YOU ARE DELIVERED

Colossians 1:13 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”

Deliverance from sin, sickness and the power of Satan is a present hour possession of the Christian. Our deliverance was accomplished, consummated, and concluded through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We are no longer folks needing deliverance. We’ve already got it. We got it when we got born again. Colossians 1:13 says: “God has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”.

This simply means that, the devil no longer has any legal right over the life of the believer.

Romans 6:14 also say: “sin shall no longer have dominion over you”. This also means that, any sin, from lying, fornication, bitterness, disobedience, pride, and all the rest cannot hold you captive. In fact, no wrong or sinful behavior must imprison you. SIN SHALL NO LONGER HAVE DOMINION over you.

Don’t be a Christian who is moving from one place to another claiming you need deliverance. Instead of moving to and fro, and from one preacher to the other, study the word, and meditate on it.

You see, when it is about deliverance Jesus has already done it. But if you claim that what Jesus did was not perfect thus your movement up and down for another, then no pastor or preacher can either do better.

Give the word of God a place in your heart. That is the food for your spirit. That is what will get you on course to stand for what belongs to you in CHRIST.

Remember that as a Christian you are saved, delivered, redeemed, and blessed.

ABOUND IN LOVE ONE TOWARD ANOTHER.

1 Thessalonians 3:12. “And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you”

Love must be your golden rule when dealing with people. Anything outside love will not produce any better results. When you deal with people from the bowels of love or from your love account it brings a mutual benefit.

To abound in love is to continue in love irrespective of what people do to you.You don’t allow the wickedness and ungratefulness that is prevalent in this our world deaden your love for a brother or sister. People’s action towards you must not log you out of love. Rather, day in and day out your love must grow strong and multiply towards people.

1 Peter 3:9 continues the love discourse by saying “Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing”. You see when you abound in love toward one another, you don’t render evil for evil, or insult with insult. Love makes you a well of blessing to others.

Love does not react to give evil. Meaning that, when you walk in love towards people and you are not treated in a good way you must never give up to operate in the spirit of love.

John 13:34 says “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another”. But this is where many people miss it. Jesus is saying that, love that your brother, sister, friend and fellow human being just as He has loved you and not how you want to love them.

Do you remember that you were no better till you became born again? Not only that, you had many shortcomings or was even involved in stuffs that you would not want to be reminded of the details. But amidst all these God loved you and still does. See Romans 5:8. In fact, he was patient with you till you made it. You can call it divine allowance or chance.

Today, God is calling on you to do the same. Let the love of God in your heart and the love that God demonstrated towards you be your reference point when dealing with people and not what people have done to you.

Love will make you help people without “hidden motives”, love will let you stand for the interest of others, love will make you give your best to others, and love will make you tell someone about Jesus.

No matter what people do to you, live with them from the heart of love.

Remember, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO LOVE.

BE WILLING AND OBEDIENT

Isaiah 1:19 “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”

The blessings of God is always bestowed upon the willing and obedient believers.

Following God demands total obedience that is coming from a willing heart. You see, when you are doing something willingly, you are quick to act without being forced. In other words, you act by choice and not by coercion.

Our obedience to God and to those who have rule over us spirituality must be governed by this principle. No matter what God tells you to do, or no matter which instruction you receive from those that have rule over you if you swing into action without a willing heart it will profit you nothing.

Paul the Apostle said, if he preaches willingly as God instructed him, then he will get the reward. 1 Corinthians 9:17 says “For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward…”. It is both your willingness and obedience that brings you a blessing.

In as much as God wants us to be willing, He also wants us to obey. Obedience demands that we perform according to the instructions we have received.

Many wonderful people in the Bible lost their positions, wealth and honour due to disobedience. Saul the King lost his place as a King according to 1 Samuel 15:26-28, the man of God in Judah with the prophetic mandate lost his life when he disobeyed the Lord according to 1Kings 13:21-24.  In fact, Moses could not also make it to the promised land due to disobedience.

No matter what you have today, money, good health, properties, and the like, your act of disobedience can bring you a great loss. Disobedience can bring all your efforts to nothing.

God wants you to be obedient in all things. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:17 that – “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”

Don’t take God’s word for granted, obey it. Don’t take your pastor instructions for granted, obey. Not only that, obey your parents, the Bible says, this is right.

Remember that, it is only when you are willing and obedient that you will eat the good of the land

READ: 1 Kings 2:3,Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.”

PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE TASK AHEAD

1 Samuel 8:1-5“When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice. So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”

Preparation is a major factor to consider anytime you want to succeed in life. Talking about success without preparation won’t bring any results. The Bible reveals this great truth about the prophet Samuel and his two sons, Joel and Abijah. Samuel, being a prophet and the leader of Israel grew old and therefore needed to hand over his mandate.

Abijah and Joel were considered and appointed, but their lack of preparation made them incompetent, weak and corrupt in the process. Although, they might be the right folks, they were rejected by the people they ought to lead because they did not have what it takes – in terms of character and integrity to lead. They missed their opportunity to be the successors of their father.

Today, the world is still suffering from the Joel and Abijah syndrome. In fact, the possible candidates for some noble positions are not in shape for the work. They have not prepared their character, they have not learnt the excellent ways of the person they ought to replace, and some too lack the wisdom to lead.

You see, no matter how you will see it one day you will have to take a responsibility from someone. You will become a father, a mother, a pastor, a teacher, in fact, the lot will fall on you to lead whiles the rest of the majority must follow.

What can they be assured of? will your character fail them, will the love of money mess your judgement, or will they opt for another leader because you lack what it takes to be a blessing?

Beloved, you may be the next person to take a crucial mandate in your family, church, country or work place. Prepare enough, so that you don’t fail and disappoint God and all others that invested in you

YOU ARE NOT DISADVANTAGED IN SACRIFICING FOR THE LORD.

1 Corinthians 15:58 “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless” (New Living Translation)

Working for the Lord, doing the work of ministry, giving your energy, time, money and whatever you have for the work of the Lord is not a waste of time. It is investment. It has a return or a pay day. The Apostle Paul admonished the believers in Corinth that, nothing they do for the Lord and for the sake of the Lord is useless.

This assurance from the word must make you confident and bold when doing something for the Lord. Although most people are filled with a sense of insecurity when it comes to leaving the things of this world to follow the course of God, there is nothing to lose when you sacrifice for the Lord. No one embarks on God’s agenda, and loses out.

One principle you must understand in walking with God is that, what you want to hold on to will leave you but what you are ready to let go because of God will come to you in a better way. Don’t feel insecure when you have to let go of something in life to fully follow the Lord.

Sometimes you have to leave some friends, groups and some ventures to fully pursue the course of God.

Whatever you sacrifice, God has a way to bring unto you something better now and in the world to come. Jesus once told his disciples, “Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life”

Stay focused and GIVE Yourself FULLY TO THE LORD.

READ: Mark 10:28-30, “Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

BE RESPONSIBLE IN LIFE

Mathew 24:45-46 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing”

Having success in life is not a guess work, neither is it by coincidence. It takes the attitude of being responsible to have success and to maintain it. Without it, whatever you aim at will only become a pipe dream.

Being responsible means that, you have made and will make yourself to be accountable for anything that happens with whatever you have been entrusted with- time, money, resources, people, relationships, opportunities, etc.,

One dictionary definition also explains “responsible” this way, that when you are responsible for something, it is your job or duty to deal with it and make decisions relating to it. According to the Collins Dictionary, responsible people behave properly and sensibly, without needing to be supervised.

From the above explanations, it makes it clear that, for people to stand out in life, they must be responsible. This permeates all aspects of one’s life. You must be responsible as a Christian, you must be responsible in and with your education, you must be responsible in your matrimonial home, you must be responsible in your ministry, you must be responsible at your work place, etc.

In Mathew 24:45, the Bible says “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season”. You see, it takes being responsible to do what is expected of you at the right time and at the right place. Responsible folks know what duty or charge have been entrusted into their hands and they stretch themselves to deliver without giving any excuse or whatsoever.

You see, people who are responsible show that they are wise and faithful nothing more nothing less. As Christians God expects us to take charge over our lives and anything that has been entrusted into our hands. One undeniable attribute of people who are responsible is that they have results to show forth for anything that has been placed in their care. Are you responsible? How have you managed the resources, time, money and the opportunities that have come your way? Do you give so called “tangible excuses” for what you MUST do?

You see, no matter how you describe a reason for your failure, you have still failed. The only thing that defeats failure is success, and results- positive results. Have a clear understanding of what your assignment entails and device practical ways by which you can carry them out with perfection.

Learn never to give excuses when given a task. Go all out and put in your best to accomplish that task. Also, learn not to put off till tomorrow what you can do today. Be diligent and your gifts will set you before great men.

Growth, order and success are undeniable when you take responsibility of your life and everything that has been entrusted into your care.

SUPERNATURAL REJUVENATION

Deuteronomy 34:7 “Although Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eyesight was not dim, nor his natural strength abated” (AMP).

Moses lived to be 120 years old, and he wasn’t ready to die one may say. At his age, his strength was not down, and his eyes were in perfect condition. This is what supernatural rejuvenation is all about. His life didn’t take after the natural order. He went above what happens in the people in the natural.

In Joshua 14:10-12, Caleb also gave this testimony, “And now, look, the LORD has let me live, just as He said, these forty-five years since the LORD spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, look at me, I am eighty-five years old today. I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war and for going out and coming in. So now, give me this hill country about which the LORD spoke that day, for you heard on that day that the [giant-like] Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the LORD said.”

Caleb was eighty-five years and yet was ready for war. He was fired up for any challenge even at that age. Caleb knew it was God that rejuvenated his youth and no matter his age, the vision God gave must be accomplished before he exists, thus, age was never an excuse to fail or to demand anything less than what was originally promised.

You see, these Old Testament folks by virtue of walking with God experienced the miraculous in terms of natural strength at well advanced age in life. Their vision, mission, and ability was not compromised with in any way. But one truth remains, we are a generation that can do more when we align ourselves to the truth of God’s word and the workings of the Holy Spirit.

In Romans 8:11 the Bible says “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.” (AMP).

You see, you must not run away from your mandate with the excuse of aging. Believe God for supernatural ability beyond the normal. In fact, God also didn’t bring you here to be “normal”. He wants you to walk in the supernatural. Rise to the occasion. No matter your age God can work wonders in you, with you and through.

With the power of the Holy Spirit in you, every sickness shall be healed, health shall be released into you, every fiber of your being shall be empowered and no force of darkness can make you sick, weak and impotent.

READ: Psalm 103:5 “Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle” (AMP)

SUPERNATURAL WISDOM

James 3:17 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere”

Wisdom can be earthly or supernatural. As Christians God has called us to function with and in the supernatural wisdom. This is the wisdom that comes from God.

The world has its definition of what wisdom is, but that’s not the level or kind of wisdom we operate with. The God-kind of wisdom is a force. It makes you do the things that you have to do, say the things you have to say, and causes you to behave appropriately as the occasion demands.

You see, this awesome wisdom is not beyond your reach. It is Christ in you. Thus, when you surrender your life to him and he becomes your “Lord”, his wisdom is expressed through your life. Anyone who encounters Christ can’t remain in the realm of mediocrity, average living, and failure. No! It can’t be so.

When Peter and John appeared before the Sanhedrin and how he spoke about the salvation in Christ (Acts 4). The Bible says in Acts 4:13 that “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus”.

The wisdom of God made them outstanding. They had the right words for the right occasion. Their choice of words, courage and power or articulation was nothing that their accusers could gainsay. That’s to say that, failing, timidity, foolishness, and not excelling in life is not the hallmark of Christians. With the wisdom of God in you, He wants you to rise to the occasion and do exploits anytime, any day, and anywhere.

Give yourself fully to God’s holy word. This is the well of wisdom. As you meditate on it prayerfully and carefully you will see your life move from glory to glory.

READ: Proverbs 4:7, “The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation]”. (AMP)

TRUSTWORTHY IN A VERY SMALL MATTER

Luke 19:17 “And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities”.

It may seem like a paradox but one fact about life is that your response to small things or small matters is what will determine your greatness in life. Most folks missed out on becoming great because they abandoned or mishandled a little or small opportunity given them.

You see, to move to the top you must not despise the days of small beginnings or things. (Zechariah 4:10). In the parable in Luke 19, Jesus reveals how faithfulness or trustworthiness in small matters can open the door for a person to become great.

In his parable a master delivered onto his servants a “mina”- some amount of money. The first two servants traded with the mina and gained ten and five more respectively. But the third person did not do anything meaningful with the mina. Luke 19:20-21 says, “And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow”. The last servant had his own opinion or idea about his master leaving him with a “mina”. This affected his attitude towards the mandate given by the master. He failed to do anything with the money given to him. In fact, he didn’t prove himself trustworthy.

You see, anytime you are entrusted with the resources or opportunity of another person the test of your “trustworthiness” has started. How you handle the affairs of another man reveals your faithfulness or trustworthiness.

Some of the things for which your faithfulness will be required may be small things but it is the test route that when you pass you will be promoted to take charge of great things.

READ: 1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful”.

BE HOLY

1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy”.

Holiness is one of the subjects or topics that is mostly taught or discussed in the Christian fraternity. This tells the importance of Holiness in our walk with God.

This virtue of Holiness is the nature of God that is imparted to a person at salvation. It gives a person the sense of “worth” and a conscience that does not agree with sin or anything that contradicts the word of God.

Anything that is Holy is dedicated for a special purpose. It also connotes “separation” from common use or all others to one particular thing. This characteristics of holiness was predominantly revealed in the Old Testament with respect to the tabernacle that was erected by Moses and the items dedicated to the service. These items were not to be touched just by anyone and the people there ministered in the tabernacle were also restricted in what they could do or not do.

Thus, when the bible says “be holy” it means that you as a Christian have the capacity and the ability to do it. One, you have the Holy Spirit that guides you to be in sync with God’s perfect will and secondly you have the word of God that instructs you and teaches you what to do.

So for the Christian, living in Holiness is a choice. That’s to say that you decide to do it with the ability and impartation of God that is already in you or you can decide not to do it by also allowing your flesh and the world to control you.

That’s why the bible in 1 Peter 1:14 starts like “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance”. And it furthered it by saying in 1 Peter 1:16 that “be holy…”. That’s to mean that you need to be obedient to the lord as your father to walk in holiness.

You also need not to conform to the world. God has called you to walk in holiness. Never give in to any sinful act or the corrupt standards of this world.
