Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
These two opening text teaches us how to deal with doubt in our faith journey.
As Christians we must resist fear and the devil, we must also resist doubt. Doubt is an attack against our confidence in God and His Word. It tries to make us question God’s promises, His ability, and His faithfulness. But as believers, we are called to stand firmly on what God has spoken.
You see, the presence of a doubtful thought does not mean you have lost your faith. Temptations, thoughts, and feelings may come, but you do not have to accept or agree with them. The key is not to give doubt a voice through your words. Instead of speaking what fear and doubt suggest, choose to speak what God has declared.
Your words reveal what you believe. When you constantly confess uncertainty, defeat, and fear, you strengthen the very things that are fighting against your faith. But when you declare God’s promises, you strengthen your spirit and remind yourself of the truth.
In every situation, remember who you are in Christ. You are a believer. You are a new creation. You are a child of God, and the One who lives in you is greater than every challenge you face. Doubt does not define you, because your identity is rooted in God’s Word.
When doubt comes, do not entertain it. Resist it with the truth of Scripture. Refuse to allow the enemy to control your thoughts and conversations. Choose faith, speak faith, and live by faith.
