God cares for you

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.

God cares. In fact, he cares for you. His care for your life goes beyond what you can think of. In Matthew 10:30, the bible says “the very hairs of your head are all numbered”

Beloved, God is concerned about your needs and the affairs of your life. You don’t have to go through life as though you are on your own or God does not care about your life.

Every aspect of your life matters to God. What you will eat, wear and where you will sleep matters to God. Listen, your school matters to God. Your ministry matters to God. Your marriage matters to God, your career and even your household matters to God. The Bible says if God even provides for the grass of the field won’t He do something much better for us? 

Matthew 6:30 says “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” 

You see, you need to trust God with all your needs.Your needs, whether physical or spiritual means a lot to God. That is why the Bible says, he has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. But all you must do is to learn to cast all of such cares unto the Lord. 

Don’t worry or be anxious. Anxiety and worry will only rob you of your faith. It will take away your joy. Your problem is not bigger than God. Just cast it. Many claim they have waited on God for many years and are still burdened on every side. The truth of the matter is that God did not assure us in His word that when we murmur at Him, we shall receive whatever we want. The instruction is just simple and straight forward; cast your burdens.

How many are they, just cast them. Just as you can’t count your burdens the same way you wouldn’t be able to count your blessings. God is in charge so there is no cause of alarm.

Prayer: Lord, I lift up all of my worries, anxiety and burden to you. I pray that you who carries away burdens will lift every form of emotional, spiritual and physical burden of my life. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Anger rests in the bosom of fools

Ecclesiastes 7:9“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger rests in the bosom of fools”

Anyone easily given to anger will easily display folly. Being quickly and easily angered is not a sign of wisdom. That’s why the bible says “anger rests in the bosom of fools”.  If you are easily angered or quick tempered, you are not walking in love. 1 Corinthians 13:5 says “(Love) is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]…”(AMP)

Anger is one thing you must learn to get rid of as a child of God. You must never let anger have the best of you. Anytime you are engrossed with anger you do nothing meaningful or sensible because anger is an expression of emotions and emotions have no intellect.

Anger is a tool of destruction which displays“foolishness”. Our opening text in Ecclesiastes mentioned that it rests in the bosom of fools.

Anger according to some dictionaries is a strong feeling of being upset or being annoyed about something. It is also a feeling that makes you want to hurt another person or shout at someone. Anger is not something you must entertain in your life. Ephesians 4:31 says “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”. 

No matter what people will do to you, put your heart and spirit above being angry. You must learn not to be controlled by it. Gain control over your spirit. Proverbs 25:28 says, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls”. 

Never join the ship of folks who pride themselves in getting angry easily. Such people say things like “I am quick-tempered” etc. Some people also give in to angerand decide not to either talk or work with other people. Being easily angered is not something you must celebrate, but something you must get rid of. Anger will only “heat you up” to display unlawful deeds that lead to regrets.

Be swift in dealing with any anger issue you have before it takes you off your course and purpose in life. Can you imagine Jesus refusing to die on the cross, just because the Pharisees and Sadducees got him angry? Your purpose in life is bigger than the matter that is keeping you angry.

Read: Ecclesiastes 7:9 “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools”.

Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive me for entertaining anger in my life. I pray for grace to overcome any challenge or situation that will influence me to give in to anger. I declare that I am walking in pure love and patience. In Jesus name, Amen!

As he thinketh in his heart, so is he

Proverbs 23:7a “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

You are what you think. What you think or allow to dominate your mind is what will finally manifest in your life. This is why thinking right, or right thinking is important.

Thinking right is one of the great practices that will bless your life. When you make it a practice to think right or focus on the right things, you will get great results in life. You see, when your thinking is right, it will affect what you believe and ultimately influence what you will confess. 

The importance of “thinking right” can’t be overemphasized. In your quest to think right you must get rid of negative thoughts. Negative thoughts produce negative results, whereas positive thoughts produce positive results. Many great things we see in our world today just emerged in a form of a thought. As little as your thought could be, it has the power to grow to become a mountain. That is why you must guard your thinking or keep your thoughts on the right things. 

As a Christian, God’s word has been made available for you to help you think right. You must study the word and let it dominate your thinking. Anything that is not consistent with the word of God is not worth thinking about, no matter who is saying it.

Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things”. Don’t just allow anything to get into your heart. Think only on whatever is pure, lovely, admirable and excellent. No matter the situation, always make your thinking right.

Read: 2 Corinthians 10:5“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”.

Prayer: Father, I pray for the grace to think on right things. I cast down any wrong and negative thoughts in the name of Jesus.

Appointed to reign in life

Romans 5:17 “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

To reign simply means to rule in a capacity where you are in charge. As a believer, you have been destined to reign in life by the right standing you have with God.

The Bible says we live in Him, move in Him, and are also made complete in him (Acts 17:28). This positioning in the Lord is what gives us the power to rule and dominate in life. As a believer, you are not only in Christ, but you are also with Christ. Where Christ sits is where you also are, a position far above principalities and powers. 

The Bible says we are to reign in life. Meaning you got to be in charge. You must reign here on earth and not in heaven. Revelation 5:10 says “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”. 

You are not to be a failure in life neither must you be a victim of circumstances. No! God has put you in charge. He wants you to exercise your faith and reign. Don’t let evil and demonic activities dominate your life. Reign! Rule, declare God’s word daily to reshape and recourse your life, and never be at the mercy of the devil.

You see, sin, sickness and failure must be a thing of the past. Isaiah 53:5 says that “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”. Romans 6:14 says “…sin must not have dominion over you”. With these, you have what it takes to make your life glorious and great. Simply exercise your faith in the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I rule and reign in this life. I declare that by indwelling nature of God in me, nothing will block me from reigning in this life. In Jesus name. Amen!

Bless the Lord at all times

Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”.

Acts 16:25-26 also says “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the whole foundation of the prison was shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed”

You must always keep your praise up as a child of God. You must never relent in praising the Lord. The praise of God must continually be on your lips just as the psalmist says. Therefore, whether all is well or not, you must never quit praising the Lord. 

Praising God is an act of faith, and it must be done from your heart or spirit. When you sincerely want to praise God, you must overlook what may be happening to you and around you. It is your praise in these moments that unlocks doors in your life. Not only that, it tells of your true love for God. 

There are many believing folks who only praise or give glory to the Lord when all is well with them. Such folks want to see money in their bank accounts, they want to see their healing manifest, they want to see the physical manifestation of all that they desire before they praise God. This is more like walking with God in the flesh. You don’t need all those physical manifestations before making praise your lifestyle. 

Paul and Silas knew this truth. No wonder during the heat of the moment while in prison they still praised the Lord (Acts 16:25). The prison situation did not make them hold back their praise. That act of faith brought them miracle. Forget about whatever you might be facing now. Keep praising until God shows up.

Prayer: Father, I declare that no matter the situation I find myself in I will always learn to give you praise. I will praise you through the thick and the thin. I will praise God in the morning, afternoon, at night and at midnight. In Jesus name. Amen!

THE WORD OF GOD IS FOR YOUR BENEFIT

2 Timothy 3:16-17“All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works”

The written word is solely for our benefit. The benefit you will get out of the word of God outweighs any cost or time spent on it. Anytime spent studying the word is worth the reward. 

The word of God helps us in our walk with God and teaches us the way to be blessed. Micah 6:8 says “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God”

God’s word is for our learning. You must be full of the word if you want to excel in this life. Romans 15:4 says “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”. Learning God’s word will inspire hope in you. From the word, you will know that your future as a Child of God is bright. This will let you move on even when you are faced with challenges. 

The word of God is the well of knowledge to guide our lives. In fact, it is the manual for living well in this world. 

The believer who does not make God’s word supreme in his or her life will be hindered by many things in this world. One thing you have to understand is that the devil will always take advantage of what you don’t know. Learn God’s word daily. Learn it and be ever ready to apply it.

Never substitute the opinions of men for the word of God. Know that God’s word will never fail and will surely bring you into a glorious destination, but the opinions of men will not. 

Read: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that as I receive your word I will enjoy all the benefits that accompanies it. In Jesus name. Amen!

Be strong in the Lord

Ephesians 6:10-18“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”

The Christian walk demands that you exercise some toughness and power in dealing with the issues of life. Until that, you can’t fully enjoy your rights and privileges as a Child of God. 

Matthew 11:12 says “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven sufferethviolence, and the violent “take it by force”. So for you to take delivery of your possessions as a Child of God,you must remain strong in faith. 

You can’t live like a weakling and make it in this evil doomed world. You must marshal your spiritual strength to pave way through the storms of life. No matter the challenge you encounter, radically engage your faith to lay hold on your bright and glorious future. 

Always stay strong in the Lord, and having done all to stand, stand. Never give up at all. Like the days of old, when the people of God had to get into their promised land, through the force of faith. They refused to succumb to the giants. They spoke and took bold steps. See their words, “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it”(Numbers 13:30). 

Read: Ephesians 6:10-18 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”.

 

Prayer: Father, I pray that I will not be weak in my faith. I pray that my faith in you will be stronger and stronger as the days goes by in the Jesus mighty name. Amen!

PREPARE FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17”For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall ever be with the Lord”

Success in every endeavour is dependent on the quality of preparation. Preparation cuts across every facet of our lives. We prepare for marriage, career, ministry and on the list goes. Nonetheless, one of the most important things to prepare for in life is the coming of the Lord.

Christ’s coming is sure and very certain. But it takes preparation to gain from His return. The Bible says”For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God…”. In another place, it says, “For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry”(Hebrews 10:37). Thus, Christ’s coming is expected, and one must prepare for it.

Many who will not make it at rapture will be solely due to lack of preparation. Every now and then, the clock is moving towards the end. Your state of unpreparedness will render you foolish (Mathew 25: 1-13). Be wise and know that these are not ordinary times. Prepare! 

In these last days be serious and never cast away your faith which has a great recompense. Never let the system or the worldly pleasures rob you of the glories and the beauty of God’s eternal kingdom. If there is anything to be forgotten in life, note that it should not be in preparing for the coming of the Lord.

Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”.

Prayer: Heavenly father, I pray that I will be in expectancy of your coming and never lose sight of your coming. I pray that at your appearance I will be found worthy to join the saints to heaven. In Jesus name. Amen!

For ye have need of patience

Hebrews 10:36“For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye may receive the promise”

You need to exercise patience to make it in life. Life is not always a rush game. There is a season for speed and there is also another season for patience. 

This virtue called “patience” makes you tolerant and never anxious or troubled in the face of adversities. The Bible in some places calls this great virtue “longsuffering”. In other words, you can bear with things for long. 

Galatians 5:22 reveals that patience is a fruit of the recreated human spirit. Meaning that as a Child of God, you have what it takes to be patient. 

Not being patient in life can make you miss out on God’s best for your life. Don’t forget that, as Christians sometimes, your faith will be tested through the changing scenes of life. Nonetheless, patience is the virtue that can make you pass God’s test. There is nothing wrong when in the exercise of your faith you must wait for weeks, months or even years. 

The truth is that you will get God’s best when you believe. God never fails! Patience teaches how to wait on the Lord without any wavering in your faith. Today, there are folks who have missed it and some are still missing it because they don’t exercise patience. 

You see, God wants you to prosper but you must have the patience for that. God wants you to be healed and be in health, but you must have the patience for that. God wants you to have a great marriage, but you must have the patience for that. God wants you to have a great job, but you must have the patience for that. 

If you throw away patience you will miss the best God has for you. You need great patience to come into your “promised land” just like the Israelites. Your patience in life is a proof that you still trust in the Lord. Be patient so that you don’t miss God’s best for your life.

Read: Hebrews 10:36 “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise”.

Prayer: Father, I pray and cancel every spirit of impatience in my life. I speak that I will be patient and diligent in following the timings and moments of the lord. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!

No more excuse

Proverbs 20:4
“The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore, shall he beg in the harvest, and have nothing”

Excuses never promote anyone to the top. If you always have reasons (excuses) for not doing what you “must” do, you are on the road to failing.

Looking at the danger associated with “living with excuses” you must dare to be different. You can’t travel with excuses and still get to your destination.

Excuses will only make you irresponsible, and life has no place for such people. Know that if you are not responsible, then you are not ready for life. One practice that will distinguish you in life is when you learn to be responsible for everything that goes on in your life.

Never give room for excuses. Don’t play any blame game. Irrespective of how things will turn up in your life, you must never make room for excuses. Whether you are faced with tough or challenging moments, still be responsible and avoid making room for excuses. Be eager to find a way to do what you have to do than to find reasons why you can’t do what is your assignment.

People who give reasons (excuses) for not working because of unfavourable conditions will end up as beggars. Never channel your energy and time looking for an excuse to give, rather find ways and means to deliver your mandate.

Read: Proverbs 20:4 “The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore, shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing”.

Prayer: Father, I declare that the spirit that causes people to always give excuses will not influence my life. I pray for a special grace to work on my purpose than to give an excuse in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
