Faith comes by hearing the word.

Romans 10:17
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”

Knowing how faith comes or how to get faith is important. Without this knowledge you will likely operate with presumption or never get to building your own faith.

Faith is predicated on God’s word. The truth of the word when received and meditated upon brings faith to the heart of the believer. Whether faith for finances, healing, deliverance, marriage, etc, it is in the word of God. You must make a practice of constantly reading, hearing, and mediating on God’s word. This is how to get yourself imparted with truth.

Know that getting faith, or having faith is not something beyond your reach. All you must do is to make yourself available and be attentive to hearing and studying the word.

You see, a casual, undisciplined, and inattentive approach to hearing the word of God or studying the word will only leave you on the shores of doubt and unbelief.

The “less faith action syndrome” or weak faith in most Christians today is self-inflicted. Folks who don’t make time for the word on critical subjects of life will only end up as victims when faced with the challenges on those issues. Just as faith for salvation is initiated and ignited in the hearts of people when they hear the word on Christ’s redemption, you need to hear God’s word on other provisions to be ignited.

Instead of giving your ears and attention to things that don’t bring faith, turn to the word. Turn to it daily. Joshua 1:8 says “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. Read on healing, read on miracles, read on favour, read on prosperity. This is how faith comes.

Hear the word! Hear it actively! Hear it attentively! Hear it in a disciplined way and your faith will be ignited to do exploits in life.

Read: Mark 11:22-23 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

Prayer: Father, I pray that as I hear your word, faith is ignited in my spirit. In Jesus name, Amen!

SEEKING GOD FIRST

Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”

Job 36:11 also says “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

Many things crave for our attention as Christians. But we must never hesitate to things in the rightful place in our life. First things first must be the rule.

This means that as Christians we must give God his rightful place. God is second to none. We must never relent to put him first in all we do. Putting God first tells how much value we put on God. Not only that, but it also reveals our love and respect for the Lord.

When you put God first you will spend your days in prosperity and your years in pleasures. The prosperity that brings peace and unending joy in your heart only comes from God. Proverb 10:22 says “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

It is in seeking God and putting him first that makes things go in your favour. God causes all grace to abound to you any time you put Him first. Seeking God first means that you give him the first place in all that you do. This includes your life, your work, your marriage, and your pursuit of success and all that concerns you.

Where have you placed God and His kingdom on your scale of preference? In fact, putting God second means all things shall be subtracted from you. Anything other than seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness first will fail. Place God and His kingdom first and you will be first in all your endeavours.

If you seek the purposes and the plans of God’s kingdom, you will never go on a wild goose chase trying to find riches, wealth and honour. Don’t forget that, looking for prosperity must not lead you to forget God’s kingdom and your quest to walk in His righteousness. People who pursue riches and wealth without God turn to make money as their “god”.

Read: Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

Prayer: Father, I pray that my life will always be tailored on seeking you. I declare as I seek you, prosperity and abundance will always be my portion. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

Sin brings sickness

Psalms 38:3
“There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.”

The connection between sin and sickness is something the Child of God must fully understand.

The Bible reveals that sin is one major cause of sickness. Psalm 107:17 says “Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities”. Other versions says, “Others were foolish. They suffered (became sick) because of their sins”.

Nothing can be far from this truth. Walking in sin makes you open to become sick. Sin breaks your fellowship with God and brings you out of His divine covering. You must know that walking in sin as a Christian breaks the hedge of God around you. It gives the devil easy access to your life to afflict you with sickness which is incipient death. Ecclesiastes 10:8 says “…and whoever breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him”.

You see, you must understand that living in disobedience or sin will cost you a lot. Jesus once healed a man who was taken ill and instructed him not to sin again lest a worst thing will come to him. See John 5:14,  “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

Living in divine health has more to do with how you obey God’s word. You will live in divine health as you dwell daily in God’s word by faith. Learn to walk worthy of God and never break your fellowship with God by living in sin.

Read: Psalm 107:17, “Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will live my life according to dictates of the word. Sin is declared inactive in my life. In Jesus name, Amen!

Honour ministers of the gospel

1Timothy 5:17
“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”

Honouring ministers of the gospel is a must and not a suggestion. You can’t take ministers of the gospel for granted and be blessed by their ministries. You must honour them by obeying the word of God they teach, not speaking evil about them and also giving to them out of your substance.

Jesus said in Mark 6:4 that “A prophet is not without honor except in his home town and among his own relatives and in his own household”. The above verse in the gospel of Mark was the response Jesus gave to his kinsfolk when they could hardly accept his ministry. The Bible says a prophet is not without honour, meaning that a prophet is with honour.

For instance in the case of Jesus, even though he was God sent to redeem humanity he was not accepted by his own. Instead of them appreciating and honouring the grace of God, they subjected it to criticism. They knew Jesus so much that they could not accept him as God sent.

There are many folks today like that. They find it difficult to relate spiritually with ministers of the gospel. Instead of positioning themselves to be blessed, they rather become critics and familiar with Men of God.

The Shunammte woman in 2Kings 4 understood the truth of honouring a man of God. See 2 Kings 4:9-10, “She said to her husband, “I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. 10 Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.”

Today you have a man of God in your life, your Pastor who toils for you day and night. when problems come, you ask the Pastor to pray for you, when the circumstances seem too difficult, you seek his advice and guidance. Yet when was the last time you blessed him? When was the last time you fell on your knees and prayed fervently for him? When was the last time you said, Pastor thank you for all you do for us, here is a small gift as token of appreciation?

Let us not become ignorant of loving, serving and giving back onto the men of God who have been anointed as a caretaker of our souls. Do not become critical and stingy in blessing your Pastor. God wants to bless you through him. Honor him with the best so that God can honor you through him with His best.

Don’t get carnal or familiar in dealing with men of God especially your pastor. Learn to honour your pastor and ministers of the gospel in general.

Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 “And now, friends, we ask you to honour those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my life is a life of honouring ministers of the gospel. In Jesus name, Amen!

Be careful what you hear.

Mark 4:24
“And he said unto them Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given”.

What you allow into your ears has the power to make you or destroy you. You can be imparted negatively or positively from what you hear. Thus, the instruction from Jesus is very crucial.

Just as the Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God so also does unbelief comes from hearing words of men and the devil. Anything you hear or allow into your mind comes with something. If you allow the word of God into your ears it will build faith, courage and give you a sound mind. On the other hand, if you also allow the ungodly opinions of men and the voice of the devil into your ears it will build fear and unbelief in you.

Don’t just allow people to say all kinds of things around you, especially when it is not inclined towards building you up. If you allow talks of fear, sin, and doubt, your life will follow suit. It does not matter which channel is bringing you what message, always be guided by wisdom before you pay heed.

Carefully select the songs you give your ear to, be mindful of words or statements people will make going forward around you and you can be assured of an unending flow of grace in your life.

Read: Ephesians 4:29, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

Prayer: Father, I pray that my ears are closed to wrong words and open and accessible to right words. In Jesus name, Amen!

Speak the word

Matthew 8:8
“The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed”

Anytime you speak God’s word or confess the word out of faith, it brings awesome results. The Bible tells how Jesus was called upon by a Roman centurion to help his sick servant. But when Jesus accepted the call to go to the home of the centurion to heal the servant, the centurion demanded that He only “Speak the word” and that the servant will recover by that.

See Matthew 8:8 “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed”. In reply to the request of “speak the word” Jesus said unto the centurion, “Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee”. The Bible tells that the servant was healed in the self-same hour.

You see, You cannot undermine the power of the word. It has what it takes to turn negative situations around and bring into existence whatever you proclaim. The word of God on the lips of the believer is a change agent. It solves every issue of man.

As simple as you will see it, Gods word can chart the course of your life. You can speak the word of God to every situation you encounter in life. You can speak the word into your spiritual life, you can speak the word into your education, you can speak the word into your finances, you can speak the word into your marriage. Nothing is beyond reach whenever you release the word of God.

Instead of crying, complaining or murmuring about the issues of life, Speak the word. Believe that the word can do what it says. Believe the healing the word talks about, believe the prosperity, believe the deliverance and you will always live in triumph.

Read: Psalm 107:20, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Prayer: Father, I pray that as I make decrees and declarations based on your word, uncommon manifestations of God’s power will take place. In Jesus name, Amen!

Don’t forget to prepare for the Coming of the Lord.

Hebrews 10:37
“For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry”

One of the most important things to prepare for in life is the coming of the Lord. The coming of Jesus is one of the final and important events that the world will encounter. In fact, as sure as the night follows the day, that is how certain the coming of Jesus is. Christ coming is sure and very certain, and you ought to prepare for it. The Bible says “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God…”.

In another place it says, “For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry” (Hebrews 10:37). Don’t be deceived at all on the coming of Christ. In fact, it is so close than you can ever think of.

You must always live with eternity in mind. That is the only way you can be sure of your preparation. The Bible talks about the days of Noah that before the flood, “People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage then the flood came and destroyed them all”. The people in Noah’s days forgot about the crucial moment they were living in and had no sense of urgency.

You see, many will not make it on the day of rapture for lack of preparation, but STAY ALERT. Every now and then, the clock is moving towards its final end for eternity to set in for those who are prepared. As you read this message, how prepared are you for the coming of the Lord. Are you living out your purpose, or you following after the fleeting fantasies of this world that will soon come to a sad end.

Be careful how you live your life. Don’t prepare for work alone, don’t prepare for your marriage alone, don’t prepare for financial prosperity alone, and don’t prepare for your education alone.

In this last days, take your faith in the Lord serious and never cast away your faith which has a great recompense. Never let the system or the worldly pleasures rob you of the glories and the beauty of God’s eternal kingdom.

Remember that, anyone who refuses to prepare for the coming of Jesus or eternity will end up in misery.

Read :1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the [blast of the] trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain [on the earth] will simultaneously be caught up (raptured) together with them [the resurrected ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord! (AMP)

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will live a life always in preparation for your coming. In Jesus name, Amen!

Reign in life

Romans 5:17
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

The place of the Child of God in this world is not a mean place. Ephesians 2:6 says “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. As a Christian, you have a place of honour in life. It came by the finished work of Christ on the cross. This is why you can’t go through life, with your heads down. But until you engage the word to reign, your dignity from the accomplished work of Jesus will be toyed with.

God has strategically positioned you in life to reign. The Bible says we live in Him, move in Him and are also made complete in him. The Bible also says we are to reign in life. Meaning you got to be in charge. You must reign here on earth and not in heaven. Revelation 5:10 says “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”.

You are not to be a failure and you must never be a victim of circumstances. No! God has put you in charge. He wants you to exercise your faith and reign.

You see, sin, sickness and failure must be a thing of the past. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5 that “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”. Again the Bible says sin must not have dominion over you. (Romans 6:14).

Meaning that, you have what it takes to make your life glorious and great. Reign like a king. Make decrees by the word of God and your life will move from glory to glory.

Read: Ecclesiastes 8:4 “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?”

Prayer: Father, I pray that I take possession of every atmosphere and place I find myself in. in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

The word brings strength and health

Psalm 119:107
“I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O Lord , according unto thy word”.

God’s word is the greatest antidote for anything that wants to afflict your body. Just as God wants you well spiritually, He is also concerned about your well-being physically making His care for your life total- spirit, soul and body.

The Bible teaches that, God’s word is a remedy to any bodily ailment. Thus, with the word, you can put in order any organ, tissue or cell that’s not responding properly to function effectively.

You see, God’s word is not just grammar or mere words put together. It is spirit, and it is life. John  6:63 also says “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” This makes God’s word a quickening agent. It brings life and revitalization to every dead situation.

The word is so powerful that, it causes sick people to receive strength and healing. Not only that miracles happen at the proclamation of the word. The truth is that God’s word turns things around for good. The word is a genuine source of power. The Bible says the word brings results whenever it is deployed.

See Isaiah 55:10-11: “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”

Be addicted to studying the word. Engage it’s principles in your daily walk and you will prosper in all that you do.

Anytime you see any challenge around you, go for the word, make it your daily meditation and confession. Sickness, and diseases will be destroyed by the power in the word.

Read: Psalm 107:20 “He sent His word and healed them, And rescued them from their destruction” (AMP)

Prayer: Lord, I pray that strength and good health is my portion as I receive your word. In Jesus name, Amen!

Don’t live with excuses!

Proverbs 26:13
“The lazy person [who is self-indulgent and relies on lame excuses] says, “There is a lion in the road! A lion is in the open square [and if I go outside to work I will be killed]!”

Many people who don’t amount to anything in life are most often “excuse lovers”. In fact, they have every reason under this earth why they didn’t or couldn’t do what they were supposed to. As a Christian it is prudent for you to know that excuses never promotes anyone to the top. In fact, if you always have reasons, or excuses for not doing what you “must” do,  you are simply on the road of failures.

Many folks have made giving excuses part of their life that they still see nothing wrong with it. But you can’t travel with excuses and still get to your destination. Excuses will only make you irresponsible and life has no place for such people. The truth is that if you are not responsible, then you are not ready for life. You must learn to be responsible for everything that goes on in your life.

Never give room for excuses. Don’t play any blame game. Irrespective of how things will turn up in your life, you must never make room for excuses. Whether you are faced with tough and challenging moments, still be responsible and avoid making room for excuses.

Be eager to find a way to deliver on your mandate than to find reasons why you can’t do or didn’t do what you must do. The Bible talks about people who give reasons (excuses) for not working because of unfavorable weather conditions. It says that, such folks will end as beggars. See Proverbs 20:4: “The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing”.

You see, instead of wasting your time looking for an excuse to give, rather find ways and means to deliver your mandate.

Read: Proverbs 26:15 “The lazy person buries his hand in the dish [losing opportunity after opportunity]; It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth”. (AMP)

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my life is devoid of excuses. I declare that instead of excuses I will harness every opportunity given me. In Jesus name, Amen!
