CONTINUE IN THE SPIRIT

Galatians 3:3
“Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

The Christian life is a spiritual journey. From the very moment you received Christ, your new life began by the Spirit. It is not a product of human effort but of God’s power working in you. Therefore, the believer must continue in the same Spirit-led life that brought him into Christ.

Unfortunately, many Christians begin well in the Spirit but gradually shift their dependence to the flesh. They try to perfect by self-effort what was birthed by the Spirit. This is exactly what Paul warned against in Galatians 3:3, reminding us that maturity in Christ is not achieved through human strength, legalistic works, or natural wisdom, but by the Spirit of God.

When believers attempt to live the Christian life in their own strength, they eventually fall prey to worldly desires and fleshly appetites. Such dependence on the flesh leads only to frustration and defeat. Scripture is clear on this in Galatians 6:8 (KJV):
“For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

As a believer you have a choice to walk in the flesh and reap corruption, or to walk in the spirit and enjoy everlasting life.

Nonetheless, make the choice to continue in the spirit. It will cause you to stay aligned with God’s purpose, overcome the pressures of the world, and finish your Christian race strong.

Know that, a Spirit-led life is the surest path to victory, fruitfulness, and eternal reward.

Read: Galatians 5:16 “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to remain steadfast in with spiritual things.

REMEMBER THE LORD ALWAYS

Deuteronomy 8:10–11
“When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day.”

Forgetting God after He has blessed us is one of the greatest dangers in the Christian walk. Many cry desperately to God in prayer, but once He answers and lifts them up, they gradually lose sight of Him. They stop honoring Him, neglect His Word, and even forget the very people He used as channels of blessing in their lives.

To “remember the Lord” means to keep Him at the center of your gratitude, your obedience, and your daily walk. It is to always trace your progress back to His hand of mercy. David understood this when he declared in Psalm 103:2: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”

You see, remembering God is not only about words of thanksgiving, but also about living in obedience to His commands. Gratitude without obedience is empty. That is why Moses warned Israel not to let abundance blind them to the God who gave them the land.

Many today enjoy the fruit of answered prayers—jobs, marriages, promotions, health—yet fail to continually acknowledge the Source. They forget the Lord who carried them from pain to gain, shame to fame, grass to grace, and nothing to something.

Beloved, always be intentional about gratitude. Thank God for the victories, the processes, and even the people He brought your way. Relationships, mentors, and opportunities are part of His blessing—never despise them.
Gratitude preserves, but forgetfulness destroys. Guard your heart against pride, keep God at the center, and live each day mindful of His goodness.

Read Psalm 50:22 warns: “Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you.”
Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always remember your doings in my life and be grateful. Amen

MASTERING SELF-CONTROL

Proverbs 25:28
“Like a city that is broken down and without walls [leaving it unprotected] is a man who has no self-control over his spirit [and sets himself up for trouble].”

One of the greatest keys to lasting success in life is the ability to exercise control. Control keeps things from running overboard or moving without direction.

While it is important to manage external systems and circumstances, the most vital area to master is control over yourself.

No matter how skilled you are at managing people or situations, if you lack self-control, failure will eventually catch up with you.

Self-control may be difficult if you rely only on human strength, but it becomes possible when you yield to the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit has already equipped your renewed inner man with the ability to exercise discipline and restraint.

When you live with self-control, you regulate your cravings for power, your appetite for pleasure, and your desire for material gain. It teaches you to live with moderation and under biblical guidance. It sets boundaries for your body, soul, and spirit so you do not step outside God’s will.

Never do things just because you can. If you allow yourself to move without restraint, sin will eventually ruin your life. Practicing self-control requires intentional and consistent effort. You can begin by disciplining what you eat, what you watch, the conversations you engage in, and your appetite for money, power, or sex.

Read: Proverbs 29:11 “A [shortsighted] fool always loses his temper and displays his anger, but a wise man [uses self-control and] holds it back.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank You that self-control is part of the fruit of the spirit within me. Grant me grace to walk in it daily and glorify You with my life. Amen.

NEVER REPAY EVIL WITH EVIL

Romans 12:17 “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone”

The life of a believer is a call to love, not retaliation. Walking with God means refusing to respond to evil with evil, no matter how others treat you. Evil must never flow from you to those who wrong you.

Unfortunately, much of the chaos in our world today is the fruit of people repaying wrong with wrong. Even the Church, which should shine as an example, sometimes falls into this trap. Human reasoning suggests, “Fight back so you won’t be seen as weak.” But that is nothing more than worldly thinking, rooted in disobedience to God’s Word.

Never forget that your actions can’t be justified if they contradict Scripture. Evil is still evil, whether your feelings validate it or society encourages it. People may misrepresent you, misquote you, take you for granted, act ungrateful, or even take advantage of you. These experiences are real and painful, but they are not an excuse to disobey God.

True blessing and promotion come when you choose to stand by the Word, even against all odds. Make up your mind today: no matter what wrong is done to you, you will not repay evil for evil.

Read: Proverbs 20:22 “Don’t take it on yourself to repay a wrong. Trust the LORD and he will make it right”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always walk in love and never repay people with the wrong they do to me. Amen

BUILD YOUR SPIRIT

Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit” (AMP)

One truth that you must know as a Christian is that man is a spirit. The “real you” is a spirit. So, you are first and foremost a spirit, but you have a soul, and you live in a body.
Your body is only a tent you live in. Thus, seeing yourself as a “body” or as “natural being” will limit your divine life.

You see, man is supernaturally natural. That is, you are a divine being with the ability to express yourself in the natural. This is why it is important to give priority to your spirit and build it up.

Your spirit is made alive when you get saved. Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins”. But doing nothing about your spirit, which is the “real you” puts you in the class of the “natural” or the “ordinary”.

You need to constantly engage yourself in meditating on the word of God, praying in the spirit, fasting (which helps you to be receptive to the Lord, and helps you to concentrate), and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit to build your spirit. You see, your spirit feeds on God’s infallible word and not stories or fables.

Believers who are lazy never make progress in nurturing their spirit. It takes hard work and great discipline to build your spirit. You can’t make progress spiritually when you prefer unnecessary chatting to studying, praying and meditating on God’s word.

You must make time out of your busy schedule to study the word, pray in the spirit and worship to build your spirit. This is something you must learn to do as an individual.
Don’t wait to be in Church before you do these things.

Build yourself spiritually and you will always triumph in life.

Read: 1 Peter 2:2 “  like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment]”

Prayer: Pray and thank the Lord for his grace that has been available for you to grow in the faith.

EXHORT PEOPLE IN LIFE

Hebrews 3:13 ” But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”

Discouragement is not an uncommon human experience. Especially for the believers. We are sometimes faced with unexpected troubles and discouragements that we aren’t prepared for. This is why we need to exhort one another. Exhortation is very crucial for our walk of faith.

To exhort means to strongly encourage or urge someone to do something. You see, as Christians, we must encourage one another to keep the faith, do the right things and to strive for excellence. Without encouragement, some believers may likely be carried away by the deceitfulness of sin, as revealed in our opening text.

Like any ordinary person, Jesus’ disciples also needed encouragement. Jesus Christ told his disciples “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” ( John 16:33). Jesus did not shy from telling His followers about the troubles they would face. In fact, He told them how the world would hate them (John 15:18-21), however, he also encouraged them to rejoice since He has overcome the world.

You see, anytime you are encouraged, you can move on in life with great tenacity even though things may not be in their rightful place.

You must know that, just as you need encouragement from some other believer, someone also needs your encouragement. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend”. Instead of criticizing or accusing people, use the time and the opportunity to encourage them. Use the scriptures to encourage someone today. Reach out to someone, let the person know that “it is well for the righteous” (Isaiah 3:10)

Read: Romans 15:4: For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Prayer: Lord, give me grace and wisdom to encourage people in my life

STICK TO THE WORD

Acts 20:32 “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

There are many things people cleave to in life for survival and relevance. But as Christians what we need to navigate steer the course of life is the word of God. God’s word will reveal truth, principles and instructions that gives wisdom and empower us for exploits in all spheres of life.

Thus, if there is anything to go with in this day and age, is the word of God. It is a timeless truth. It transcends cultures and dispensations. The truth, and principles revealed in God’s word is to help us build faith in the Lord, transform our lives and to empower us to live a victorious life everyday.

Our opening text, admonishes that we must “go with the word of God”. You see, whatever you allow that is not sanctioned by God’s word is temporal. Yes, some may produce some kind of results others may not. Thus, to live a life free of trial and error and frustration from not being productive, go wit God’s word. Don’t follow strange practices in the name of spirituality. Nothing can be more spiritual than the simple and easy to grasp truth in God’s word.

Follow simple truths and principles like obedience, prayer, faith, godliness, honesty, right living, giving, and your life will transformed from glory to glory.

Read: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to lay hold on your word and live by it at all times. Amen

HOLD FAST TO YOUR CONFESSION

Hebrews 4:13 “Since then we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.”

To hold fast to your confession means to stand unwaveringly on what you believe and to continually declare it, no matter the circumstances around you. Confession is not mere positive speaking, it is aligning your words with God’s unchanging truth.

Most believers have not made confession of God’s word an everyday affair. They only declare God’s promises in prayer or in church, but when the pressure of life intensifies or when results delay, they abandon their confession. For example, someone battling sickness may boldly declare, “I am healed by the stripes of Jesus,” but if the symptoms persist for weeks or months, doubt creeps in and they stop confessing. The same happens with finances, marriage, or ministry. When the manifestation is not instant, they give up. But the bible says “HOLD FAST YOUR CONFESSION”. In other words, keep saying and don’t stop talking it.

You see, the Word of God always works. It is alive, powerful, and unshakable. Holding fast to your confession means you keep speaking the Word until it saturates your heart, renews your mind, and overflows into visible results. Faith confessions are not “hit-and-run” attempts; they are continuous declarations that shape your reality. When you keep declaring God’s Word, it will produce in you health, strength, peace, prosperity, and righteousness.

Never let the enemy or anything silence your voice of faith.

Read: Hebrews 4:13 “And there is nothing in creation hidden from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account. Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has already ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].”

Prayer: Lord, thank you that as I hold on to the confession of my faith, I see positive results in my life

HONOUR, A DEBT WE OWE

Romans 13:7
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”

Honour is not an optional virtue in the life of a believer. It is a divine obligation. Every relationship you have and every person you encounter carries with it certain responsibilities before God.

Anytime we honour people, we express that we value them, and esteem them highly.

From Romans 13:1, we learn that those in positions of leadership, whether spiritual, parental, civil, or professional, have been placed there by God. This means that in the home, honouring your parents is not just cultural courtesy; it is obedience to God. In the church, respecting and honouring your pastor or spiritual leader is a way of acknowledging God’s order in your life. Even in society, showing respect to government authorities is part of your Christian duty.

Honour covers all relationships where authority and responsibility are involved. The Bible even calls it a debt. Therefore, you do not honour out of convenience or preference, but out of conviction and obedience.

Know that, true honour is not only expressed in words but also in attitudes and actions. No matter the circumstance, resist the urge to dishonour those to whom honour is due. Remember, honour is not weakness; rather, it is strength, humility, and obedience to God’s order.

Read: 1 Peter 2:17 says: “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor.”

Prayer: I pray for grace and wisdom to master the virtue of giving honour to people.

LIVE FEARLESSLY IN CHRIST

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Fear is one of the enemy’s greatest weapons against the believer, but it is not God’s will for His children to live in fear. As a Christian, you must resist every attempt of the enemy to trap you in fear and intimidation.

Fear is not merely an emotion. It is a spirit. It creeps in to dominate the mind, distort reality, and enslave the heart. It robs people of peace, cripples faith, and creates insecurity and inferiority complexes. Fear paralyzes vision and progress. It keeps many from stepping into opportunities God has already prepared for them. More than failure itself, it is fear of failure that has stopped people from rising to their potential.

But thanks be to God. You have not been given the spirit of fear. In Christ, you have received the Spirit of power to overcome, the Spirit of love to walk boldly and securely in God’s presence, and the Spirit of a sound mind to live in confidence and peace.

Therefore, stand your ground as a child of God. Refuse to be held captive by fear of the future, fear of people, fear of death, or any satanic intimidation. Instead, walk in the boldness of your identity in Christ.

Read: Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the spirit of love, power and a sound mind. Fear has no place in my life. Amen
