DEPEND ON GOD’S GRACE

Ephesians 2:8
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”.

The above scripture gives evidence of the fact that we all are beneficiaries of God’s provision of Grace. One truth you have to know is that, it is not enough to be saved by grace, you also need it to be an effective and Christian.

Every born again person is a product of Grace. It is only by grace that we can get access to salvation and walk with God intimately.

You see, it is only by God’s grace that you can work out the virtues and values of the faith. Grace says, “Lord, I can’t do it by myself but I am trusting in your power made available for me to get it done”. This is what makes it possible for one to live in love, contentment and holiness in this corrupt generation.

For instance, to attempt to live out the holiness mandate with human strength and strategies will result in failure. This is one reason for which some people have given up on the holiness mandate. The failed attempts has made them concluded that it’s impossible to live right and holy in this era.

But the truth is, it is only impossible when you depend on your own strength, ethics, principles, do’s and don’t’s and moral codes, etc. without acknowledging the grace of God.

Keep in mind that “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Psalm 127:1).
This is because, we don’t have sufficient strength to resist sin by our own power or tactics. It is our trust and dependence on the grace provided by God, that we can live a sin-free life, thereby showing forth the virtues of the faith we profess.

Depend on God’s grace daily, for it will give you the ability to do the impossible and live a victorious life on daily basis.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will endow me with abundance of grace to go through life successfully.

VALUE HONESTY

Proverbs 12:19
“Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Being honest is a great virtue in this end time especially when truth and sincerity has been neglected.

Honesty requires that a person becomes fair and truthful in all his or her dealings with others.

As Christians our honesty must first be to God and then to people. Being honest demands that you do what is right no matter what people will say or think of you.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 8:21 “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man”.

Honesty also demands that you don’t say one thing and mean something different or do something different.
Today, there are folks who can put people in a fools paradise. In fact, they make you believe a lie till finally you discover the truth when you have already made commitments.

You see, anytime you are not honest you bring unbearable consequences to other people.

A story was told of a young man who made his church and community he lives in believed that, a lady she moves with every now and then was his sister until the ladies pregnancy proved otherwise. It was until this happenings that the young guy disclosed that the girl he was staying with was not the sister as he had earlier said.

You see, you must make it your way of life to be honest in all your dealings with people. You can’t make a fool out of God. In fact, even with human beings after some time your dishonest ways will be discovered.

Remember that honesty pays. Say the truth always. Don’t make someone believe a lie. Mean what you say. Never take advantage of people because they don’t know what you know. Value the principles of honesty.

Prayer: Lord help me to be honest in all that I do.

LOVE AND OBEDIENCE.

John 14:15
“If ye love me, keep my commandments”.

Your obedience to God is a pure demonstration of your love for him. Thus, we can say that when you obey God, you love him.

You see, there is no better way to prove your love for God than obeying his word. John 14:21 says “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

So, you see, Christians who live in disobedience to the word of God have a ” love problem”. 

You can’t say you love God and live against him or go contrary to his word. Your obedience is a test of your love.  You see, you must not be forced to love God, neither must you also be forced to obey him. 

Nonetheless, today’s world is full of believers who until they are coerced or forced, will never do anything right. As a believer you must not operate like that in life. You must voluntarily and at your own volition do what God expects of you without being forced. 

This is love. Jesus said, “if you love me keep my commandments”. 

For instance, your pastor must never put a surveillance device on you before you do the right thing. That shouldn’t be the case. 

Allow the love of God in you to take over. It will make you obedient anytime, anywhere and in whatever situation you may find yourself.

Let love rule and order your steps.

1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done with love”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to manifest my love for you in total obedience to your word. 

THERE’S NO PARTIALITY WITH GOD.

Acts 10:34
“Opening his mouth, Peter said:“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality”

God is not partial. He is a righteous God and deals with all men through his righteous judgement. In fact, God deals with each one of us from the same compassionate heart.

The apostle Peter came to this understanding when he was led by the Holy Spirit to minister to a gentile family.
“Opening his mouth, Peter said: “Most certainly I understand now that God is not one to show partiality [to people as though Gentiles were excluded from God’s blessing]”
(Acts 10:34)

As a Christian know that God is not discriminative or a respecter of persons.

He does not discriminate against who should be blessed or cursed, saved or damned, or who should be lifted up or set down.

When it comes to salvation and attracting God’s blessings, only one principle applies and that is your faith working by love. (Galatians 5:6).

God has given all men the same “playing field”. No one has an advantage over the other. Thus, never allow your background or status to be the reason for not enjoying God’s blessings.

From today, approach God just as you are and he won’t cast you out.
Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Read: Galatians 5:6
“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for always dealing with me from the bowels of mercy.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE.

Hebrews 6:18
“God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged”.

One truth that must settle in your heart as you walk with God is that, he can’t lie to you. This means that, any promise and every word from God to you is not a mistake, neither is it with the intention to deceive you.

Psalm 89:35, the Bible says “Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David”. When it comes to God, he deals with us with no hidden intention to mislead. Meaning that you can depend on God’s word, you can trust his word against all odds or any happenings in your life.

Today, we have many believers who are on the verge of giving up in everything. Hardship, frustration and challenges are making them question their faith in God and also questioning the veracity of the word of the Lord. But never be carried away. God will also fulfill and bring to pass His word when you align yourself to His will for your life. In Jeremiah 1:12 the Lord said He is watching over His word to perform it.

When it comes to believing in what God have said, we have many who are wavering in their faith. Some have become like the Israelites that left Egypt, just as they contemplated of returning we also have some Christians who are thinking of going back to the world. In fact, others are also wondering whether what their pastors are saying is not a “cooked talk”. To some too this “Church thing” does not work because of one or two issues they see around.

But the truth is that God won’t lie to you. What He has said about you will stand sure when you believe and act on it. Don’t quit, don’t go back to the world because God is faithful and will perform.

HOLD ON, God says he CAN’T lie to you. There is hope for your future. Your plans, visions and hope are not dashed. May be you have a financial need, or you want God to intervene in a situation you are facing now. Cheer UP, the faithful one says he can’t lie to you.

Beloved God will DO IT. Remember Abraham, Daniel in the Lion’s den, Joseph in prison, and Jesus on the cross. It was like all hope is gone. But God showed up. He turned their situations around.

Wait on the Lord, never quit, YOUR TIME OF HEAVENLY TOUCH OF SURPRISE and blessing is now. Your testimony will be great. GOD will not lie to you.

Read: Numbers 23:19 “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to still hold on to your promises in the midst of hardship and never resort to the world.

WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD.

Hebrews 12:14
“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord”

Holiness is not a suggestion of a modern-day preacher. Holiness is a life God requires of every Christian. As Christians we have the nature to be holy. It is the seed imparted in to us at salvation. This divine nature helps us to live a consecrated life; that is a life set apart.

As a Christian you must put in effort to let the “holy impartation” you received at salvation manifest. Hebrews 12:14 says “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord”.

You see, we are living in an era that when you don’t put in an effort you will simply not do the right thing. You need “great effort” to make holiness part of your life. Holiness teaches us to be separated from evil or anything that does not bring glory to God.

Hebrews 12:15-16 explains it further by saying “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. 

People who allow bitterness and sexual immorality into their life can’t live out the holiness God expects. Don’t succumb to this “sin compromising” generation. Dare to be Holy. It is possible. It is possible to avoid bitterness, it is possible to respect the things of God, it is possible to avoid sexual immorality.

Don’t use carnal thinking and earthly assumptions to relax or reject God’s call for holiness. 

Read: Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to keep the paths of holiness for my life. In Jesus name, Amen!

WITH ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS.

Ephesians 6:18, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel”

Prayer is a great ministry that brings great blessings. It is a divine relationship developed by communication. But until you become strategic in your prayer life, it will not benefit you. 

You see, being strategic in your prayer life has to do with knowing the kind of prayer to make. That’s why the Bible talks about “all kinds of prayer”. Ephesians 6:18 says “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people”. 

You must know the kind of prayer to make at any point in your life. This truth is easy to grasp and practice but you must search the word. You must maintain an open spirit for the Holy Spirit to guide you. Don’t just go about praying, base it on knowledge. Know that the kind of prayer you employ must be the right kind before you can have results. 

Knowing the kind of prayer to make is what makes you effective in your prayer life. Study God’s word and learn the truths that govern each type of prayer. This is how you can make the most out of your prayer life.

Prayer: Father, I pray for the wisdom to know the kind of prayer to engage in at any season of my life. In Jesus Name.

GOD CARES FOR YOU.

1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.

One of the greatest needs of man is to have a sense of security and care from a superior person or being. As Christians, God has not left us unattended to. He cares for us.

As you journey in your walk with God, know that He cares. In fact, he cares for you. His care for your life goes beyond what you can think of. In Matthew 10:30, the bible says, “the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” 

God is concerned about your needs and the affairs of your life. You don’t have go through life as though you are on your own or God does not care about your life. 

Every aspect of your life matters to God. What you will eat, wear and where you will sleep matters to God. Your school matters to God. Your ministry matters to God. Your marriage matters to God, your career, and your household matters to God. The Bible says if God even provides for the grass of the field won’t He do something much better for us?

Matthew 6:30 says “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” 

You see, you need to trust God with all your needs. Your needs, whether physical or spiritual means a lot to God. That is why the Bible says, he has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). But all you must do is to learn to cast all such cares unto the Lord. 

Don’t worry or be anxious. Anxiety and worry will only rob you of your faith and make you sick. Your problem is not bigger than God. Just cast it. Many claim they have waited on God for many years and are still burdened on every side. The truth of the matter is that God did not assure us in His word that when we murmur at Him, we shall receive whatever we want. The instruction is just simple and straightforward; “cast your burdens”. When you cast your cares on the Lord, you have no concern for anything again.  

No matter what your troubles are, just cast them. By this you will be assured of God’s provision.

Read: 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.

Prayer: Lord, I cast every concern of my life to you. I thank you for your care for my life.

AS HE THINKETH IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE.

Proverbs 23:7a
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

You are what you think. What you think or allow to dominate your mind is what will finally manifest in your life. This is why thinking right is important. 

Thinking right does not just happen. You must be intentional about it before it can happen. When you make it a practice to think right or focus on the right things, you will get great results in life. You see, when your thinking is right, it will affect what you believe, confess, and will ultimately influence how you live. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.”

The importance of “thinking right” can’t be overemphasized. In your quest to think right you must get rid of negative thoughts. Negative thoughts produce negative results, whereas positive thoughts produce positive results. Many great things we see in our world today just emerged in a form of a thought. As little as your thought is, it has the potential to grow to become a mighty thing. This is why you must guard your thinking or keep your thoughts on the right things. 

As a Christian, God’s word has been made available for you to help you think right. You must study the word and let it dominate your thinking. Anything that is not consistent with the word of God is not worth thinking about, no matter who is saying it. 

Don’t just allow anything to get into your heart. Think only on whatever is pure, lovely, admirable, and excellent. No matter the situation, always make your thinking right.

Read: 2 Corinthians 10:5“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”.

Prayer: Father, I pray for the grace to think on right things. I cast down any wrong and negative thoughts in the name of Jesus.

BLESS THE LORD ALWAYS.

Psalm 34:1
“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”.

Acts 16:25-26 also says, “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the whole foundation of the prison was shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Blessing the Lord is an exclamation of gratitude and admiration. When we bless God, we recognize his great richness, strength, and express our gratitude and delight in seeing and experiencing it. Thus, blessing God is giving him our praise. 

As Christians, we must always keep our praise up. We must never relent in praising the Lord. The praise of God must continually be on our lips just as the psalmist says. Therefore, whether all is well or not, you must never quit praising the Lord.

Praising God is an act of faith, and it must be done from your heart or spirit. When you sincerely want to praise God, you must overlook what may be happening to you and around you. It is your praise in these moments that unlocks doors in your life. Not only that, it tells of your true love for God. 

There are many believing folks who only praise or give glory to the Lord when all is well with them. Such folks want to see money in their bank accounts, they want to see their healing manifest, they want to see the physical manifestation of all that they desire before they praise God. This is more like walking with God in the flesh. You don’t need all those physical manifestations before making praise your lifestyle. 

Paul and Silas knew this truth. No wonder during the heat of the moment while in prison they still praised the Lord (Acts 16:25). The prison situation did not make them hold back their praise. That act of faith brought them miracle. Forget about whatever you might be facing now. Keep praising until God shows up.

Prayer: Father, I declare that no matter the situation I find myself in I will always learn to give you praise. I will praise you through the thick and the thin. In Jesus name. Amen!
