POSITION YOURSELF FOR A BLESSING

Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

To be blessed is choice. As a child of God you are already blessed as result of your faith in God. You enjoy the blessings that comes with you being saved.

However, you can only enjoy higher levels of blessings when you position yourself well in your walk with God . By position, I mean, your associations and source of counsel.

Bible says: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (Psalm 1:1)
We see from the above scripture three ways by which you can position yourself to blessed.

The first is, not walking in ungodly counsels. Counsel refers to wisdom, advice, etc. Your source of advice must be from Gods word, anything short of that must not be something to subscribe to.

Another way to position yourself is to avoid the “way of the sinner”. Way refers to mannerism and methods. You must not subscribe to the sinful methods of the world. Sinful methods are only a temporal fix which can’t stand the test of time.

Finally, you must learn to avoid the “seat of the scornful”. This is the company of those who don’t show respect unto the things of God. They mock the church, disregard its practices and criticize pastors. From such association turn away.

You see, you must determine to position yourself well to be blessed in life.

Bible says a man that avoids wrong companies and positions himself well “shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3)

Beloved, position yourself well to prosper.

Read: Psalm 1:3
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to position myself for a blessing.

CONSIDER YOUR WORDS

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The mouth they say is the most creative tool of the human body. Within it lies the Power to either create or destroy life. As a matter of fact, you can talk yourself into life or death, it is YOUR CHOICE.

The Bible says, ” Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21)
You see, your tongue has the power to create your world. It might sound illogical but that’s how God in his infinite wisdom has programmed it. You can decide the direction of life: That choice is in your mouth.

You can talk yourself out from death into life and vice versa.
Never talk yourself to death …

Dont allow life’s events and happenings to keep you down, speak yourself up and live again.
Job said, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person”. (Job 22:29)

In moments of negativities and adversities, what you say to yourself is very crucial. Don’t talk defeat, diseases and poverty. Confess Gods word of victory, healing and prosperity.

Never sink your destiny by talking yourself down in life.

You are blessed!

Read: Job 22:29
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that your spirit will have great influence on my mind and tongue.

ENCOURAGE SOMEONE

Isaiah 41:6
They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.

No one man can be an island. Everyone needs someone in life and that’s why you must be an encourager to someone.

The bible says, “They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage“.
(Isaiah 41:6)

Life has seasons and times. Times of happiness and sorrow, times of plentiful and moments of lack. These seasons affects everyone alike, just at different times.

If you find yourself in a good place today, dont use it as an occasion to trample on others. On the contrary, capitalize on such times to encourage someone who may be down in life today.

Jesus after praying for Apostle Peter, gave him a similar mandate.
“But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”. (Luke 22:32)

You are called to be a strengthener. Always find an opportunity to encourage someone around you, because in this chaotic world with so many depressed people around, the best you can do sometimes is to just say some good words of encouragement to someone.

Dont be self centred in life. Look also unto the things of others as well.

Be an encourager today!

Read: Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and the ability to be an encourager to someone.

ARISE AND SHINE

Isaiah 60:1
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee”.

As a child of God, you are a “star” in your own right. You are called out to shine in this world. To shine means to be bright with reflected light.

You see, although you are called out to shine, you don’t give forth your own light. Rather you must reflect the glory of the Lord.
The truth is that, you can only give out the light which you receive from God.

That is why you must not struggle to shine. As you abide in Christ and he in you, you shine automatically.

You shine out in life by rising above the norms and conventions of today’s world. Remember that, no child of God is an average person. We are standard setters; being an example unto the world. As a Christian, you are the moral compass of your society.

Hence Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy in this regard; “Let no man despise your youth but be an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity”. (1timothy 4:12)
This is why you must not live anyhow. It is an undisputable fact that the world has its eyes on you because you are a Christian.

As you begin to shine, Kings and Princes will all come to your rising because you are a light that cannot be ignored.
Know that, your entire significance as a believer in this dark world is based on your ability to shine out God’s Glory.

Read: Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will make meaningful impact with my light every where I get to.

TALK YOUR VISION

Habakkuk 2:2
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

A man’s vision is what drives him in life. It brings to focus what he stands for and aims to achieve through the passage of time. As a matter of fact, your vision will determine the kind of people you attract.

Vision in this context means, plans and dreams of the future.

Anytime you share your vision, you attract helpers to achieve that vision. That is why Bible says …”Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it”. (Habakkuk 2:2)

For your vision to be made a reality, it must be made plain. Write it down, talk about it with others. In so doing you attract others that would run with you in life. They will pave way for you, provide you with all you will need to fulfil the vision.

One reason many people don’t talk about their vision is because of fear. The fear of being attacked spiritually or physically by others as in the case of Joseph. But you see, the truth is that, as long as the vision is from God, no manipulation by man or demons can alter it if you stay true to your vision. Know that God is in charge.

Another reason is, they don’t want to seem foolish or stupid if the vision is not realised. But know this, holding such thought will only build a bridge to failure. Don’t think failure nor talk it. You are of the stock of success and excellence. Be guided by the promise of God’s word that, The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me… (Psalm 138:8)

Keep talking your vision. At the appointed time, it shall speak.

Read: Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that your vision for my life will not die in my hand before it’s time of manifestation.

GIVE THANKS

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Thanks giving is mandatory for every child of God. This is not something that is done at certain times or seasons.

Apostle Paul said, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Your giving of thanks must not be seasonal.

Many Christians have relegated thanksgiving to some specific times: times when God does something extraordinary or when they experience a miracle. This should not be the case in the life of the believer. In everything and at all times should be a thanksgiving time.

The reason many Christians approach this spiritual activity so casually is because they don’t believe that, God at all times and in all things is working for their good.
But the Bible says, “and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. (Romans 8:28)

You must know that God is always working for your good, whether in good times or bad times. In times of struggling and in joy, you must acknowledge God and give Him due thanks.

Another reason is that, many associate the good things God does to mere luck and chances. This is not the will of God. He shares His Glory with no man. As a child of God, you must learn to give God the due praise and thanks in all you do.

From today, let thanksgiving be a part of you.

Read: Psalm 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:

Prayer: Lord, I pray that thanks giving and praise to you will continuously be on my lips.

DON’T THINK LIKE A CHILD

1 Corinthians 14:20
Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

Certain features have characterized how children behave. These include how they talk, how they think and how they even respond to issues. As you get born again, you are likened to a child or babe in God’s kingdom.

However, God expects you to grow from the stage of childhood into maturity. In fact, God wants you to think and act like a matured person in the faith. 1 Corinthians 14:20 says
“Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults”.

You see, you must grow in your thinking. In other words, how you think about the issues in life must be with some maturity. Maturity here denotes, looking at things from God’s perspective or showing great wisdom and understanding in how you think about things.

Apostle Paul said,
“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me”. (1 Corinthians 13:11)
You must not be a child forever. Advance in your spiritual walk, take up responsibilities and stay focused.

Children most often talk anyhow, think anyhow and never take responsibilities for their actions. One truth to also know is that, remaining a child will deny you from enjoying certain blessings or privileges even though they are yours legally.

You see, some legal things becomes vitally yours only at maturity.
Galatians 4:1 says “What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.”

Constantly feed on God’s word, practice it daily, think on it and you will move from childhood into maturity.

Read: 1 Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Prayer: Lord, help me to grow into maturity as I study your word.

THERE IS A TREASURE IN YOU

2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

There is a treasure in every born again Christian. This is a divine deposit that God himself imparts into your recreated human spirit.
That is why Apostle Paul said, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us”.(2 Corinthians 4:7)

You see, no born again fellow is useless. You are not an accident or biological mistake. You are specially made and “furnished” by God.

Irrespective of who you are or your background, born again brings you into a new realm of life. In this new realm, you have divinity as a treasure in you. See what John said :1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”.

The Bible says there is something “greater in you”.
In fact, you carry divinity on your inside. That’s more than any mineral resource on the earth.

With this treasure, you have access to divine wisdom, power, and above all the ability to get things done.

Don’t look down on yourself. Tap into the treasure that is in you and your impact will be felt throughout your generation and beyond.

Read: 1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace and wisdom to tap into and make good use of every treasure you have deposited in me.

Create your Future

2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

You can’t sit, do nothing and expect the future or your tomorrow to be better. That will only be a mirage or a wish because things never happen that way. Great and awesome things comes at a cost. Thus, you must pay the price to be great or to have a great future.

You must know that, the future is always constructed. One truth that must resonate in your heart as a Christian is that, “God has given you the power to do something about your future”.

2 Peter 1:3 says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”.
You have all things. Yours is to deploy and engage them to make your future bright and great.

Always know that, your actions and inactions has a bearing on your future.
Never play a game of chance or toy with your future. Be decisive on what you want to become or achieve in life.

Don’t spend your time on unnecessary things. On the contrary, make time to pray, study God’s word, and have a constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit. These are just some three keys that can help you make your future bright and great.

Read: Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for divine wisdom and strength to construct my glorious future.

WAY MAKER

Isaiah 43:16
Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

When it comes to making a way when there seems to be no way, working out miracles and creating something out of nothing, there’s none other qualified like God.

He has an unchallenged track record of making way where everything looks impossible. As a matter of fact, God is in the business of making the impossible very possible.

On one occasion, he parted the great reed sea for the Israelites to pass through when they were trapped by the Egyptians. Parted asunder the Jordan for the Israelites to again cross into the promised land.(Exodus 14:10-16).

Always remember that, we are not disadvantaged in life as children of God. We have the Greater One living inside of us. We cannot be trapped, defeated and limited by any means.

This is why we must always depend on him. He is the God that makes a way and creates access where none is.

He said in Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert“.

In the face of trials and tribulations, dare to believe God to make a way for you.
God is still in the miracle business, he’s still making ways for people, still raising the dead, healing the sick, giving out promotions, and making paths in the wilderness.

He is the way maker. Dare to trust him.

Read: Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord God ! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for making a way where there seems to be no way in every area of my life.
