TAKE HEART!

John 16:33
“In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world”.

In this end times, one admonishment from God’s word to believers is for us to take heart. To take heart means to have more courage, determination or hope.

You see, inasmuch as the end times will be characterised by difficulties, God want you to take heart. He wants you to be hopeful as you journey through life.

That’s to say that in the midst of all this uncertainties and troubles that the end times bring, you must never be moved by it or lose your joy.

As a Christian you have perfect peace from God (Isaiah 26:3) that the “fires” of life cannot consume you, neither can the “waters” of life sweep over you.

Rather, in the face of all the difficulties keep faith alive. Remain focused in your walk with God and never let your heart be troubled in anything.

Read: Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to keep trusting your word for my life when faced with difficulties.

RUN YOUR RACE.

Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

Every Christian has a race to run. It is an appointed course that God gives to us to complete. The race tells God’s plan and purpose for our lives that we must fulfill.

Our opening text, reveals how we can fulfill God’s purpose by running the race before us.

First, the Bible admonishes that we strip off and throw aside every encumbrance or unnecessary weight. In other words, we must run light or without any load on us.

The weight may come from cares and concerns we put on ourselves which we really don’t need. These weights may not necessarily be sinful, but they are distractions that keep us from progressing. What is your weight?

Another important thing to consider as you go about running the race God has set for you is any sin that easily comes your way. Depending on who you are, what you do, and your environment and the kind of sinful temptations that may come your way.

As a Christian, you must know the things that wants to trip you off and resist them. Lay them aside completely. Never claim they are your personal weaknesses and trivialise their implications on your life and destiny.

Run your race well. It comes with a prize.

Read: Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to run the race set before me. Amen

BE SLOW TO ANGER!

Proverbs 14:29
“He who is slow to anger has great understanding [and profits from his self-control], But he who is quick-tempered exposes and exalts his foolishness [for all to see]”.

It is a sign of great wisdom, understanding and maturity when you don’t easily get angry with people.

Anger or being angry never brings success to anyone. This is because most often than not man’s anger does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:20).

You see, never pride in the fact that you are quick tempered. You are likely not going to change that character to make it reflect who you are in Christ.

Instead of boiling, raging or ranting when people offend you or do things that you don’t like, correct them in love and with patience. Don’t speak arrogantly, or in a disrespectful manner in your attempt to register your dislike for someone’s action.
Whatever the case may be, never give anger the chance in your heart. Let go of it as soon as it comes .

Remember that anger can make you destroy things and heap up for you negative happenings in the future!

Read: Ephesians 4:3 “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that my love nature will always overcome the tendency of anger in me. Amen

FAITH WINS.

Hebrews 11:33
“who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions”

One outstanding characteristics of faith is that, it wins anytime it is engaged. Faith never fails to deliver results for and in the life of the believer.

Our opening text reveals the exploits of faith. It tells what believers can do when they put their faith to work.

You see, kingdoms, irrespective of their military strength can be defeated through faith. Also, by faith, justice or fairness can be achieved. Not only that, promises are turned into realities by faith. This is why your faith is paramount.

1 John 5:4 says “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith”.
It takes your faith to win in life. Faith believes God’s word and acts on it against any contrary evidence.

Never for one moment fail to exercise your faith in life. When you meet battles, use your faith. When people and systems want to deny you justice use your faith. When you receive any promise from the Lord, use your faith.

Never be intimidated by any awkward happenings in life. Engage your faith and you will win.

Read: Hebrews 11:1-2 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the gift of faith. I pray for grace to exercise my faith daily in everything I do. Amen

YOUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Most often than not, thoughts of the future comes with great uncertainty and fear for many people. For some people not knowing what will become of the future when it comes to their life in the area of their career, finance, marriage, ministry leaves them in a pool of despair.

Nonetheless, contrary to all these feelings and anxieties, God’s word boldly says, there’s hope for you, and that a great future awaits you (Jeremiah 29:11).

Our opening scripture, was a prophetic word that God gave to the people of Israel after they had been taken into captivity.
You see, in the midst of what one will call a hopeless situation, or a bad happenings that is likely to rob one of a great future or destiny, God assured them of his plans for their future.

What are you faced with today? Is life becoming unbearable for you ? Are you at a dead -end not knowing what will become of your life? Cheer up. God got your back.

God’s plans for your life will bring you a remarkable hope and a future. Never give up or cast away your confidence; it holds a great reward (Hebrews 10:35). Doors will open for you. God’s blessings will materialise in your career, finances, marriage, ministry and in every area of your life.

Don’t draw back! Serve the Lord and He will perfect all that concerns you.

Read: Jeremiah 32:26-27 “Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that my future is secured and bright in you. Amen!

DONT GET IT AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR SOUL.

Mark 8:3
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

It is always important to count the cost associated with what ever you want to get in life. This is because the cost associated with somethings in life is very much on the high side.

Jesus taught on the cost that comes with trying to gain the whole world without considering God. He made it clear that you can get the world (riches, wealth, honour, power, etc), but without God, this will be at the expense of your soul. In other words, losing your soul to hell is the price you will pay for pursuing these personal pressures of life.

This is to tell you that, you don’t have to get somethings at all cost. Although God has promised us glorious things. They are embedded in times and seasons.

Don’t for the sake of money, throw away your conscience and Christian values. That’s too much price to pay for something that has no eternal value.

Remember, don’t go for anything at all cost, if it will shipwreck your faith in God or hurt your Christian values.

Read: Proverbs 16:8 “Better is a little with righteousness Than great income [gained] with injustice”

Prayer: Lord, I pray that as I pursue things in life may it never be at the expense of my soul.

DONT DRAW BACK.

Hebrews 10:38-39
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul”.

Our walk with God is sometimes not a smooth sail from the cross to the glory land which is heaven.

The journey can sometimes be tough, challenging and even be full of persecutions. There may be times when such occurrences and other things can even dry up your love and desire for the things of God. But, God’s word to you is “DON’T DRAW BACK”. In other words, hold on.

You see, you may sometimes not feel anything spiritual or even have the edge to carry on your divine assignment, but still keep moving. That’s when you engage your faith to the fullest. You may not feel, you may not see, neither will you hear but remember that the greater one is on your inside. He will come through for you.

Refuse to draw back. Press on to the upward way. Don’t let sin and unbelief take over your life.

Study: 2 Timothy 1:12 “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to hold and press on in the faith and calling.

GO AND PREACH THE GOSPEL

Mark 16:15,20 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

God has called every believer to reach out to the world with the gospel or the good news. This is a divine task that you must endeavour to undertake irrespective of your status in life.

Preaching the gospel to the unsaved is not restricted to pastors or men of God. Rather, it is a mandate that God has given to all believers. Thus, no matter your commitments in life, you must prioritise God’s assignment to go preach the gospel.

You see, just like any other instruction in the word of God, you must also take the instruction to preach to others serious. You must make time for it. You must commit your resources to it and you must make it your heart’s desire.

People who give themselves to this noble task of preaching the gospel to the unsaved gets into partnership with God. The Bible teaches that, as the disciples went to preach, the Lord worked with them (Mark 16:20).

Don’t be left out in this call to preach salvation to the unsaved in the world.

Read: Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and boldness to preach the gospel of salvation to others. Amen.

SACRIFICE, THE WAY OF LOVE.

Ephesians 5:2
“and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God”.

As Christians, Christ is our standard in all things. We are to emulate his example as we go about our endeavors.

In opening text, the Bible enjoins us to walk in life just as Jesus Christ did. That’s to mean, as a Christian you must follow Jesus’s example of love.

Following the example of Jesus when it comes to love means that we must learn to sacrifice for people. Not only that but the sacrifice must promote the well-being of others spirit, soul and body.

Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. You see, Christ went all out for us, when we didn’t deserve it. He demonstrated the highest form of selflessness to help us get back on course.

John 15:13 says “…greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”. When it is always about you, your comfort and what you want for personal glory you can’t walk in the example of Christ’s love.

Be ready to sacrifice for others for a worthy course, be ready to let the interest of others matter more than your own. This is the hallmark of Jesus’s love.

Read: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to follow Christ’s example of love. Amen
