The 360 love for God

Deuteronomy 6:5 “
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

When it comes to loving the lord, it must take your all. Your love for God
must be a 360 love, that is, it must be complete or holistic. One aspect of
you can’t love the Lord and other aspects not do same.

You see, man is a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. The bible calls your
spirit your “heart,” or “inner man.” See :1 Peter 3:4 “But let it be the hidden
man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a
meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price”. Your soul is
your mind. It is the centre of your will and emotions, and your body is the
physical tent you live in. 2 Corinthians 5:1 says, “For we know that if the
earthly tent we live in (referring to the body) is destroyed, we have a building
from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”

Thus, a 360 love for God means that, you love the Lord with your spirit. Your
innermost being craves for and loves the Lord. This is what makes a person
willing to spend time with God in prayers and worship.

Loving the Lord with your soul means that, your mind, and thoughts are filled with the love for and of God. By this you set your mind on things above – the Lord. Loving
the Lord with your strength is loving him by the deeds you display in the
body. This is the total love for God.

God does not require anything less of this. He wants your all. Spirit, soul,
and body, you must love the Lord. When you are full of love for the Lord this
way, there is no way you will surrender your life to the devil or anything
contrary to the will of God.

A 360 love for God, will make you go all out for the Lord, in genuine service,
sacrifice, giving and virtuous living.
Don’t love the Lord halfway. Go all out. Blessings

Read: Mark 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;’
this is the first commandment”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray for grace to continually give myself fully to loving
you. Amen

How dwelleth the love of God in you?

1 John 3:17
“But if anyone has this world’s goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of
compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?”

The believer’s life must be characterized by walking in love. That’s how
people can know that we are of God. John 13:35 says “By this shall all men
know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”.

One proof of the love of God in your heart is revealed in your ability to deal
compassionately with people in need by giving to them when you have the
means. Anything short of this is not love!

You see, as human as we are, we may have all the reasons for which we can’t
give to someone in need when we have the means. This can be your
previous experience of being abused, or you can also say that the need of
someone is not part of your budget as at the time of the request. However,
none of these reasons concerns God. Your obligation is to demonstrate the
love of God in your heart.

Instead of walking in love in this dispensation, most believers have mixed
God’s word on the subject with logic and their own coined philosophies.
But you can’t say you are sincere to the Lord and his word, when your love
life – that is, showing compassion to people in need is questionable.

Do you have God’s love in your heart? Then show compassion to the
brothers and sisters in need around you. Look beyond their mistakes, sins,
ungratefulness, tribe, and even their belief. That’s what makes you a breed
of God.

Help people! Be the Jesus in their lives. “Be children of your Father in
heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on
the righteous and the unrighteous” (Mathew 5:45).

Who did you deny help? Who did you shut your heart of compassion
against? Who did you write off? Go back and show love – by meeting that
need in their lives. You can’t do everything for them, but do your best for
them, just as God did for you.

Read: 1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and
whoever loves has been born of God and knows God”

Prayer: Lord I pray that your love in my heart will lead me to show
compassion towards others. Amen

Those who love are born again

1 John 4:7
“Beloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience]”

Folks who are born again, I mean Christians walk in love. You can’t be a Christian and not have the capacity to walk in love. It is part of your nature because you are born again, so all you must do is to live it out or manifest it.

The new nature you have as a Christian makes you walk in love by seeking the best for people. You cannot love without seeking the best for others. God’s action of love towards humanity was that he gave us his best from creation to man’s fall and his subsequent restoration.

The Garden of Eden was God’s gift to man to make man live a fulfilled life. Genesis 2:8 says, “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed”. Again, after the man sinned and separated from God, Christ was given to save us and make us the best. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

When you love, it is proof that you are born again. Give no excuses for not walking in love as a Christian. Love and seek the interest of others.

Read: 1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God”.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the love of God in my heart. I pray for grace to continually manifest it.

What is love?

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8,13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

It is important to consider what the Bible means by love. Most people have looked at it from an emotional perspective. But that’s far from the truth. Although one may express some form of emotion in displaying or walking in love, love by itself can’t be defined as an emotion.

God’s word reveals that love is the nature of God, and this nature is imparted to us when we become born again (Romans 5:5, 1John 4:7-8) Nonetheless, having the nature is not walking in love, until we engage it in our daily walk both to God and to humanity.

Love from God’s word has been described with some other virtues or qualities. The bible says love is patient, love is kind, love keeps no record of wrongs, love protects, love trusts, love hopes, and love preserves. It again tells what love does not do. It says love does not envy, love does not boast, love is not proud, love does not dishonour people, love is not self-seeking, love is not easily angered, and love does not delight in evil.

Thus, to walk in love means that your actions and inactions must be within these prescriptions from God’s word. Never limit love to feelings. It will cause you not to walk in the God-kind of love.

Love is always about God and people. Love stands for the course of righteousness and brings out the best in people. Thus, love is not destructive.
Does what you call love fit into this scope? Then think about it again.

Read:
Romans 13:10 “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law”

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to walk in the Godkind of love. Amen

Be determined in life

Luke 9:62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Determination is key in the school of success. This is because the success road can be a tough one with many obstacles, however it takes great determination to arrive at your destination despite the obstacles.

To be determined is to make firm decisions and be resolved not to change them. It also means possessing a singleness of mind.
Hence determined people are resolute and not given to change irrespective of challenges.

Being determined demands that, you set specific but realistic goals and run with them. You must decide exactly what you want and pursue it
One truth you must know is that when you decide the “what” you want, the “how to do it” will emerge also.

When it comes to determination, Jesus remains our classic example.
He pursued his purpose and goal against all odds. Pain, humiliation, criticism, and even death could not derail him from achieving his goal and purpose.

Today, there are many “hit and run” Christians. These people abandon their goals and dreams at the slightest hint of opposition and trouble. But you see, you must be willing to suffer for what you believe in and move on with your purpose. This is what determination is all about.

Dare to be different! Be determined to serve God irrespective of the challenges and be determined to pursue your God given purpose in life.

Read: Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to be determined in life to be successful amidst the challenges I may encounter. Amen

Sacrifice is mandatory not optional

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The foundation of Christianity is built on sacrifice. God made the ultimate sacrifice by giving us his only son that we might be saved through his death (John 3:16). This is why you can’t live the Christian life and leave out sacrifice.

The Bible reveals to us that we are not merely saved, but also transformed and given a ministry as Priests. In other words, we are God’s representatives here on earth.
“And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God“.(1 Peter 2:5)

It is also important to note that the duty of the priest is to offer up spiritual sacrifices. This is why you must not take sacrifice out of your service to God. As a matter of fact, your service to God is incomplete without a sacrifice.

For instance, your repentance is a sacrifice. So also is the lifting up of your hands to worship, your offerings and tithes, your body consecrated unto God in righteousness as well as giving to Men of God.

Nonetheless, the ultimate sacrifice God demands from you is to dedicate your entire life to him.

Today, many are not living a life of sacrifice because of “overstretched grace”. They use grace as a ticket to overlook and avoid sacrificing as God demands. But remember that, even grace is a product of sacrifice.

Learn to sacrifice towards the things of God. Give your time, energy, money and possessions in your service as priests.

Read: Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to sacrifice what I have towards the things of God. Amen

Living out the Gospel

Romans 14:17
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”.

The Gospel as we have received is not just to be believed upon but also to be lived out. The gospel brings to bare the finished work of Christ Jesus to the world. It is by this same gospel that we believe upon to be saved.

But you see, the gospel doesn’t just usher us into the kingdom of God, it must also be our way of life and behavior.

Apostle Paul said, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”. (Romans 14:17)
Thus, we must produce fruits of righteousness and peace and joy that comes from our fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

You see, your life is a gospel that someone reads, sees or hears and gets drawn to God.

A life well lived speaks volumes than a sermon well preached. In other words, people respond to your way of life and behavior more than what you say.

You must behave the gospel by demonstrating God’s divine power in you. Don’t just expect sinners to change, pray it as well. Don’t only sympathise with the sick and broken, show them love and heal them.
Bible says “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power”.(1 Corinthians 4:20)

You are a carrier of God’s power. Let the world around you feel it.
Jesus didn’t just talk about God, he demonstrated him through healing, giving and teaching.
You too can do same and even greater works than these can you do.

You are the gospel the world is waiting for.
Don’t deny your generation of God’s love and power.

Read: Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to live a life of the gospel through the demonstration of your love and power. Amen

Win souls for God

Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

Every believer has a responsibility to win souls for the Lord. This is a nonnegotiable duty since you and I must one day stand before the Lord and give an account on this soul winning assignment.

See Mathew’s account on the soul winning assignment from the Lord:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

You see, you have a God given assignment to go and make disciples for the Lord, not only that, you also have a duty to teach them to obey the Lord. Thus, soul winning involves bringing someone to the saving knowledge of the Lord and teaching the person to live by the word of God. So in soul winning, you save people with the preaching and teaching of the gospel and also build them up with same.

Soul winning is a responsibility you must not neglect. Neglecting this duty means that many people will miss their way to hell.
Be passionate enough and be a soul winner.

Don’t look far, just look close and see who you can reach today with the gospel. It can be your parents, siblings, friends or neighbours.
Save a soul today, and get someone to be heavenly bound.

Read: Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for grace to actively engage in this heavenly mandate of soul winning. Amen

Part company with sin

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

In as much as God has delivered believers from sin and the power of sin, we must continue in this same “state” by consciously disengaging ourselves from sinful acts. You see, the new life in you is programmed to have power over sin. This makes sin more of a choice. Thus, as a child of God, you sin because you want to sin.

It is without doubt that sin as a negative force has risen to its highest level in the end times. See Matthew 24:12:
“Because of the increase of wickedness (evil, iniquity, lawlessness) the love of most will grow cold”. But this is not an excuse to give in to sin. You see, you must never make an excuse or justify a sinful action in any way.

Giving an excuse for doing something wrong, will keep you in a self created bondage of sin. On the other hand, the Bible says, sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14).

In parting company with sin, you must be word conscious to enable you resit the deception that sin brings. Be smart enough to know that, irrespective of how small an act is, if it is sin, it will grow and also cause you to abound in other sinful acts. Hence, the statement, “sin gives birth to sin”.

Don’t give in to sin, no matter the justification that this corrupt world will give to it. Remember that, sin has serious consequences that can mar or destroy your walk with God.

Read: 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Prayer. Lord, i thank you for delivering me and giving me power over sin. Amen

Live in purity

1 John 3:3
“And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless).”

Purity, or holiness is a non-negotiable virtue or quality that the believer must yield him or herself to.

Living in purity means that, you are living out the sanctified life imparted into your recreated human spirit when you got born again.

That’s why, Peter by the Spirit admonished us “to be holy, because God is holy”. As a Christian, you are not different from what God is by nature. 1 John 4:17, says “…as he(God) is, so are we in this world…”

You see, that’s why you can’t be corrupt, sexually immoral, and perverse in life as a Christian. No! That’s not who God intended for you to be.

As a Christian, you have all it takes to stay pure or holy in this perverse world. The Bible says, God works in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Thus, the willingness has been given, and the ability has been given. Yours is to live it out.

You can’t give an excuse for living a sexually immoral life, whether in thought or action.
Today, we have people deceiving themselves under the disguise of relationship or courtship and engaging in all kinds of sexual sins – kissing, caressing, and sexual intercourse.
Well, the intention to marry someone, or relationship is not marriage, thus, engaging in any sex and its related activities is an act of unholines or impurity.

You can’t live like this as a Christian, and neither must you give an excuse for such happenings.

Our opening text, says those who have hope in the Lord that he will come to rapture the saints, keep themselves PURE.

Whether being it corruption, perversion, sexual immorality, this can’t characterize the life of the born again Christian.

Read: 1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the grace to walk in holiness always. Amen
