DEAD TO SIN.

Romans 6:1-2
“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer”

The born-again Christian does not continue to willingly live in sin. The born-again experience does not only restore our relationship with the Lord, but it also brings us the consciousness of living our lives to please the Lord.

As a Christian, your spirit man, which was once dead, is made alive at salvation. Thus, your soul and your flesh do not become the controlling center of your life, but rather your spirit. Your union with Christ, has given you power over sin. You have power over the forces of sin and any form of evil that the devil wants to lure you into.

The bible says “For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin (Romans 6:6).
Know that at salvation, the nature that you once carried that made sin appealing and without guilt to engage it was destroyed. You now have a new nature made in the likeness of God.

Ephesians 4:24 says “and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].”
This is why the nature of sin no longer has dominion over you. Through Christ’s sacrifice, you have been set free from that. You have the power now to resist sin and anything associated with it and walk in righteousness.

Read: Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

Pray: Lord, I thank You for the victory over sin. I resist every temptation and declare that I walk in righteousness, free from every bondage, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PEOPLE FACTOR.

1 Samuel 10:2-4
“2 When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son? 3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: 4 And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.”

People are crucial in our “success journey.” In as much as some people may not serve your interest in making it in life, it is also important to know that some people are your guideposts and propellers into your destiny.

Our opening verses tell how Saul was greatly helped by people after an unfruitful task of searching for his father’s lost donkeys. His fruitless journey turned into what would become a destiny-changing moment when certain people came his way.

Saul met Samuel the prophet, who revealed to him how to receive the ministry of people. Thus, during discouragement, Saul had people who encouraged him. He also had people who gave to him. In a moment, Saul was opened into a world of people. This turned his life around from a lost donkey searcher to a king in the making.

Know for certain that your success in life often depends on the quality of people around you. Acknowledging the role of your “God-sent man”—be it your pastor, mentors, friends, or parents—demonstrates wisdom and humility. It is not true that you need no one; rather, you need the right people.

The Bible underscores the importance of companions and mentors: “Woe to him who is alone…” (Ecclesiastes 4:10). God places specific individuals in your life to guide, correct, and elevate you. Cherish, honor, and listen to these individuals, for they hold the key to unlocking certain aspects of your destiny.

Read: Proverbs 27:17 “You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for wisdom and insight to see and know the people you have brought into my life to help fulfill my destiny.

FAITH HAS WORKS.

James 2:26
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

True faith is accompanied by action. Believing without action is incomplete. Anytime you believe in something, you take what is called a step of faith. You act on what you believe. This is how faith produces results.

To claim that you have faith, but it is not accompanied by actions, is merely agreeing with something mentally. Faith is of the heart, and out of the abundance of the heart proceed actions.

The Bible records how blind Bartimaeus drew the attention of Jesus to his predicament by crying out loud for help. Mark 10:46-47 says:
“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.” His call to Jesus was an act of faith.

It goes without saying that there were many people aside from Bartimaeus who had several health issues or other challenges. But no one had faith in action like he did. His act of faith brought him the miracle he wanted. See Mark 10:52:
“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.”

If you believe that God’s Word is true and His promises to you are yea and amen, you’ve got to act on it. Don’t talk sickness, don’t talk defeat, don’t talk failure. Live and act like a victor. Let God’s Word be on your lips, and constantly align your actions to it.
With this truth, step out and work towards your goals in academics, career, family, or ministry. Let your faith propel you into action.

Read: John 14:12“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to the Father.”

Pray: Lord, strengthen my faith and guide me to take bold steps that glorify Your name. Amen.

GIVE ATTENTION TO GOD’S WORD; IT BRINGS HEALTH.

Proverbs 4:20-24
” 20 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips..”

God’s Word is more than just a source of wisdom—it is life and health. It holds the key to healing, restoration, and victory in every area of life. When we give our attention to God’s Word, we align ourselves with divine wisdom that transcends natural understanding.

The Word of God has the power to heal and renew, affecting not just our spirits but our physical bodies as well. Jesus in John 6:63 said that the word is life and spirit. Thus, as we meditate on the word it gains access to our spirit and ultimately affects our lives in the natural.
When you give attention to the word and it dominates your heart, it will automatically become your confession.

As a Christian, it is important to note that, God’s word has power over sickness, and diseases. This is one reality God’s word will unveil in your spirit. With this consciousness, you will be able to speak health consistently, not only that, but you can also speak against any attack on your health at all times.

Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions”. Meaning having the word, is a great antidote for any ailment. Stay with the word and you will always remain healthy to God’s glory.

Read: 3 John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Prayer: Lord, I commit to attending to Your Word daily. Let your word bring life and health to my being. Amen.

JESUS CHRIST OUR REDEEMER.

Isaiah 53:1-5
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

To redeem means to release from a bond, set free from captivity or slavery, buy back something lost or sold, or exchange something in one’s possession for something of greater value.

Christ’s coming to earth was solely for our redemption. He came to set us free from the bond of the devil, substituting His life for ours to satisfy the legal requirements.

Before Christ’s redemptive act, God instituted atonement through animal sacrifices, allowing people to reconnect with Him after sinning. Leviticus 16:20-22 describes this process, where the sins of the people were symbolically transferred to a scapegoat, which was then sent into the wilderness.

These sacrifices foreshadowed what God would do permanently to deliver humanity from sin. Hebrews 10:4-5 says, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. Wherefore when He cometh into the world, He saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me.”

Jesus’ coming was a one-time solution to bring us out of the dominion of the devil and restore our relationship with God. Titus 2:14 says, “He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.”

Jesus’ death on the cross paid the full penalty for our sins and broke the devil’s power over us. He is our Savior, Healer, Peace, and Righteousness. He came to give us life in abundance.
If you haven’t surrendered your life to Him, do so today. This is how you can be free from sin’s dominion and restore your relationship with God.

Read: Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’’

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to You. Thank You for paying the price for my sins. Amen.

DON’T HINDER YOUR FAITH.

Galatians 5:6
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.”

Faith is central to our Christian life. To keep our faith unhindered, we must consistently walk in love. Any believer who desires results through the exercise of their faith must also ensure their “love life” is in order.

Walking in love is nonnegotiable for the Christian. Faith, when detached from love, can become destructive rather than edifying. God’s gift of faith—whether saving faith or the special gift of faith—is meant to benefit the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7-9).

Always remember that faith works through love. If you harbor ill will or bitterness toward others, you are not walking in love, and your faith will falter.
Exercise your faith daily, but be just as eager to walk in love. Faith and love go hand in hand. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love” (NIV).

If you notice a deficiency in your faith, examine your love for God and others. Faith always works, but it operates according to principles. Engage them rightly, and you will excel.

Read: 1 John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will help me walk in love as I endeavor to exercise my faith daily.

BE HONEST WHEN DEALING WITH PEOPLE.

Romans 9:1
“I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit.”

One cardinal principle you must uphold as a Christian is honesty. Learn to boldly speak the truth and live by it, regardless of what others may say.

Honesty means being truthful, straightforward, and free from deceit. It helps us deal with others with integrity and breeds trust. Without honesty, our relationships with people become mechanical and burdened by legalities.

When you are honest, you are seen as dependable and trustworthy. Honesty enables you to fulfill promises made to God and others.
Whether in ministry, family life, business, or any other area, let honesty guide you. In these end times, honesty may come at a cost, but it is better to stand for what is right than to align with what is wrong.

Never make others believe a lie or deceive them. Honesty is a virtue that opens doors to greatness.

Read: Psalm 15:4, NKJV “He who swears to his own hurt and does not change.”

Prayer: Lord, help me to walk honestly. Amen.

YOUR ACTIONS CAN DESTROY A LOT OF THINGS.

Ecclesiastes 9:18
“Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroys much good.”

One of the wisest things to do in life is to never belittle your actions. Your actions and inactions don’t only affect you—they can impact many others, including your family, friends, church, and even your employer.

Our opening text says, “One sinner destroys much good.” This means that one action, if not directed toward something good, can cause significant damage.

In Joshua 7, we see a practical example of one sinner destroying much good. The Bible recounts how a man named Achan sinned by stealing a garment, 200 shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold, despite God’s clear instructions that all the booty from Jericho was to be devoted to Him. Joshua 6:19 says, “But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.”

Despite the Lord’s command, Achan took the devoted items to his house. His action led to the death of many and fear among the Israelites. Joshua 7:5 records that about thirty-six men in their army were killed as a result. The Israelites were chased from the city gate as far as the stone quarries and struck down on the slopes, causing their hearts to melt in fear and become like water.

Do not think only about your selfish interests when making decisions. Your actions can cost your family, nation, church, and others connected to you. Before you act, pause and ponder. Always consider the bigger picture, and your life will be a blessing.

Read: Matthew 5:16, TPT “So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will grant unto me wisdom and the heart to be considerate in any action I want to take in life.

NEVER GIVE UP IN LIFE.

Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (NKJV)

Everyone is tempted in life. One of the most frequent temptations is the urge to “give up” on something we have started or even on life itself. This was exactly the situation Joshua faced. He woke up one day to find that leadership responsibilities had shifted to him. No longer just an aide to Moses, he was now the leader of God’s people, tasked with guiding them into the Promised Land.

A normal person in his position might feel inadequate and overwhelmed. Many would consider quitting rather than bearing such a heavy responsibility. But whether we like it or not, this is the reality of life. We cannot know every detail of the journey ahead. That is why it is crucial to have God and, just as importantly, courage.

As the saying goes, “The devil is in the details.” Courage compensates for the untold details. Though the specifics of what must be done may seem complicated and daunting, courage acts as a shock absorber and keeps you moving forward.

When tides change, new challenges arise, or tough times come, rely on your courage. The Holy Spirit and God’s Word within you are sufficient to generate the courage you need.
Do not abandon your life, ministry, marriage, finances, or career because of unforeseen difficulties. The truth is, you cannot prepare for everything, but courage will help you handle any surprises.

In the end, everyone needs courage to fulfill their God-given destiny.

Read: 2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Prayer: Father, grant me the courage to press on, no matter the challenges. Thank You for being with me and making me a winner in life. Amen.

GOD’S POWER IN YOU.

Ephesians 3:20
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (NKJV)

One of the remarkable realities of the new creation, or the born-again Christian, is that they carry the power of God. Irrespective of age, gender, or race, one undeniable truth about every believer is the power of God at work within them.

It is important to constantly reflect on this truth. Know that as a Christian, you are not empty. Divinity is at work in you. To think that you are worthless or helpless is inconsistent with who and what God has made you.

Our opening text says God will do everything and even beyond what we ask or think, according to His power at work within us.
The power to change difficult situations and overcome challenges lies within you. This power is nothing less than the presence and work of the Holy Spirit. John 14:17 says, “Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

Never for a moment think that something is beyond your reach. God’s power within you is sufficient to accomplish the unimaginable. From your spirit to your soul and body, God’s power can make things work well for you.

Do not live in fear or give up when faced with difficulties. Look within—into your spirit—and remind yourself, “He is able to do anything according to His power in me.”

Always put the power of God in you to work, and you will become the person God intends for you to be. Let the Greater One in you take charge forever.

Read: 1 John 4:4, NKJV “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank You that You live in me. You are greater than any challenge I face. Amen.
