PUT ON CHRIST.

Ephesians 4:22, 24
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness

One of the greatest miracles in life is being born again. It is an encounter that brings life to your dead spirit and makes you alive.
Not only that, it also imparts the nature and the virtues of God into you. This is what makes a person new.

Therefore to successfully live out the new life, you must put off the old man by not letting your carnal or natural desires rule your life.

By knowledge of the word, you must live out the new identity or the new life you have in Christ.
This is how you put on the new man.

Anytime you put on the new man you deny the flesh access to control you.
Ephesians 4:25-27 teaches some things to put off and what to put on. It says “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. [26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: [27] Neither give place to the devil.”

Read: Ephesians 4:22 “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always in the reality of the new man I carry.

KNOW THAT YOU ARE A WITNESS.

Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”

Every Christian has been empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel. Thus, when it comes to witnessing, it is no more about having the ability or not, but rather willingness or obedience.

You see, God’s charge to us this last days is to reach out to the unsaved. He wants us to testify of His goodness and to make Jesus known to the entire world.

God has put the world’s transformation on the wheels of the gospel. You must know that, the name of Jesus needs to be exalted so that many can be saved.

As a Christian, God has chosen and equipped you with the word and power to preach. You have been given power to function. Refuse shyness, fear and laziness from hindering you.

Be ready to preach the word both in season and out of season. Don’t be ashamed to preach the Gospel, because it releases power (Roman 1:16) that brings salvation and healing. Receive the grace to be a carrier of God’s message!

Read: 2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that the witnessing power will always be with me to testify of your goodness.

REMEMBER THE LORD YOUR GOD.

Deuteronomy 8:10-11
“When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day”

It is a display of great wisdom and gratitude when you don’t forget God as you make giant strides in life.

Most often than not, when God meet your needs and elevates you in life, there is the tendency to forget him. Thus, it is very important for you to safeguard your heart against being forgetful.

In other words, you must always keep it at heart or recall how God has fulfilled his word in your life and forever remain grateful.

You see, it is a known fact that most people are eager and quick to receive from the Lord, but easily forget all of his goodness. In fact, they refuse to continually appreciate and celebrate the goodness of God that made them who they are.

In Psalms103, David admonishes us to praise the Lord and remain unforgetful. He said “bless the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits”.

As a Christian, when you make any earthly endeavour that takes away your obedience to God, it shows that you have forgotten the Lord. Always recall the Lord’s goodness in your life.

Psalm 50:22 “Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for wisdom not to forget the lord my God when it is well with me.

SEE THROUGH THE EYES OF FAITH.

2 Corinthians 4:18
“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”.

As a believer, you must learn to see things with the eyes of faith. Looking at things with natural eyes will only make you draw conclusions or make decisions that will take you out from experiencing God’s glory.

The Bible says don’t look at the things which are seen. You see, whatever you see physically is temporal. But for you to have the miraculous, you must see the unseen through the eyes of faith.
You must see the word, you must see God’s promises and hold on to them

You see, it will be nothing but carnality when you limit life to sensuality- what you can see, feel, touch, etc. People who live with this mindset never make progress in their walk with God.

Be a person of faith and be fully persuaded to hold on to God’s word contrary to what evidences you may see with your natural eyes.

Read : 2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always walk and see with the eyes of faith.

FORGIVE RATHER THAN KEEPING OFFENSE.

Ephesians 4:2-3
“with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Our opening scripture admonishes us to be long suffering and to be patient with one another in love. This is to say that we should be able to tolerate each other as Christians, no matter what happens.

In as much as you are to do good to people always, there may be shortcomings sometimes. You might miss it by offending people and others may also miss it by offending you. Nonetheless you have to forgive rather than keeping or brooding over the offense.

You see, offences are like seeds that takes roots in our hearts, and when not checked has the capacity to bear very dangerous fruits. These fruits are the consequences we might face and may include ; bitterness, unanswered prayers, poor health conditions among others.
The above dangers associated with offences makes it a no good way to travel.

Mark 11:25 and Proverbs 17:22 tells how forgiveness is important to our prayer life and our health.
Holding on to an offence has the tendency to destroy your health in the long run. It can bring you strange illness and diseases like cancer, heart attack, etc.

Finally, keeping offences can open you up for demonic activities.

Let love lead, and not offence.

Read: Colossians 3:13
“forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:”
‭‭
Prayer: Lord, I pray for a heart that easily forgives rather than keeping offense.

OUR ETERNAL HOPE.

1 Corinthians 15:19
“If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied”. The hope of the believer is not only in this life. Our hope goes beyond the shores of this life.

You see, life on earth is transient. Thus, if our hope in Christ is for this earthly life, then the least said of it the better.
But that’s not the case. We have God’s abiding presence with us now and also in the world to come.

In teaching the Church in Corinth, the Apostle Paul said that if we do away with our earthly body, we have a new body from the Lord which is eternal.
2 Corinthians 5:1 says “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”

No wonder, life on earth is meaningless without Christ. Not only that, when you live denying the Lord today, you will be left to face the horrors in the world to come.
You see, Jesus is the answer for your life today, tomorrow and forever. Never be deceived to put your trust in earthly things and the fleeting fantasies of life.
Believe in the Lord now and he will be your saviour throughout the changing scenes of life.

Read: Ephesians 1:18 “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the trap of setting my hope on earthly things.

MUCH MORE IN MY ABSENCE.

Philippians 2:12
“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling”.

Living in obedience is a whole life affair. Thus, you shouldn’t be obedient at some particular times and be disobedient on some other times.

In Philippians 2:12, the Apostle Paul admonished the believers to remain obedient at all times.
You see, as a Christian you are to obey God’s word irrespective of where you find yourself.

When it comes to obedience, you don’t need to be policed by your pastor or any person.
You must willingly obey the word you have been taught whether your teacher or pastor is present with you or not.

Never become hypocritical when it comes to obedience. Folks who only live in obedience when they know they are being watched by someone never get far in their walk with God. In fact, such folks lose out on God’s best for their life.

Be obedient at all times.

Read: 1 Samuel 15:22 “But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams”

Psalm 119:60 “I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my obedience to your word and authorities will not be with hypocrisy.

KEEP THE FAITH TO THE END.

Ecclesiastes 7:8
“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

Starting the Christian life or being born again is a great thing but until you keep the faith to the end it will profit you nothing.

The Christian life can be compared to a race, so making it to the end of the race is what matters.
Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7 said that, “I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith [firmly guarding the gospel against error].”
You have to understand that, reaching the end of your Christian journey is something God wants from you. You don’t have to start and stop midway.

You see, you must not be a Christian today and give up the faith in some years to come. Neither must you start working in the house of God and stop along the way.

You see, it is not without doubt that troubles, distresses and challenges will come your way, but it is part of the journey. Thus, you must be determined to finish at all cost.

In keeping your faith to the end, you must lay aside any hindrance that may come your way. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”.
Many things slow people down and eventually cause them to exit the Christian faith. For example, some have fallen off and left the faith because of the love of money, immorality, pride, and the like.

Nonetheless, you must be determined to finish your race well. Keep your gaze on the Lord and keep moving forward. Remember that it is in finishing that you obtain a reward (Rev 21:7)
Never draw back in your walk with God. Persevere to finish your race in the Lord

Read: 2Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to keep the faith to the end.

NO PRETENSE IN LOVE.

1John 3:17
“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his heart of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him?”.

The love of God in our hearts must make us respond to the needs of others.

There is no way you can walk in love without expressing it by giving to others in need. Love is a giver. Love looks at the interest of others. 1Corinthians 13:5 says that love does not seek its own. You see, you can’t walk in love and be selfish.

To have something and to withhold it from a brother or sister in need is not love.
You must never close your heart against a brother or sister that is in need.
You see, the blessings of God in your life must also help other people in the body of Christ.

When it is in your power to help someone, do it generously. That is the demonstration of the love of God. Don’t harden your heart when it comes to helping others because of some bad experiences you might had. Let go.
Be a stream that others can benefit from.

Read: John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to go all out and not to pretend when it comes to walking in love.

THE LAZY WILL BE PUT TO FORCE LABOR.

Proverbs 12:24
“The hand of the diligent will rule, But the negligent and lazy will be put to forced labor”

Being diligent or hardworking will put you ahead in life. It will make you have charge over the affairs of your life to a great extent.

Diligence or being hardworking must be your principle if you want to succeed in life. You see, until you are hardworking you can’t deliver on your God- given mandate.

It will take being diligent to work and produce the right or required results. Thus, being diligent makes you productive in every area of your life. No one, can have succees in any venture with laziness, which is the opposite of being diligent.

Irrespective of how tough your schedules may be in life, be diligent or be hardworking. It will enable you work to meet deadlines, it will make you prosper, and it will cause you to excel in every endeavor.

Never choose the path of laziness. It never makes a champion out of anyone. As a matter of fact, laziness will cause you to find wrong ways to achieve things in life since it “seems” to offer an easy path to success.

Be diligent.
Be serious.
Be hardworking.
Be industrious.
Be committed.

Read: Proverbs 22:29 “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always be diligent in whatever I find myself doing.
