.” (1 Samuel 16:7).

As a Christian, this insight must guide you in life. You must know that the state of your heart will determine what God will allow into your life or not. This is why the older sons of Jesse missed the opportunity to be the next king of Israel.

What is the state of your heart? Are you loyal to God in your heart? Is your heart full of love and faith or your heart is full of bitterness, and wickedness? The state of your heart will determine the blessings that may come your way. Many Christians are struggling today because they have refused to maintain a perfect heart before the Lord.

Remember, irrespective of how you fake whatever you do in life, you can’t win God’s endorsement or. even receive some breakthroughs from him because He knows your heart. Be real, be wise, and keep a perfect heart. Don’t be a good person on the outside and be a bad person on the inside (in your heart).

Apply this truth in your Christian life daily. As you work for God, watch your heart, as you relate with friends, watch your heart, as you deal with men of God, watch your heart. Beloved, WATCH YOUR HEART. Don’t let it make you lose a great opportunity.

Read: Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to keep a perfect hear before you always. Amen.

Be wise; meditate on the word

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

People may propose various ways to succeed in life, but when it comes to the child of God, one sure way to succeed in life is by meditating on God’s word.

Christians who meditate on God’s word are bound to succeed come what may. To meditate means to mutter or speak the word of God to yourself. It can be talking the word quietly under your breath or roaring it loud. Handling God’s word like this has a way it imparts your spirit and mind. It stirs up in you a divine energy and unction for exploits in life.

You see, many Christians, have only read the word. They have not moved to the next level of meditating on the word for it to dominate every fiber of their being. David the king, knew this truth. No wonder he was great in his days. In Psalm 119:97, he said “How I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day”

Beloved, if you want to programme your life for success, never live a day without meditating on God’s word. You must know that God reveals Himself to you through the Word that you take into your heart. As you meditate on the word by speaking it to yourself, it becomes Rhema (in Greek) – “the active and creative Word”. Meditate on God’s word daily and nothing in the world can stop you from succeeding.

Read: Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? (NIV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me your word, as I mediate on your word daily, my life is programmed for success in everything, I do. Amen

Be wise; take heed to what God has given you

Colossians 4:17
“And say to Archippus, take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.”

God has invested in every Christian. These God given graces, gifts, opportunities, and life must be used to bring glory to his name.

In our opening text, the Apostle Paul by the Spirit admonished Archippus to take heed to the ministry that he has received from the Lord. Just as some people were also encouraged to take the call of God serious (Ephesians 4:1)

You must be conscious of whatever God has blessed you with and make the best out of it. This is what will make you fulfil your destiny. People who became stalwarts in life made use of the divine opportunities and graces that God gave them. We see this truth in the life of Apostle Paul, who said, he became great because he didn’t take God’s grace in vain or neither frustrated the grace (1Corinthians 15:10, Galatians 2:21).

Know that God by his wisdom orders your steps into greatness by the gifts, graces, and the opportunities he gives you. Thus, keeping your focus on what God has blessed you with is a sure way to fulfil your destiny.

Read: Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”

Prayer: Father, I pray for grace and the help of Holy Spirit that nothing will distract me from taking heed to whatever you have given me. Amen!

Be wise; don’t envy unbelievers

Psalm 37:1-3
“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed”

Most often than not, some Christians are caught in the web of comparing themselves with unbelievers who are flourishing in life, and they end up becoming envious. But God’s word says DON’T BE ENVIOUS OF SINNERS WHO are seemingly walking in riches or prospering in life.

You see, INASMUCH AS GOD WANTS YOU TO PROSPER, HE DOESN’T WANT YOUR PROSPERITY TO COME FROM EVIL MEANS. So, in short, God does not want you to prosper by doing evil or sinning. You must know that anything people have in the flesh without God is nothing to be envious or jealous about. In fact, you even don’t have to be envious about anything people have in life. in Luke 12:15, Jesus said “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

You see, people who are rich without God will fade away. The same applies to people who make themselves rich by evil schemes. So irrespective of how glamorous they appear to be, don’t be thrown into awe or don’t admire them. Psalm 37:35-36 says, “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found”. That’s the life of a man that’s not saved.

Instead of becoming envious or allowing your mind to ponder on the uncertain riches and the luxurious life of unbelievers pray for their salvation, serve the Lord, appreciate what the Lord has blesses you with, and be diligent in whatever you do. This is the genuine way to prosper. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need”

Read: Proverbs 23:17 “Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long”

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the blessings you have lavished on me. I pray for grace to stand in this end times and never become envious or jealous of sinners because of what they have.

Be wise; preach the “good news” to win a soul

Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

We are living in an era where the truth of the gospel which is the good news has not reached many. In fact, worldly philosophies and perverted facts is what has captured the minds of many.

This is why Christians must be on the run with the gospel to bring salvation to many. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise”.

Display God’s wisdom by sharing the gospel to sinners. It has the power to save people. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”

Be fervent and ceaselessly go to the highways and byways with the gospel. Don’t slack at this. As a Christian you know and have the gospel that breaks the power of sin and influence of the devil. But until you preach it, people won’t be saved.

People must know that Jesus came to die for them, people must know that they can be delivered from the power of sin and its consequences, people must know that Jesus is a healer, people must know that they can still have a relationship with God, but how can they know unless you and I preach.

Get out from your comfort zone and share the gospel. There are many more to save before all is said and done. Use any means and every means possible to save someone from the grips of the devil.

Obey this duty call and preach the gospel wholeheartedly.

Read: Isaiah 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for saving me. Let me glow with the passion for lost souls and enable me by the power of your precious Holy Spirit to preach to the unsaved. Amen!

Be wise; submit to Authority

Hebrews 13:17 “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”

Submitting to authority is necessary. This is because, it is God that establishes authority. In Romans 13:1, the bible says, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established”. Thus, whether it is an authority in the world of work, governance or the Church, God expects that, people submit to these authorities.

As Christians, God expects us to submit to the authority of the local Church. Hebrews 13:17 says “Obey them that have the rule over you and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”.

This means that as a Christian, when you find yourself in a local church, you don’t run your own show, or you don’t do things in the “opposite” to what you are taught from the word of God.Your submission must make you humble for a particular process, training, and to also comply with every given instruction. This is how order and decency are maintained in the body of Christ, or the church.

It is improper to be in Church, and not submit to authority. People who don’t submit to instructions in Church are in total rebellion. Such people make themselves vulnerable to evil schemes of the enemy. Not only that, some favours and divine guidance don’t come to them.

You must make living in submission to God’s authority your mandate in life. Never make your life contradict the teachings you receive from God’s house. In fact, never try to outsmart your pastor or behave like you are “wiser” than the Spirit of God that is leading the Church.

Read: 1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to submit to the authorities under which you put me. Amen!

Be wise; glorify God in your body

1 Corinthians 6:19
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; it’s God’s house. 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

This means you can’t afford to have your body ravaged by sin, satan, sickness and disease. You must say, “No” to the devil, to cancer, asthma, leukemia, or any kind of sickness or infection!

Understand that though your body is God’s house, it’s your responsibility to keep it flourishing in health in this world. You have the right to decide what happens in your body. Therefore, you must stand your grounds on anything that wants to come up against your body.

Romans 8:13 says, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” This means you’re to put to death or disallow the misdeeds or wrong actions prompted by the body. Paul, writing to the Corinthian Church, explained that we’ll all give account to the Lord for whatever we allow in our physical bodies (2Corinthians 5:10).

You see, it makes no difference how much satan has attacked and tried to ravage your body. Maybe you’re unable to walk, but this is the time to take charge! Command strength into your limbs in the Name of Jesus; declare that you’re strong, healthy, and sound. Affirm vigorously that irrespective of the trouble in your body, greater is He that’s in you, than he that’s in the world. The Spirit of God in your spirit will impact your physical body, ridding it of every pain or infection.

Know that you have authority to effect any changes you want to see in your body. Jesus said, “…Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven…” (Matthew 18:18). The word “bind” also means “forbid” or “disallow.” Therefore, whatsoever you forbid or disallow in your body shall be forbidden or disallowed in heaven. Speak health and life to your body and give yourself enough rest when it’s necessary. Your body was made for beauty and for glory.

Read: Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”

Prayer: Thank you father for the Holy Spirit in me, I declare that I’m vitalized, quickened, and energized in my physical body by the Spirit that dwells in me.

Be wise; Trust in the Lord.

Psalm 71:1
“In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion”

Sometimes people’s experience in life makes them trust in other things instead of TRUSTING IN GOD. Others too express some degree of trust in the Lord when everything is fine and calm around them till, they are faced with daring issues in life. But as Christians, we are to trust the Lord through all the changing scenes of life.

Trusting the Lord means that, you have given your course to Him, and you know that he will deliver no matter what happens. You see, one sign that you trust the Lord is that you remain calm and never live in despair or anxiety despite the happenings around you.

In Psalm 62:8, the Bible says, “TRUST IN HIM AT ALL TIMES; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us…”. This means that trusting God is something we must do daily.

You see, your trust in the Lord must be based on the truth that God is all- sufficient and can deliver on anything, anytime and anywhere. Jeremiah 32:27 says “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Don’t come to God and have an uncertain mind. He can be trusted when everything else fails. 2 Timothy 2:13 says “If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.”

When medicine or medical science gives up on your health situation God can be trusted, when you are faced with rejection, God can be trusted, when you are faced with the storms of this life, God can be trusted, when you are faced with financial hardships, God can be trusted.

Never put your trust in the wrong things. Money, people, human power, political power, etc. These things are transient. Their availability is not guaranteed forever. The Psalmist said “For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. In God we boast all the day long and praise thy name for ever. Selah. (Psalm 44:6-8).

Read: Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust”

Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray for grace to trust you daily. I refuse to give in to fear for by you I run through the troops and overcome the storms of life.
