FORGET NOT THE LORD THY GOD.

Deuteronomy 8:10-11
“When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day”

It is a display of great wisdom and gratitude when you don’t forget God as you make giant strides in life.

Most often than not, when God meet your needs and elevates you in life, there is the tendency to forget him. Thus, it is very important for you to safeguard your heart against being forgetful.

In other words, you must always keep it at heart or recall how God has fulfilled his word in your life and forever remain grateful.

You see, it is a known fact that most people are eager and quick to receive from the Lord, but easily forget all of his goodness. In fact, they refuse to continually appreciate and celebrate the goodness of God that made them who they are.

In Psalms103, David admonishes us to praise the Lord and remain unforgetful. He said “bless the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits”.

As a Christian, when you make any earthly endeavour that takes away your obedience to God, it shows that you have forgotten the Lord. Always recall the Lord’s goodness in your life.

Psalm 50:22 “Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace not to forget you when I have received lots of earthly blessings.

FOLLOWERS.

Hebrews 6:12
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises”

One key to success or fulfilling your God given purpose is in following someone who has preceded you and is graced, anointed, of a positive character and has the ability alongside the willingness to also help you make it.
Simple as you will think of it or see it, it has been the method that has brought many people to the lime light in life.

The call of the disciples who will later become apostles of the Lord was all because of following Jesus.
See Matthew 4:19 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”

The Bible also reveals how by the art of following, Elisha, Ruth, Joshua, Lot, Paul, Timothy, Titus etc. made it in their days.

You see, following someone to be imparted characterwise, trained, guided, coached, mentored, is not an easy thing. It requires hardwork. That is why the bible says don’t be slothful.

It is undeniable that the art of following will cost you but pay off greatly. When it comes to following the people God brings your way to help you, you need to make time to follow, you need to be consistent, you need to sacrifice, you need to show great respect to them, you need to be zealous about their input into your life, and you need to live out what they impart.

Never take lightly this “art of following”.
Remember that, the less is always blessed by the greater. Thus, humble yourself enough and follow.

Read:1 Thessalonians 1:6 “And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost” .

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to follow through with wise people who have results and have impact.

HOPE BEYOND THIS LIFE.

1 Corinthians 15:19
“If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied”

The hope of the believer is not only in this life. Our hope goes beyond the shores of this life.

You see, life on earth is transient. Thus, if our hope in Christ is for this earthly life, then the least said of it the better.
But that’s not the case. We have God’s abiding presence with us now and also in the world to come.

In teaching the Church in Corinth, the Apostle Paul said that if we do away with our earthly body, we have a new body from the Lord which is eternal.
2 Corinthians 5:1 says “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”

No wonder, life on earth is meaningless without Christ. Not only that, when you live denying the Lord today, you will be left to face the horrors in the world to come.
You see, Jesus is the answer for your life today, tomorrow and forever.

Never be deceived to put your trust in earthly things and the fleeting fantasies of life. Believe in the Lord now and he will be your saviour throughout the changing scenes of life.

Read: Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my hope will be built not only for earthly things but beyond this life.

FAITH WHICH WORKS BY LOVE.

Galatians 5:6
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”

Love drives your faith to work. Love emboldens your faith to produce results. Without love your faith will be inoperative.

You see, your faith will only work when your love is intact. Love is a faith propellant. Your faith can’t give you any spectacular results when you are out of love.

If you want to master faith, master love. They are supposed to work together.
This is the more reason why some Christians never go far in the exercise of their faith. You have and must walk in love to go far in your faith.

People who don’t walk in love are limited. So you see, whether faith for healing, faith for finances, and faith for overcoming the storms of life, it all comes from love. Trying to exercise faith without love is like trying to drive a car without an engine. It can’t get you anywhere irrespective of how hard you try.

Read: Romans 5:5
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always be rich in love to keep my faith activated.

BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

1 Timothy 6:6
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Being content with what you have is one priceless way of life every Christian must constantly adapt.
It takes contentment to live a worry free life. Not only that,it makes you set your heart right and enables you go through the process to make it in life without being anxious or depressed.

To be content is to be happy, satisfied, pleased or gratified. It signifies a state of fulfilment and enactment. Hence when you are content with what you have, you become satisfied and live with a sense of fulfilment.

Hebrews 13:5-6 tells us that, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

You see, being content is not simply about settling for what we have, but also trusting in what God has said. And God has said “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”. When you live with total trust in God, you are not moved by life’s circumstances or situations.

Anytime you are not content, covetousness or greed finds a breeding grounds in your life. Thus being content does not just make you a happy person, but it also secures you from all the dangers that comes with greediness.

When you live with covetousness, you will never be grateful to God. This cuts additional provisions of God from your life. On the subject of covetousness, the Bible teaches that some people erred from the faith and gave themselves many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

Always take shelter in God’s word, trusting that he is able to do what he says.

Read: Proverbs 16:8 “Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will be content with what ever I have and never gather with ungodliness.

HE WHO HAS PROMISED IS FAITHFUL.

Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

God’s faithfulness to his word makes his promises to us “sure and steadfast”. Meaning that, if you are to hold on to the faith, what he has said or the promises you see in his word will be fulfilled in your life.

You see, promises by themselves means nothing until the one making them is faithful.
For instance, there are people who promise and never deliver on their promises or alter their promises when faced with unanticipated challenges.
But that is not so with God. God is faithful.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 says “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil”. The Bible again says “faithful is he that calleth you and will also do it”.

God’s promises are sure. God will always deliver on his promise to you. Yours is to hold fast to the confession of the word. You must never waiver when you see things happening contrary to what the word says about you. Just hold on. Still live by the word. Still talk the word and never waiver.

God has said it and he will do it. His word concerning every area of your life will see daylight then like the people of old, your mouth will be filled will laughter because of the wonderful things the Lord has done.

Read: Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it ? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Prayer: Lord, I pray that in waiting for the manifestation of your promises for my life I will not waiver or lose faith for you are a faithful God.

WORDS THAT BUILD UP.

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Words are powerful. They can impart life or death. They can build or collapse things. Therefore the end results that you want to see must be the guiding rule for the words that you say.
The Bible admonishes us to speak only good and not corrupt words. It further teaches that our words must build up, encourage and edify others.
Meaning that anyone that hears the words you say should be bless by it.

You must consciously cultivate the habit of speaking well, that is, use words that will only build people, encourage people and also impart grace.

Many people are bowed down under heavy emotional loads and are weary of life’s challenges. How eager they are to hear a word of encouragement (1Thessalonians 5:11)!
That is why the Lord wants you to help others through the words you release.

In Proverbs, much is written about the value of encouraging words (Proverbs 16:24). The same book also teaches that pleasant words does not only taste sweet, but their use can lift us up to high places.

Remember that we are called to lift up the weary, edify the saints and evangelize the lost—and these are all through words.

Read: Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always speak words that will edify, exhort and bring life to people.

ROOTED, BUILT AND ESTABLISHED.

Colossians 2:7-8
“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ”.

For you to thrive as a Christian, you must go through these faces in your walk with God- being rooted, being built and being established.

The root of every thing points to its source. It also offers support and supply of required nutrients for growth. So the bible enjoining Christians to be rooted means that we must have a firm grip to our source which is Christ to derive daily support and life.
Anyone who is rooted in Christ has a deep persuasion or conviction in the things of the Lord. Not only that, they show stability. They don’t stay in the faith today and move out the next day.

The next factor that will also cause you to thrive as a Christian is when you are built up. This shows growth. Meaning that, as a Christian, you have to allow the life from the Lord and his message gain control over you. This level in the faith also points to the fact that you have a transformed life. Your union with Christ is easily noticed, just as it is simple to notice a type of tree than to see the root.

Finally, getting established in the faith, reveals maturity. At this level, you are able to maintain your relationship with the Lord and also be a blessing to others. Being established also talks about your influence. God’s glory on your life, at this stage is so evident that it will bring others into the Christendom.

Let it be a desire and a decision to climb up in your walk with God. It will safeguard you against backsliding and also make you a blessing to others.

Read: 2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to go through this growth process in the faith to your glory. Amen

BORN TO DO GOOD.

Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

As a Christian, you are to do good. That’s to say that, your actions should be superior, first-class, up to the mark, and never lacking in virtues of the Christian faith.

Galatians 6:10 says “as we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith “.
Doing good to people is not a suggestion or a man made philosophy. It is God’s instruction to his children- the believers.

Most often than not, we miss it, when it comes to doing good because we consider what people do to us to determine whether they deserve good from us or not. Doing good to people is not dependent on them. It is between you and God. It is about obeying God and not your feelings or personal inclinations.

Yes, some may take your good for granted, others too may let you down, but your “mandate” still remains. Do good.
As Christians we must learn and follow the example of Jesus who did good everywhere he went. We must also do good everywhere and any time.

Never limit doing good to the days when you have a better “feeling”. Never limit doing good to some “special persons” only. Never limit doing good to people you know will “pay you back”.

Do good and leave the rest to the Lord.

Read: Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will give me the resources to always stand in the capacity to do good.
