FOLLOW WITH PATIENCE TO INHERIT THE PROMISE.

Hebrews 6:12
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises”

One key to success or fulfilling your God given purpose is in following someone who has preceded you and is graced, anointed, of a positive character and has the ability alongside the willingness to also help you make it. Simple as you will think of it or see it, it has been the method that has brought many people to the lime light in life.

The call of the disciples who will later become apostles of the Lord was all because of following Jesus. See Matthew 4:19 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”

The Bible also reveals how by the art of following, Elisha, Ruth, Joshua, Lot, Paul, Timothy, Titus etc. made it in their days.

You see, following someone to be imparted characterwise, trained, guided, coached, mentored, is not an easy thing. It requires hardwork. That is why the bible says don’t be slothful.

It is undeniable that the art of following will cost you but pay off greatly. When it comes to following the people God brings your way to help you, you need to make time to follow, you need to be consistent, you need to sacrifice, you need to show great respect to them, you need to be zealous about their input into your life, and you need to live out what they impart.

Never take lightly this “art of following”.
Remember that, the less is always blessed by the greater. Thus, humble yourself enough and follow.

Read:1 Thessalonians 1:6 “And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost” .

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to follow with patience to obtain the promise.

THE DEPENDABLE GOD.

Psalm 34:4-5
“I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed”

Looking up to the Lord in all that you go through is the sure way to have breakthroughs in life.
When you learn to look up to the Lord, you always stay connected to him.

David, the man anointed by the Lord tells in Psalm 34:4 how the Lord answered his prayer in times of distress when he was running away from the King Saul who had wanted to kill him.

Not only that, but by looking up to the Lord through earnest prayer, his fears dissipated and his hope was reinforced.

In Psalm 34:5, the Bible says “those who look to him (God) are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” That’s to say that, when you look up to God, you will be far from shame no matter what befalls you.

Never draw back in the face of challenges, rather get deeper in your walk with God, look up to him as you pray and meditate on his word.

Read: Daniel 11:32 “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: “but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to look up to you even in difficult times.

YOU MUST LIVE PURE.

1 John 3:3
“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” .

The Christian life is a call to purity. It is nothing but living a sanctified, separated and devoted life to the Lord.

Thus, keeping yourself pure is necessary for the fellowship you have with the Lord.
Keeping yourself pure demands absolute cleanliness and abstinence from anyone and anything that corrupts your life either spirit, soul or body.

2 Corinthians 7:1 says “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God”. Your purity has a way to unlock God’s favour and blessings unto your life.
Remember that, God will always keep his promises to you but you must also stay pure to access them.

Never let down your “purity” for anything that the world may want to offer.
Be bold and flee from all appearances of evil. Desire to stay pure and eagerly pursue it against all odds.

Read: Matthew 5:8 ‘Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God’

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to live a pure life in this sin doomed world.

NEVER SPEAK EVIL OF ANY MAN.

1 Peter 3:10
“For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech”.

As Christians, God expects that we speak ill of no man. James 3:2 tells us that we have control over our body once we have control over our speech.

Thus one virtue you must practice in life when it comes to what you say, is “NEVER SPEAK EVIL OF ANY MAN”.
Titus 3:2 makes this truth more clearer. “Speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men”.

To speak evil of no man demands that don’t utter or make defamatory statements injurious to the reputation or well-being of other persons. It means that, you must not practice slander, gossip, backbiting or give false accusations about people.

You see, words are such that, any word carelessly spoken cannot be taken. Thus any bad information you pass out about someone even in a passive way can go a long away to destroy the person or ruin their future.
Today there are many people hurting and suffering because of something that someone said about them. Not only that, many meaningful relationships have being crushed because of slander.

Proverbs 16:28 says “A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends. How many times have people become alienated because of slander other people spread about them?

From today, be a master of speaking. Let no evil proceed of your mouth about someone.

Read: Psalms 101:5 “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to control my tongue from speaking of people.

LOVE, THE CATALYST OF FAITH.

Galatians 5:6
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Love drives your faith to work. Love emboldens your faith to produce results. Without love your faith will be inoperative.

You see, your faith will only work when your love is intact. Love is a faith propellant. Your faith can’t give you any spectacular results when you are out of love.

If you want to master faith, master love. They are supposed to work together.
This is the more reason why some Christians never go far in the exercise of their faith. You have and must walk in love to go far in your faith.

People who don’t walk in love are limited. So you see, whether faith for healing, faith for finances, and faith for overcoming the storms of life, it all comes from love. Trying to exercise faith without love is like trying to drive a car without an engine. It can’t get you anywhere irrespective of how hard you try.

Read: Galatians 5:13 “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love”

Prayer: Lord, i pray for grace to walk in love which causes my faith to work.

GOD WILL JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD.

1 Peter 4:5
“But they will have to give account to him (God) who is ready to judge the living and the dead”

Judgement is one important subject matter that the Christian must not take for granted.
When all is said and done, the Christian will have to give an account of his life pertaining to what was done and what was not done to the Lord.

The book of Hebrews describes the teaching of judgement as a primary or an elementary subject (Hebrews 6:1-2). That’s to mean that, every Christian must have an understanding of the matter.

You see, our relationship with God does not offer us blessings and good things. It also places on us some divine obligations for which we must give an account.

As a Christian, God expects you to make good use of his grace and investment into your life. He expects you to live in accordance with his word. These standards become the basis for accountability, and the judgement that will be given.

Never lose sight of this truth of judgement. Each of us will one day be held accountable for what we did, how we lived, how we walked with the Lord and our fellow Christians.

Read: Romans 14:12 “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that as you give me opportunity for each day may i not lose sight of the judgement I am to face one day.

NO MORE BURDEN.

1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” You see cares are not to be carried but casted.

Life is full of cares and burdens. We face difficulties, testings and sometimes persecution and suffering. All these cause stress. But God never intended man to live under such stress. That is why the Bible admonishes us to cast our care unto the Lord.

Casting your cares means “to throw or roll upon your worries”. God wants you to roll your burdens upon Him. He wants us to carry anything that makes us anxious to Him.

Interestingly, many people today so often nurse their cares. They burden themselves with the load that the Lord wants to handle for them. For instance some people carry the guilt of sin, fear, sense of unworthiness, etc.

A story was told about a woman who was carrying a load on the head by a roadside. But after been picked up by a generous passer by, the woman still kept her load on her head whiles sitting in the truck. This scene surprised the driver, who later told the woman that “there is space for you and your load” so drop the load and be at ease.

Today, we can say the same thing about some Christians who still carry the load that Christ can bear for them.
Remember that, there is space for you and every issue you have when we come to Jesus.

Learn to cast all your cares unto the Lord. Refuse to pamper and nurse your worries.

Let go the guilt of sin; Let go your worries; Let go your fears; Let go your sense of unworthiness, because God cares for you. God is in charge, there is no cause for alarm. Hallelujah!

Read: Psalm 55:22, “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your finished work on the cross that lifted every burden of my shoulders.

FAITHFULNESS, THE KEY TO YOUR NEXT LEVEL.

1 Corinthians 4:2
“says “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”.

Faithfulness is a great quality every Christian must strive towards. It is one quality that makes you fruitful in life and ministry.
In fact, faithfulness is a requirement for everyone in ministry.

Faithfulness qualifies you for promotion in the ministry. The Bible encourages us to emulate the faithfulness of Jesus when he went about his earthly ministry.
Hebrews 3:1-2 says
” Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him”, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.”.
You see, without faithfulness God will have little to do with you.

You don’t have to be “gifted” to excel in life and ministry. You must also be faithful. The two must work together.

Anytime people prove themselves to be faithful, it means that you can trust them to do a good work. Faithful people never abandon their assignment because of a challenge. They move on till they finish their mission.

Don’t only be available, be reliable. That is what faithfulness is basically about.

Read: Hebrews 3:1-2
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will at all times prove myself faithful.

CAST OUT DEMONS.

Mark 16:17
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.”

Demons are wicked, hateful, and destructive spirits. These spirits are personalities just like human beings, but they don’t have bodies to dwell in. This is why demons love to possess humans or things so that they can find expression and manifest.

One truth on this subject is that, because they are spirits, demons are everywhere. Demons do the bidding of Satan, which is to steal, kill, and destroy.

The Bible is full of accounts of people who were possessed by demons, oppressed by demons, suppressed by demons, and influenced by demons. Because of their evil nature and mission, demons are often referred to as unclean spirits. In Mark 1:23-24: “And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, saying, let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.” We see how Jesus cast out a demon in a man in the synagogue when it cried out against Jesus to leave them alone.

In Mark 5:1-2, we see the narrative of a man from the Gadarenes who had been possessed by demons and had lost his sanity until Jesus cast out the spirit.

In dealing with demons, Jesus in Matthew 10:1 called unto Him His twelve disciples, and He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and disease. These passages reveal the reality of the experience and activities of demons.

You see, until you cast out demons, they will execute their evil agenda against their victims. As Christians, we need to rise up to the call and deal with these evil spirits. Not only that, but we must also avoid opening any avenue for them through sin to operate around us or influence our lives.

Instead of being a victim to these evil spirits, stand your ground in the Word. Be prayerful, be full of the Word, learn to cultivate the presence of God, and use the name of Jesus always. This will embolden your spirit to deal with or cast out demons.

Read: Acts 8:5-8 — “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.”

Prayer: Today I receive divine enablement to cast out all demons, in Jesus’ mighty name.
