Made whole in Christ

Colossians 2:10 “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”

The Greek word from which the word “complete” was translated also means, to make full, to fill, to fill up, to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally. Attaining a state of fullness or becoming complete in life is only made possible by virtue of our position in Christ.

It is in Christ that the believer is made full, furnished or amply supplied for. Acts 17:28 puts it this way “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring”.

The believer’s completeness and wholeness is something that is provided for in Christ. This completeness cuts across our spirit, soul and body. Our bruised and sin dominated spirit that was taken over by the nature of the devil was made anew through salvation.

You must know that it is in Christ that you can be made to abound unto all goodness in the spirit, in your mind and in your body. So your connection to the Lord just like a branch and a tree is what gives you “soundness in this life”.

Christ is the place you can fully function and draw your nourishment from. Remember that, being in Christ does not only make you a new creature but also you become complete. You become what God wants you to become. You are not in a place of lack, unbelief and fear.

God has provided for your completeness in Christ. Yours is to depend and connect to this “divine atmosphere” for this fullness. This is the only place where sin, sickness, diseases, lack and failure can’t operate.

Read: Col 2:10-11 “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ”.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for the privilege to be complete in you. I pray that my focus will always be on this revelation. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Invest into your life now!

John 12:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit”

Life will always give to you what you gave to it but in an added or multiplied form. This is why the subject of investment is key. It then goes without saying that life is not all about having fun and life is also not a game. Life is business! In fact, life is a serious engagement. Until you understand life from this perspective you are bound to fail because you will leave out key principles that will ensure your success.

You must invest in your life. One fact of life that can’t be denied is that your level of investment in life will determine your level of ultimate attainment. This truth is universal. Wherever you invest, is where you reap.

For instance, people who devote their time to study in the area of their academics or career end up doing well in the natural world and people who spend time praying, fasting and studying the word of God, also become stalwarts in spiritual things.

You see, investment is sacrificial and involves great discipline. Take away discipline and sacrifice, no one can invest in any venture no matter how profitable it is.

In Jesus said in John 12:24, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” This verse gives us the principle of investment. It teaches that, to have something you must be willing to sow something. In other words, if you don’t give out something, you shall certainly receive nothing. You must invest. That is your corn of grain falling into the ground.

You must invest in your spiritual life and the things that concern you naturally before you can have a place of prominence in this world and the world to come. Don’t take life for a joke. Take actions that will lift you from one level to another.

Read: John 12:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit”.

Prayer: Father, I pray that for the grace to sacrifice and be disciplined to invest into every aspect of my life. I pray and come against anything that will hinder me from making significant investment into my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Diligence, your key to success

Proverbs 12:24 “The hand of the diligent will rule but the negligent and lazy will be put to forced labour.”

No one succeeds without diligence. It is the key that puts you ahead in all your endeavors. Not only that, it is the way by which you can access the will of God on prosperity concerning your life.  You see, God has ordained that we prosper by working or by being diligent. That is why the Bible teaches that the diligent soul will be made fat and prosperous.

Proverbs 13:4 says “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” The New Living Translation of the Bible renders it more clearly, “Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper”.

Thus, it is not only a fact that prosperity comes by diligence, but it is also the truth since God’s word says so. Without diligence or hard work, many things won’t go well in your life. Most things will work well if only people will be diligent in their endeavours.

As a Christian, you must know that God has blessed you with the ability to work things out. Thus, anytime you deploy your strength to work hard at things it receives the blessings of the Lord (Deuteronomy 28:11). Your input receives a supernatural touch to produce tremendous results.

In Genesis 1 and 2, the Bible reveals that God is a worker. He worked six days putting things- the world and all that we see today, in great order. It was after working before he rested. Genesis 2:2 says “And on the seventh God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh from all his work which he had made”

Things become “very good” when you work. Remember that, before then, the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep (Genesis 1:1). Therefore, working on things to make them better is one attribute that the Bible revealed about God in creation. This s one more reason why the hardworking person will be made fat, increase, prosper and see something very good in life because that’s the divine order from creation. Therefore, anytime you practice laziness, you deny yourself of great blessings in life.

Refuse to be lazy in life. Refuse to do little when it is possible to work harder to make things better. Remember that laziness can’t give you a beautiful destination. Work hard in all the endeavours of your life and you will see “very good” things in your life.

Read: Prov 12:24 “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute”.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you as your child this very day and I decree and declare that the spirit of laziness will not have its influence over my life. I pray that by hard work I will become prosperous in this life in Jesus Mighty name. Amen!

DON’T LET YOUR LOVE GROW COLD

Matthew 24:12-13 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved”.

The increase of wickedness or iniquity has one end. It always causes people’s love to grow cold. This can be one’s love for God and the love for one another.

Sin never promotes love. Evil or sin conflicts with the principles and practice of love.

Nonetheless, you must not allow the wickedness or sin that is prevalent in this end times deaden your love for God. Iniquity must not log you out of love. Rather, day in and day out you must grow strong in your love.

Your love for God must be fervent and glowing. Nothing must turn your heart away from the Lord. In the face of persecution, criticism and adverse situations you must still keep your love for God intact. You must still value and make good time for God and all that pertains to Him. You see, you can’t claim to love God and take Him out from your schedules.

The Bible teaches that the world is not going to get better. Evil and sin will abound until Christ comes. See John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

This sin doomed world has robbed people of their love for God and fellow humans. But let your love prevail. Stand well in this testing moment. Never allow the pressures of this life to dull your love for God and one another.

As your days increase so must your love.

Keep yourself in the love of God.

Read: Jude 1:21 “keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

Prayer: Heavenly father, I declare that you fuel in me LOVE one more time. May my LOVE FIRE never grow dim and cold. I speak that my LOVE FIRE will increase as the days pass by. In Jesus name. Amen!

A GOOD CHARACTER

Proverbs 22:1 “A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold”

Character is a major factor in your success journey.

No one can succeed without a great character because it contributes greatly to your success story. A positive character has always been the foundation for success.

This consists of the virtues that the “new life” brings, namely, kindness, truthfulness, patience, honesty, endurance, etc.

You can’t be successful in life when you neglect these virtues. The truth is that you can master many things in life, but the absence of a virtuous character will bring you no lasting results.

A bad or weak character is a life deficient of godly virtues, godly principles, and discipline.

Every day of your life gives you the opportunity to make your character better. Be determined to build a solid character for your life since the consequence of a bad character is highly unbearable.

For instance, a bad character can destroy a marriage, it can destroy a relationship, it can bring chaos to a family and it bring confusion to a ministry. One author once wrote “A bad character is like a flat tire. If you don’t change it, you’ll never go anywhere.”

Always remember that you are as powerful as your character. It has the power to make you and to also unmake you. You see, instead of concentrating on things which are of lesser value in life, spend time on building a SOLID AND AN UNQUESTIONABLE character.

Don’t forget to keep assessing yourself daily to ensure that you put your character in a way that can promote your success in all things- ministry, career, marriage, education, etc.

Read: Philippians 2:15 “so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness],” (AMP)

Prayer: Father, I pray that you stir in me the grace to walk in the godly characters deposited in me. May my character bring glory to your name. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!

FEAR GOD!

Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, and keep His commandment: for this is the whole duty of man”

To fear God is to have great respect and reverence for God. It involves treating everything that is of God “sacred”.

When you live with the fear of God in your heart, you hold in high esteem everything that belongs to God.

You see, walking in the fear of God must be your hall mark as a Christian. Nothing must make you compromise on that.

Anyone who claims to be a Christian and does not have a deep respect or reverence for the things of God is going nowhere.

Walking in the fear of God was one of the characteristics of the early Church. In fact, the fear they had for God made them wrought wonders.

See Acts 9:31: “Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.”

You see, if we can walk in the fear of God in this our generation, God’s power will certainly manifest in our Churches.

Many Christians have left the “realm of fearing God”. Some treat the things of God with great disrespect.

Today, people criticize pastors, make bad comments about them and even run into hasty generalization to condemn men of God. Such people simply refuse to accept that it is God that has appointed these servants. (Ephesians 4:11).

People no longer care about how they handle the things of God. They take spiritual meetings or Church services for granted but will show up for social events.

Others too abuse the body that God has given them with immorality and lascivious activities forgetting that their body is God’s house.

1 Corinthians 6:19 says “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

Not only that, we have people who spend a lot of money on worldly and worthless things like fashion, pleasure and fun fairs. But these same people will give a dime as an offering and justify their “lack of respect for God or lack of fear of God” with a comment that “the pastor wants their money”.

Fearing God is not an alternative to the Christian. It is a must. Omit it and you will be omitted divinely.

Your whole duty as a believer is to fear God. There are no options to this therefore be guided by wisdom.

Read: Hebrews 12:28 “Therefore, we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear”

Prayer: Lord, I declare that my reverence for you and for your things will never be compromised with the passage of time. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Praise God no matter what!

Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”.

You must never relent in praising the Lord. The praise of God must continually be on your lips.

Whether all is well or not, you must never quit praising the Lord.

You see, praising God is an act of faith. It must be done from your heart or spirit. In other words, you must overlook what might be happening around you. The truth is, that no matter what happens God is still God.

There are many believing folks who only praise or give glory to the Lord when all is well with them. Such folks want to see money in their bank accounts, they want to see their healing manifest, they want to see physical manifestation of all that they desire before they praise God.

But that is like walking with God in the flesh. You don’t need all those physical manifestations before making “praise” your lifestyle. Paul and Silas knew this truth. In the heat of the day, whiles in prison they lifted their voices in praise.

See: Acts 16:25 “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them”. You see, the prison situation did not make them hold back their praise. Their act of faith brought a miracle.

Forget about whatever you might be facing today in life and lift your voice to praise the Lord.

Read: Habakkuk 3:17-19 “Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills”.

Prayer: Father, I pray and thank you for the spirit of praise released upon my life through today’s devotion. I declare that I will praise you at all times no matter the circumstance. In Jesus name, Amen!

Marriage is between a man and a woman

Genesis 2:18-24 “And the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. THEN THE RIB WHICH THE LORD GOD HAD TAKEN FROM MAN HE MADE INTO A WOMAN, and He brought her to the man.  And Adam said: This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife(woman), and they shall become one flesh”.

The marriage ordinance was institution by God to be between a man and a woman. This order cannot be reversed due to the advancement of life in the areas of science and technology. God is bigger and wiser than all those writers of different biological journals. No matter what people say concerning the gender options for marriage, this doesn’t defeat the main purpose for which God designed it.

MARRIAGE IS A UNION BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN, NOT BETWEEN PEOPLE OF THE SAME SEX OR WITH OBJECTS OR ANIMALS.

You see, stick to what the Lord has in His word concerning how marriage should be like, follow it and be blessed with a blissful marital union.

Read: Matt 19:4-6 “And he answered and said unto them, have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder”.

Prayer: Father, I pray that I will walk in this truth about marriage all the days of my life in Jesus mighty name. I declare that happenstance will not cause me to divert from this truth about marriage. Amen!

Your foundation matters!

Proverbs 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Foundation is the underground structure that holds the top structure. It determines many things in your life.

Two main foundations exist: Good foundation and a Bad foundation.

 The foundation of Lots Children:

Afterwards Lot left Zoar, fearful of the people there, and went to live in a cave in the mountains with his two daughters according to Genesis 19:31-38 “One day the older girl said to her sister, there isn’t a man anywhere in this entire area that our father would let us marry. And our father will soon be too old for having children. Come, let’s fill him with wine and then we will sleep with him, so that our clan will not come to an end. So they got him drunk that night, and the older girl went in and had sexual intercourse with her father; but he was unaware of her lying down or getting up again. The next morning, she said to her younger sister, slept with my father last night. Let’s fill him with wine again tonight, and you go in and lie with him, so that our family line will continue.” So they got him drunk again that night, and the younger girl went in and lay with him, and, as before, he didn’t know that anyone was there.  And so it was that both girls became pregnant from their father. The older girl’s baby was named Moab; he became the ancestor of the nation of the Moabites. The name of the younger girl’s baby was Benammi; he became the ancestor of the nation of the Ammonites”.

This story does not shock me so much because where did they come from? Sodom and Gomorrah. People whose foundation is from this place can do wild things in life. Your foundation really matters. What are you building on? Are you building on a wrong foundation or a right one?

Build on a good foundation today and have a very peaceful life tomorrow.

Every aspect of your life needs a good foundation. Build properly on good foundations to enable you attain a stable life tomorrow.

Read: Proverbs 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will destroy all wrong foundations in my life. I speak that by the wisdom of God I’m building good solid foundations in all aspects of my life is Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Serve God with your life

Luke 9:24 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it”.

Serving God must be something you do with your life. That’s to say your living and existence.

We are not to serve God only with our substance it must also involve our very life.

You see, most people have missed out on that aspect of service. They will hardly go the extra mile with the Lord if it will cost them.

A story was told of a certain man who advised his son who was a Christian against being too active for Jesus Christ. He was concerned that the son could lose his life for preaching the gospel. But as their conversation continued, the son replied, “Dad, I am only doing what Jesus said I should do; I am serving him with my life”.

The Father was offended and angrily replied, “You are doing what Jesus said you should do? That’s why He died young; at thirty-three”. They killed him.

You see, the fear of this Father is very real with most people. Most people have been dominated by the fear of death. With such folks it is not their wish to live long or wanting their love ones to live long but they have been captured by fear.

You see, the fear of death will not let you live to the best of your potentials. Not only that, you can’t also fulfil your calling. Such people will say things or make promises on doing something for the Lord, but will hardly commit themselves to it, if they sense a danger or something that will be perilous for their comfort.

You see, you can get the best God has for you if you live your life unreservedly for Christ. We are in the times when you must stand out for Jesus and it must be at all cost. Never let the fear of the unknown, hinder you from going all out for Jesus. You sacrifice can’t be compared to his.

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]”.

Prayer: Thank you Father Lord for the opportunity to serve you. Help me to go all out for you. I pray against any spirit of fear that holds people in bondage. Amen!
