BE ZEALOUS IN SOUL WINNING

Soul winning is the greatest responsibility of the believer. That is God’s charge to every believer. Mathew 28:19 says “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Mark 16:15 also says “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”. You see, every Christian has a duty making disciples or preaching the gospel to the unsaved.

In fulfilling this mandate, you must never hesitate to share the Gospel to the lost. Never be ashamed either, for the Gospel is the power of God that brings salvation. You must be unashamed in sharing the gospel like the Apostle Paul who said “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to” (Romans 1:16).

You see, what this messy world needs is not a political revolution, or an economic revolution. The TRUE need of our world today is the message of the Gospel. This sin and devil ruled world needs the word that saves, heals, restores, protects, empowers and gives people an eternal resting place. As a Christian you must do everything possible to preach the GOOD NEWS. Yes, do everything in your capacity to spread abroad the gospel. Jesus was a soul winner. He trained his followers to do same. He said “I have come to seek and to save the lost”. This mission, he executed with par excellence. Denials, betrayals, ungratefulness from people He had helped and wickedness did not deter him from his course. He preached till his last breath.

Beloved, don’t have the message that can save a lot of people and still sit down like there is nothing at stake? As you read this message, multitudes are descending to hell because they have died without knowing the Lord. Others are making serious mistakes that can cause them to lose Heaven. Be a soul winner today and forever. Hearken to the master’s call, and save someone.

Night is coming!

Everyday has its morning, afternoon and night. The occurrence of one leads to the other. Thus, the passage of time draws us closer to the night. This is a period of rest from activity. It is a moment when nothing can be done again.

Jesus had this to say about the night that is coming. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work (John 9:4). It is an undoubtable fact and truth that night will catch up with every one of us. Whether you are saved or not, whether you are rich or poor, whether you are learned or not, whether you are strong or weak. It is just a matter of time.

The passage of time will bring us all to one end, one reality, one moment of life and season where we can by ourselves do nothing. To some this night can be death and for the rest this night can be the coming of the Lord. Whichever we may encounter, your life and mine will follow after the words of preacher John Ellerton’s song “Now the laborer’s task is over; now the battle day is past; now upon the farther shore lands the voyager at last”

If you can read this RHEMA today, it may be your morning or afternoon. But without any shadow of doubt, the reality of night will one day dawn. You can be called to rest by the Lord, or rapture can happen any time soon.
It is towards the coming of this night that the master is calling us to his side. Yes, the master is calling to us to come to his haven.

Before you give in to the passing vanities of this life, remember that you have only one life to live on earth. Don’t waste your life less your night may be without the light of the Lord Jesus. The passage of every minute clocks us to the end, which may be your night.
Repent if you must, be saved if you must, be serious if you must and work for God if you must. In fact, do what you know that you must do. Don’t waste your morning and your afternoon. That’s your seed sowing time. The night is only for harvest. Ponder on the ways of your life and do what the Lord wants in this season before your night comes.

Submit to correction
One of the priceless things you can receive in life is correction. Correction is very important since it always make one better in life. Generally, we progress from one stage in life to another not only by learning but also by yielding to correction.

The Cambridge dictionary defines correction as a change that rectifies an error or a change made to something in other to improve it. Thus, any time you are corrected the ultimate objective is to bring an improvement in your life or to something you are doing. Not only that, correction also helps to put you on track or put you right in relation to something you are doing.

Correction is one subject that the Bible has taught on extensively. This is why no child of God or any spirit filled believer should have a problem with submitting to correction. When you are corrected and you receive it in good faith and comply with whatever instruction you are given, that is submitting to correction.

You see, one basic reason for the scripture or the written word of God is to correct us. 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”. God’s word corrects us in life.

Proverbs 3:11-12 also says “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom”. Meaning that, any time you are corrected, it is a proof that you are loved.

Never take corrections lightly. Also remember that correction like any other instruction will never benefit you when you don’t follow it. You will be corrected by God, you will be corrected by people ahead of you in life, you will be corrected by parents and you will be corrected by friends. But whichever way the correction may come pray for a willing heart and mind so that you can submit to it.

Read: Our human fathers correct us for a short time, and they do it as they think best. But God corrects us for our own good, because he wants us to be holy, as he is (Hebrews 12:10 CEV)

Help begets help

One way to get help in life is to help others. As ironic as it may seem, this is the principle that God’s word teaches. “Help” also follows the principle of sowing and reaping. If you sow “help” you are sure to receive it when the tables turn. In fact, it will come back to you good measure press down, shaken together and running over.

On the subject of help, Solomon by the Spirit has this to say, “He who shuts his ear to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be answered” (Proverbs 21:13). You see, irrespective of your circumstance in life, there are people below you who you can help. Stopping and attending to such folks in the course of your endeavors is what brings the help you also need. You must also know that, when you are not ready to help other people, you shut the doors of help on your life.

The Bible says, when you shut your ears to the cry of other people because you don’t want to make a turn to respond to people, you will also not get people to attend to you when you cry for help.

A story was told of a young man that was taken ill with a death threatening disease. In his desire to get healed, he went to be ministered to in a healing service, but as he waited in the service for the man of God to approach him and pray for him, he noticed another sick fellow who was carried to the service in a helpless manner. In fact, this sick person was almost close to his last breath when considered by the young man. The young man upon noticing this got up and started praying for the healing and miracle of the other sick fellow. Not long after, the man of God ministered to the one that came in last and was healed. It was amidst the joy and thanking God for the miracle he had wrought on the man that was almost dead that the young also realized that, he was standing on his feet and couldn’t trace any symptoms of the ill health he brought.

The question one may ask is “what happened?”. Well help begot help. Help generated help. Help produced help. The young man went beyond the “death threat” on his life to pray for another person’s healing and he also got his help.

Inasmuch as you are looking for help from the Lord, also make it your calling to help others. That help will help you.

People live with all kinds of fear in life. Some live with the fear of sickness, failure, and death. Nonetheless, God has brought every born again Christian to a domain where fear’s hold and influence is absolutely broken. The Bible clearly teaches that God has not given us the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

You see, as a Child of God, the knowledge of who you are in Christ will let you overcome any fear in life especially the fear of death. David by the Spirit of God said, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4).The fear of death must not hold you captive as a Child of God.

As Christians we serve a God who has power over death. This is the more reason we must not live our lives with the fear of death. Never for one moment give in to the torture and the discomfort that the fear of death produces. Remember the words of Jesus that says “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die …”(John 11:25, 26).

You see, Jesus meant business when he said: “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die”. Know that, the moment you receive Jesus as savior, the old life passed away and a new life came into existence. That was your real death experience. “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).

Live and walk in life with joy. Never let fear of things like sickness and death cripple your God given vision in life. Whatever the situation will turn out to be, the Bible says“you are more than a conqueror”(Romans 8:37). Glory to God!

Love, faith’s engine

There is nothing as precious as having faith. In fact, the Bible teaches the “impossible” things that those who have faith can accomplish. Jesus for instance spoke about our faith moving mountains in Mark 11:23. “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;he shall have whatsoever he saith”. The authors of the book of Hebrews also give insight to the creative power of faith. Hebrews 11:3 says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”.

Despite all these great things that faith can do, it needs to be fueled, powered or made operational by love. Galatians 5:6 says “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. You see, your faith works through love.

Although people try to associate weakness and powerlessness to love, that is not the case. Love is actually a divine force. It get things done through faith.Love drives your faith to work. Love emboldens your faith to produce results. You must understand that without love, your faith will be inoperative.

You see, your faith will only work when your love is intact.Love is a faith propellant. Your faith can’t give you any spectacular results when you don’t walk in love. If you want to master faith, master love. These two forces works together. You must walk in love to go far in your faith.

So you see, whether faith for healing, faith for finances, and faith for overcoming the storms of life, it all comes from love. Trying to exercise faith without love is like trying to drive a car without an engine. It can’t get you anywhere irrespective of how hard you try.

Demonstrate your love.

Love should not just be something you say but also something you do. In other words, you must learn to demonstrate your love. By demonstrating your love, I mean you act the love of God in your heart out. Anytime you demonstrate something, you give a practical exhibition or explanation of the thing. You see, we can’t walk about and say we love people with nothing to show for it.

The Bible says in 1 John 3:18 that “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions”. The text above simply reveals that when love is at work there is always a manifestation or a demonstration. Love makes you show concern by doing something. Love is best expressed with positive actions

The Apostle John has this to say on this truth in 1 John 3:17 : “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him”. The Amplified Bible renders it this way, “But whoever has the world’s goods (adequate resources),and sees his brother in need, but has no compassion for him, how does the love of God live in him?” Don’t just claim you love. Let good works follow it.

You see, Love has works. It does not only talk. You can’t say that you love without acting it out in a positive way. You can’t see a brother in need when you have what it takes to help but still ignore him and claim that you are walking in love. In demonstrating your love, you care for people, you give to people, you encourage people, you pray for people, you share with people, you visit people and above all you preach Jesus to people.

Love just like faith must be backed with corresponding actions. Make your love for God and the brethren evident. Your actions must let people know that you walk in love.

Let brotherly love continue!

Hebrews 13:1 says “Let brotherly love continue”. The Young’s Literal Translation puts it in a more simplified way “Let brotherly love remain”. One virtue that characterizes the new life or the “born again” folks is love. Love is both our life and our being. Thus, we go about our daily life by walking in love towards all men, both saved and unsaved.

You see, as a believer, you are not known by your prayers or by how regular you attend church services. Although these are very important things in your Christian life, it does not spread the fragrance of the new life you have received from God like your love does. Jesus once said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35).

As a believer, you are known by your love. God has wired you to be a dispenser of love in this “loveless”and “selfish” world. This is why the bible teaches that, we must let brotherly love abide, remain, continue. In fact, the Contemporary English Version puts the Hebrews 13:1 in a classic way by saying “Keep being concerned about each other as the Lord’s followers should”.

You see, you can’t claim to love without being concerned. Love makes you wake up daily with people in your heart and mind. You think about people to bless, help and to pray for. This is the way to let brotherly love continue. Anger, bitterness, revenge, blackmailing, quarrels, contentions and the likes must and should not operate through you as a Christian. No justification or whatsoever should be given for these “love quenchers”.

Remember that God has brought us into the arena of love. What matters in life now is love. Meaning that brothers and sisters should be able to live together in love. Married couples should be able to live together in love and peace with all their differences to God’s glory.

Let brotherly love continue. Allow brotherly love to continue. Make sure that brotherly love continues. Give room for brotherly love to operate.

It all comes down to love.

Read: 1 John 4:20 “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen”

Humility brings honour.

Contrary to popular worldly opinion, humility brings honour and recognition to its devotees.
The Bible says “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:10). Thus no one gets to the top without humility. As a matter of fact, before honour is HUMILITY. Proverbs 22:4 says “By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life”
No man can wear the crown of honour without being humble. How humble you are in life will determine how far you can go. Humility is such a great virtue that we must cultivate. The wise man by the Spirit of God said in Proverbs 15:33 that “The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility”.
Never think of being great if you can’t pay the price of humility. Humility is a factor that will make you learn from others, submit to an authority, and give you a teachable spirit. You see, even though many people will choose to be proud than to be humble, dare to be different.
Let God’s word guide you in your path of humility. It has the power to recourse you and to re-program your life. Always remember that, it is a display of great WISDOM, when you decide to be humble and learn from others. Never become defiant and offended when corrected in the course of life.
The Bible has many examples of great people who traveled on the path of humility. We can make mention of Moses who was considered the meekest of all men. (Numbers 12:3)
Another example we can talk about is Jesus who took upon himself the form of a man and a servant despite his power and authority as God. (Philippians 2:5-8)
Let go of pride and just as the Lord Jesus, choose the path of humility. Always remember, the way to the TOP is through Humility.

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12).

There is a fight that every believer must fight. This fight is not a carnal fight where people exchange blows or use natural weapons to hurt one another. The fight of faith is a fight in which you use your faith to battle the works of the enemy to enjoy your inheritance in Christ.

In this fight, you lay hold of what the Lord says is yours with the “force of faith”. You don’t give the devil the chance to mess things up in your life. It is a fight you engage in to ensure that whatever the Lord has said about you is not hindered by the devil.

The Bible says, the devil is in to steal, kill and to destroy (John 10:10).  Thus, even though you may be a genuine child of God, if you don’t fight off the thief in your territory you may not make a headway in life.

In this good fight of faith you stand on God’s word to resist the devil. You must vehemently speak God’s word against any works of darkness that wants to work in your space. You see, you must violently refuse the enemy access in your terrain.

Remember that, God will not do this for you.  Don’t cry when you must stand and rebuke satanic works against your life. Rebuke sickness, rebuke sinful habits, rebuke poverty, and rebuke fear. Crying, complaining and worrying is not a solution when it comes to warfare. In fact, we don’t cry in a combat. Engage the weapons of warfare that God has given to you and victory will be yours.
