EXERCISE PATIENCE.

Hebrews 10:36
“For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye may receive the promise”.

Sometimes you need to exercise patience to receive from the Lord.
Thus, we cannot associate patience with lack of faith or weakness.

You see, being patient tells that, you truly have faith in the Lord who makes all things beautiful in its time. That’s why folks who exercise patience in the Lord are tolerant and never anxious or troubled in the face of adversities.

The Bible enjoins us not to be lazy but to follow the example of those who had faith and were patient until God kept his promise to them (Hebrews 6:12). Meaning that as a Christian your patience is key to receiving God’s best.

Don’t consider the workings of God in your life as delays. Rather deploy the virtue of patience to hold on for the best.

You see, you can miss God’s best for your life when you are impatient in life. Sometimes, your faith will be tested. But patience is the virtue that can make you pass God’s test. There is nothing wrong when in the exercise of your faith you have to wait for weeks, months or even years. The truth is that you will get God’s best in the end.

God never fails! Be patient. Things shall work for your good.

Read: Hebrews 10:36 “ You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be patient as you works things for my good.

BUILDING SPIRITUAL CAPACITY, PRAYER.

Jude 1:20
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”

There are various ways to pray and there are different kinds of prayer. These are all unique and they have the kind of results they produce.

To say that “prayer is prayer” and not pay attention to biblical truth on the subject will deprive you of some great benefits.
As Christians, one way we can pray is by praying in the spirit. Praying in the spirit means that you yield to the Holy Spirit to pray in sync with what He wills and directs you. This prayer does not involve your mind or your personal will.

When you pray in the spirit you don’t pray with your own understanding.
In 1 Corinthians 14:14, the bible makes us understand that, when you pray in tongues, your spirit prays.

Thus, praying in tongues makes you pray in the spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:14 says “For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful”.

You see, anytime you pray in the spirit, you are built up in the faith. The amplified bible explains that when you pray in the spirit “you rise like an edifice higher and higher”.
No wonder that bible admonishes us to pray in the spirit on all occasions. “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…” (Ephesians 6:18).

Make a practice of speaking in tongues everyday of your life. As you do that and pray in the spirit, things above your control and knowledge will fall in place for your good.

Read: Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always stand in prayer, praying in the Holy Ghost.

PRAY FOR HARVEST OF SOULS INTO GOD’S KINGDOM

Ezekiel 33:11
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

It is the will of God that every sinner comes to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.
God does not want anyone to perish. He desires to have fellowship with everyone. This is the very reason for which Jesus came. He came to seek and to save that which was lost.

As a Christian, God wants you to partner this worthy course. God wants you to stand in and pray for other folks who are not saved.

The Bible says, “but if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost, in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not”.

Today, sinners and unbelievers abound because the god of this world (Satan) has blinded their eyes.

Make it a point to join the this heavenly agenda of winning the hearts of many to Christ by standing in prayer for the lost.

Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and heart to stand in prayer for the lost.

GOD WILL HELP YOU.

Psalm 46:1
“O God our God, a very present help in time of trouble”

God helps his children. He’s a sure support and defence in time of trouble. Learn to call on him for help than to go through life thinking you are helpless.

Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”.

You see, there is grace to help you in whatever situation you may be faced with. Whether it is something about your academic, about your health, something about your career, something about your family, finance or any hardship, there is help for you.

Instead of resorting to wrong sources for help, make God your first point of call. He has a way to orchestrate help for you in this world.

Never leave in fear when God is here to help you.

Read: Isaiah 41:13 “For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for giving me help in time of trouble.

CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.

Philippians 4:8
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Being a Christian comes with some responsibilities. One of such responsibility is in controlling your thoughts. You must take full responsibility for what things you make your mind dwell or ponder on.

Thoughts are ideas or opinion produced by thinking or occurring suddenly in the mind. Although not seen, thoughts are powerful. When you allow your mind just to process any information you will be doomed in life.

Proverbs 4:23 from the Common English Version reads “More than anything you guard, protect your mind, for life flows from it.” As a Christian, no one will guard your mind for you. The power has been given to you by God to do so. Thus, God can’t be blamed if you allow your mind to go haywire.

Just know this simple rule that what you keep thinking about dominates your life. Meaning that, you live your thoughts. Your thoughts controls your actions and words. So, whether the result is failure or success, your thoughts contributed to that.
What do you think about? What do you allow your mind to keep processing? Remember that sooner or later it will show in your life.

Let God’s word dominate your thoughts and you will rise above limitations, impossibilities, and any form of failure. Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Read: Romans 8:5-7 “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.”

Pray: Father, I pray for grace to fix my thoughts on things that are worthwhile. Amen

LOCATION MATTERS.

Luke 19:2-4
“And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way”

One important thing that contributes to one’s success in life is location. Where you find yourself at a particular time can bring you before greatness or sink you into oblivion.

Location, was the game changer in the life of Zacchaeus. He acted wisely by positioning himself in the way of greatness. He positioned himself in a place of visibility.

Don’t just walk through life waiting for things to happen. Make some moves towards being significant. For Zacchaeus, he saw his limitation but at the same time saw an opportunity for leverage and thus made a move.

As a Christian position yourself in God’s way. It has the key to unlock your destiny. Position yourself for a career, position yourself for a miracle, position yourself for a financial breakthrough, position yourself for a glorious marriage.

May the Lord give you wisdom to position yourself at the right place and at the right time. Never undermine your location going forward. You can lose or win by that.

Read: Esther 5:1-3
Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus, I declare that I will be at the right place at the right time always.

BE SELF-MOTIVATED

1 Samuel 30:6
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Life can sometimes be very challenging. This can live you in great despair.

Life can sometimes be a lonely walk. You may not get the needed support from people, even your own family to help you out.

Life can also be uncertain. You can be faced with unbudgeted troubles and circumstances. These real happenings calls for self motivation if you want to achieve something in life.

You see, it is motivation that will keep you going in the midst of these happenings. It is internal power that makes you surge forward in the pursuit of your purpose in life despite any challenges.

Inasmuch as encouragement from people is helpful, never build your life on it. Learn to draw your encouragement from the Lord, and his word. Learn to embolden your spirit from your personal prayer life. Above all, master the act of being positive in your thoughts and actions.

Learn from David who in the midst of intense troubles encouraged himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30).

Learn from Joseph who forced his way through rejection and hatred because of his vision in life to finally become successful ( Genesis 37).

Don’t let personal issues TRUNCATE your destiny. Remember that, in all things you are more than a conqueror.

Read: Romans 8:37
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to always build that inner strength to surge through life.

ACT OUT YOUR FAITH

James 2:14
“What
good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”.

Our opening text further reads “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

You can’t have results in life when your actions does not correspond with faith. You must always act out your faith!

Believing something by itself will not get the job done when you don’t live it out.

One of the greatest mistakes many believers make is to confess their faith in the Word of God and at the same time contradict their confession by wrong actions.

For instance “when you say that we are trusting God to provide for your financial needs, but at the same time you are worrying about how your bill will be paid, there is no corresponding action there”.

As a Christian your faith in the word of God must always inform or determine your actions. Irrespective of the storms that you may face, you must always stay put and act on the word. The word of God is reliable and always works.
That is how to make your actions correspond to your faith. When you receive and believe the word on healing, you don’t remain clued to that sick bed any longer. You get up from that bed and start to do that which you could not do before. It may be gradual, but that is a corresponding action to your faith and it will make your healing to fully manifest.
Don’t believe the word and do the opposite of it. It won’t bring you any results.

Read: Mark 9:23 “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to act out my faith at all times. Amen

BE FAIR AND JUST.

James 5:4
“Look! The wages that you have [fraudulently] withheld from the laborers who have mowed your fields are crying out [against you for vengeance]; and the cries of the harvesters have come to the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth”

The above scripture reveals how Christians must deal with everyone they come into contact with in all respect.
As Christians God expects us to be fair and just when dealing with people no matter what.

This is one way by which we can influence the world for the Lord. Whether in school, the corporate world, or in the community, God expects that we exercise great discretion when dealing with people. We must be genuine to the uttermost. We must not take advantage of people or exploit them.

Today, we have some believers who are completely in error when it comes to dealing with other people. They are dishonest, not straight forward, and act wickedly towards others.

Some people have also shut their conscience as though they are not born again.
The fact that the world is now full with fraudsters who cheat, and take advantage of people does not mean we must do same. Be exceptional!

When it is in your power, rightly pay people who work for you, pay back those who you owe when the means is there and don’t exploit people financially because you have power over them. Fairness and justice must be the core principles you must employ to stay uncorrupted in this world.

Read: Isaiah 56:1 “This is what the LORD says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be just and fair in my dealings with people. Amen

SELF-INTEREST OR OTHERS-INTEREST.

Philippians 2:3-4
“Don’t act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves. Don’t be concerned only about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others”.

Our call as Christians is also a call to pursue the interest of others and not only our interest. Until you are able to pursue the interest of others, you are not yet perfected in love. Because anytime you walk in love, you are able to put the needs and interest of others before yours.

You see, acting out of selfish ambition or interest is a big “NO” for the Christian. Others must also count in your quest to making it in life or becoming successful. Don’t bring people down or hurt people because of your desire to succeed.

Don’t use any human being as a means to an end. The Message Bible puts Philippians 2:3-4 as “Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand”.

Remember that, self-interest or selfishness is the nature of the devil. Because all he thought of during his service to the Lord in heaven was himself. See the account of Lucifer’s self-interest. “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:12-14).

Always know that, if you can’t stand for the interest of others or even help others to make it, your pursuit in life is self –driven. Be a blessing to the world and not a pain or a trouble.

Read: 1 Corinthians 10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Prayer: Lord, I ask for grace to henceforth see the interest of others and meet it.
