Luke 9:24″For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: *but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it”.

Serving God must be something you do with your life. That’s to say your living and existence.

We are not to serve God only with our substance it must also involve our very life.

You see, most people have missed out on that aspect of service. They will hardly go the extra mile with the Lord if it will cost them.

A story was told of a certain man who advised his son who was a Christian against being too active for Jesus Christ. He was concerned that the son could lose his life for preaching the gospel. But as their conversation continued, the son replied, “Dad, I am only doing what Jesus said I should do; I am serving him with my life”.

The Father was offended and angrily replied, “You are doing what Jesus said you should do? That’s why He died young; at thirty-three”. They killed him.

You see, the fear of this Father is very real with most people. Most people have been dominated by the fear of death. With such folks it is not their wish to live long or wanting their love ones to live long but they have been captured by fear.

You see, the fear of death will not let you live to the best of your potentials. Not only that, you can’t also fulfil your calling. Such people will say things or make promises on doing something for the Lord, but will hardly commit themselves to it, if they sense a danger or something that will be perilous for their comfort.

You see, you can get the best God has for you if you live your life unreservedly for Christ. We are in the times when you must stand out for Jesus and it must be at all cost. Never let the fear of the unknown, hinder you from going all out for Jesus. You sacrifice can’t be compared to his.

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]”.

Prayer: Thank you Father Lord for the opportunity to serve you. Help me to go all out for you. I pray against any spirit of fear that holds people in bondage. Amen!

 

Proverbs 13:11 “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase”.

You must work and be rewarded with money. You must not serve money; money must serve you. You must handle money; money must not handle you.

Five reasons why you must work for money

Jeremiah 17:11 “As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool”.

The money you work for won’t leave you in the mist of your days, in order words the money you work for stays with you. Secondly, when you work for money you don’t become a fool at the end of the day. Working for money actually tells us your wisdom level.

Proverbs 16:8 “Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest”. Thirdly, working for money makes you have money you can call your own.

Proverbs 10:2-3” Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked”. Fourthly, working for money makes you have profits in life.

Proverbs 20:17 “Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel”. Finally, working for me makes you avoid troubles of lack, want and shame of not having needs met in your life.

Prayer: Father, I pray that may I never use dubious ways to acquire money. I declare that no matter the circumstances I find myself in I will still the follow the bible to making money in Jesus name. Amen!

3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.

There are many ways by which one can receive healing as we have seen from our previous studies.

One way again by which one can receive healing is by anointing with oil. This has a significant role it plays in the healing of people. In Mark 6:13 the bible says “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them”.

You see, the anointing oil is a conduit of the anointing. Hence, it carries the power of God to produce healing in the lives of people. Don’t be deceived to think that the use of the anointing oil is old fashion or outdated. It is ever powerful if you believe.

The Spirit of God can also bring specific instructions and directions that when followed will bring health to the sick. John 9:6-7 “When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing”. God still heals using the leadings of the Spirit.

3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.

God wants all his children to live in health. He has also made provision for the healing of anyone who gets attacked by sickness. In our previous study, we saw that a person can appropriate healing or receive healing by the name of Jesus and through the laying on of hands.

In this study, we will consider how one can receive healing by the prayer of faith and through the spoken word. These truths when engaged will never keep you in the bonds of sickness.

James 5:14-15 reveals how one can receive healing by the prayer of faith. James 5:14-15 says “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him”. The prayer of faith makes demand for ones healing on the truth that Jesus has borne our sickness and diseases (Mathew 8:17). With the prayer of faith, you declare your healing according to God’s word which says “we were healed by his stripes” and act on it. After a prayer of faith, you don’t go with symptoms or how you feel. You stand on God’s word and your healing will manifest. Sometimes the healing will manifest gradually in the flesh. But that notwithstanding, your healing is already an accomplished fact. That’s why you must not look at the symptoms you see or experience.

Mark 11:23 says “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. Beloved, believe in the prayer of faith to heal you from all forms of sickness. You can pray it yourself or request it from the elders of the church. But the underlying truth is that, you must believe.

Another way also to be healed is by the release of the spoken Word. Luke 7:6-7 says “Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. Psalm 107:20 also says “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. You see, God’s word heals. No matter the sickness that you have been afflicted with, the word can heal you. The Bible says, the word is health to our flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22).

Are you under any attack in your health? Is your health failing? Or is anyone sick in your home? Engage the prayer of faith, and keep speaking God’s word of healing, and you will see that your health shall spring forth speedily. Don’t allow sickness to ravage you or your loved ones. God has made a way out already. Enjoy divine health.

I pray that, the Lord heals you now of any sickness or infirmity in your body. Be healed now in Jesus name.

3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.

You see, there are many ways or methods by which the child of God can receive healing. Demanding healing in the name of Jesus is one way by which you can command or receive your healing as a child of God.

In the book of Acts 3:1-7 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength”.

The above scripture reveals that healing can be demanded in the name of Jesus. Don’t sit down for sickness to overwhelm you, demand your healing NOW!

Laying on of hands is another medium by which you can receive healing from God. The account in Mark 16:18 says “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”. There are times when you need anointed hands to be laid on you before your healing can manifest. Nonetheless, as a believer, you can lay hands on anyone who is sick based on this word. You can also place your hands on anywhere you are hurting and demand your healing.

Don’t overlook these principles or methods of healing- using the name of Jesus, and the laying on of hands. It still works. Walk in these truths and save yourself from the clutches of sickness.

Prayer: Father, you have made healing available by your finished work on the cross. I therefore declare divine health into every fibre of my being in Jesus mighty name. Amen!

 

1 Peter 2:24 says, “Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed”.

God does not want us sick. Sickness is not part of the packages that God gave to the body of Christ. Sickness is an illegal commodity residing in your body. Therefore, you have all that it takes to dismantle the power of sickness over your life or over the lives of other power.

Sickness will rob you of joy. There is no sick person that has genuine happiness or joy. Sickness is one thing that can make you disinterested in this world. Its robs you of laughter, energy and finally drain you financially leaving you with loses and debts.

Sickness does not glorify God. The bible says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, therefore sickness residing in the body does not glorify the Lord.

Sickness can’t make you active in doing the work of ministry. sickness takes a toll on your body and thereby leaving you in an incapacitated state to do the work of ministry.

God wants you to walk hale and hearty in the new life. Therefore, choose to walk in divine health, devoid of all sort sicknesses and diseases.

You can stand on God’s word in faith and undo every sickness that wants to attack you. As you stand on God’s word in faith every form of sickness will give way.

 Read: Jeremiah 8:22 “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people restored?”.

 Prayer: Father, you have made healing available for me by your death, resurrection and ascension. I declare divine health to every fibre of my being in Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Job 5:8-9 “However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and lay my cause before Him—the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number”

Matthew 15:30 says “And large crowds came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them”.

Another wonders Jesus did was to heal all those that were sick that came to him. He never referred any case when the infirmed came to him by faith. He was up to the task.

Matthew 8:16 “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick”.

You see, sicknesses and diseases have no power to stand against the wonder working power of God. Anytime you see sickness and diseases trying to attack you or anyone around you, put the name of Jesus into action and see God manifest His healing power over the situation. God still works wonders in the areas of healing all manner of sicknesses and diseases. BELIEVE IN THE GOD WHO DOES WONDERS!

Read: Matt 15:30 “And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them”.

Prayer: Father, I believe in your wonder working personalities. Thank you for always displaying your miraculous, wonder working power in every aspect of my life. Sicknesses and diseases no longer has dominion over me nor anyone or anything connected to me. In Jesus name. Amen!

 

Job 5:8-9 “However, if I were you, I would appeal to God and lay my cause before Him—the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number”

God is a God of wonders. He does great and unfathomable things. Thus, walking with God must cause your faith to rise above any challenge you encounter.

God’s power and greatness was revealed in the person of Jesus. During his earthly ministry what He did shook the foundations of the world. He walked and lived the maxim “there is nothing impossible”. No wonder in Luke 1:37 He said “For with God nothing shall be impossible”

Amongst the outstanding things that Jesus did on earth was to raise the dead. He raised the widow’s son, he raised Jairus daughter and the Lazarus. This notable miracle spread the fame of Jesus across the towns and villages of his days.

Luke 7:14,15 “And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.”

Luke 8:52-56 “And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.”

John 11:43-44 “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go.”

Finally, after His (Jesus) betrayal and crucifixion He proved his power and superiority over death.  The Book of Acts recorded it in the second chapter 2 and the 24 verse as “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.”

Prayer: Father, I believe in your wonder working power. Thank you for always displaying your miraculous, wonder working power in every aspect of my life. Death no longer has dominion over me nor anyone or anything connected to me. In Jesus name. Amen! 

2 Peter 1:5-9 (AMP) “For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence),  And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety), And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love.  For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [[full personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). For whoever lacks these qualities is blind, [spiritually] shortsighted, seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious [to the fact] that he was cleansed from his old sins”.

The Christian life is a life of progress. Coming to Christ or being saved is the starting point. One must therefore continue by engaging the power of the Holy spirit to mature or add to the growth process.

Develop virtue in the all your endeavors. Be modest about everything. Be modest in the way you treat people, be modest about your dressing, etc. The believer is expected to be excellent in all that he does.

Develop knowledge (intelligence), the fact that you are born again does not exempt you from putting your mind to intellectual use. Expand your horizon when it comes to education be it formal or non-formal education. Whatever you find yourself doing learn it well to the levels of exceptionality.

Develop self-control, the child of God is under no obligation to obey the biddings of the flesh or any emotional feelings. Learn to put your entire human faculty under subjection through the help of the Spirit. This is also the desire of God, that his people will put the flesh or their emotions into subjection.

Read: 2 Peter 1:5-6 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness”.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I pray that I will continually add to the faith which I have received from you. And as I add to my faith virtue, knowledge and self-control may my growth in you be exponential in Jesus mighty name. Amen!

 

 

Jeremiah 3:15 “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding”.

In as much as God has blessed us with Pastors as gifts. It will take grace and a certain insight to identify the man of God. In fact, what you can’t identify, you can’t accept and even be blessed by it.

You see, your man of God or pastor has a divine obligation and not a personal ambition to watch over your soul. He is to ensure that you are fed with the right word. That is why, Hebrews 13:17 says “Obey them that have the rule over you and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”.

You see, irrespective of this glorious ministry of pastors it can only benefit you when you recognize it and play your part. Most people have missed out on this divine path God has created to enhance their lives. The following are some few reasons why most people don’t get to recognize the ministry of pastors; pride, guilt, wrong voices, personal agenda.

Pride will cause you to see yourself to be overly important than your pastor. This will make you undermine his words or advice that he gives. When this happens you will be unable to recognize him and his authority over your life.

Guilt can blind you to a man of God.  Anytime people decide to walk in sin and worldliness they don’t want the company of men of God.                   

Wrong voices or advice from people can blind you to a man of God.

Your personal agenda can hinder you from a man of God.  Anytime you put your personal agenda and interest first, it can hinder you to submit completely to a man of God.  For example, over concentration on work, education, marriage, relationship can hinder you from recognizing the pastor that God has graciously given to you.

 Read: Ps 89:20 “I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him”.

 Prayer: Heavenly father, I pray that every spiritual scale on my eyes and mind will be taken off in the name of Jesus. I declare that I’m free from any demonic bondage, free to recognize and appreciate my pastor. Amen!
