Do not loose your Value

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:13‬.

Value can simply mean placing premium on something or a person. It can also mean how important something is to you.

Salt can also be defined as a mineral that helps in preserving food items for longer periods. As Christians bible says we are the salt of the world, meaning our presence here on earth preserves the people of the world. We are their source of direction and motivation. Through us they are able to know what and how to live for God.

The opening text continues to say… “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted?”
Once salt looses it’s value know that it’s of no use. It is not good for anything profitable but rather to be damped and trampled upon.

You see, you can only maintain your value as a Christian here on earth by knowing who you are. Knowing who your heavenly father has made you, and how he has called you to be a beacon of light wherever you find yourself. As a Christian strive to bring solutions to your world. Let the people around you feel the impact of your Christianity. Be their source light and direction (1Peter 2:9 ).
‭‭
Refuse to live without purpose, refuse to live without a sense value, refuse to conform to the standards of this world. But rather live as one who knows his/her place in Christ.

Read: Romans 12:1
“And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Please God !

Ephesians 5:8-10 says “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and *find out what pleases the Lord*.
Again in Galatians 1:10 the Bible says “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? *If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ”*.

How to please God must be your greatest priority as a Christian. You must not be reluctant when it comes to doing what pleases the Lord.

You doing what pleases God is of great importance to God. It also shows that you are his servant.

Although people and things will compete for your attention when it comes to who or what to please, don’t be carried away from pleasing the Lord.

In pleasing God, you put the will of God first, you put the word of God first, and you obey whatever the Lord tells you.

Read: Romans 8:8 “Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God”.

Study: Galatians 6:8

Live in a way that pleases God

“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more ” (1 Thessalonians 4:1).

Pleasing the Lord simply means doing the will of God, obeying the word or acting according to the wisdom of God.

Pleasing the Lord must be the quest and desire of every child of God since it is the arrow head to living a glorious and fulfilled life in Christ.

You see, although some people find it difficult to please God in this dispensation because they put pleasing themselves/others above pleasing God, dare to be different. Never follow the trend. Know that after everything is said and done God will still be the eternal God while men will be taken out of the midst of their days.

One thing you have to know as a believer is that pleasing God will lead to pleasing spiritual people since they also know what pleases God.

Desire to really know and to do what pleases the Lord in this sinful and evil world.

Greater is He that is in you

1John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”.

The knowledge of what you carry and who you are enhances your faith life. It was on this truth that the Spirit made known to the believers who they have.
See 1 John 4:4: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”.

You see, the Bible says the greater one, God Almighty is in you. This is the truth. You have the Almighty himself dwelling in you. Ephesians calls it the ” fullness of God”.
Knowledge of this new creation reality makes you a stalwart in your walk on the earth.

You see, many believers have not fully considered this truth. Some too have always looked at things from negative perspectives. Always talking about how weak the believer is, how helpless the child of the Almighty God is, how the believer can’t make it and the like.
But remember, God never makes any sissies.

The Bible says we are more than conquerors. But you see, weak and fearful people never think of or even attempt confronting evil opposition left alone coming out as victors or conquerors. This is to tell you that you are God’s mighty one.

If you don’t see who God has made you and to fully know and understand your abilities in the Lord, the devil will take advantage of you. He will mess up with your “goodies”.
Many believers have ignorantly remained victims of satanic onslaught. But this must not be the case.

The Bible says, resist the devil and he will flee. James 4:7 says “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.

But if you see yourself to be weak, having nothing, without the Spirit, you will be in your best place but the devil will run the show.
Stand your grounds, tell the devil you can’t touch my stuff. Never fail or fall in the time of adversity.

Give no place to the devil

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil ” (‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:26-27‬).

Whatever the devil can do against you is dependent on the place you give to him. This is to tell you that, the devil is not as powerful as he has been presented.

The devil has but only one agenda; that is to steal, to kill and to destroy(John 10:10).
Therefore any place you give him will lead to destruction.

You see, before the devil can get a place to operate from, he needs some situations to exist.
These includes fear, ignorance and sin.

As a Christian you need to grow in the knowledge of God, resist any happenings that inspires fear, and to also yield yourself fully to God to avoid living a carnal or sinful life.
These are sure ways to prevent the devil from carrying out his agenda in your life.

Give the devil no place in your life going forward.

Read: 2 Timothy 2:26 “And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

Listen to a father’s instruction

Proverbs 4:1-2 *”Hear, O children, the instruction of a father*, And pay attention [and be willing to learn] so that you may gain understanding and intelligent discernment. For I give you good doctrine; Do not turn away from my instruction.”
One way to succeed in life is to listen to a father’s instruction. There is nothing as great as having a father who gives you good doctrine or instruction.

You see, a father has a great interest in your life and wants you to succeed in your endeavours. No father wants to see his children or offspring suffer. This is why fathers most often than not give instruction.

As a Christian, there are fathers who will instruct you in this life. Nonetheless, until you follow wholeheartedly these instructions you won’t go far in this life.

First, you have God as a father and all the instructions he has given is in the word for you to obey. Secondly, you have your biological father, who will also instruct. Last but not the least is your pastor, who also as a father but from a spiritual dimension will instruct you.

Many people today, have not seen the bright side of life because they were not instructed as to how to go about things or they willingly neglected the instructions.
Although instructions sometimes seems restrictive, it is worth obeying giving the benefits thereof.

Instead of arguing, submit to, obey, and willingly follow the good instructions of fathers and you will stand out in life.

Don’t treat an instruction like a suggestion. Be serious with the instructions you receive from fathers.

Know God better

“that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death; if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:10-11‬.

Being a Christian means having accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior. It also means doing everything that is pleasing in the sight of God.

In the above scripture, Apostle Paul, a great minister of God desired to know God better after all he has experienced with Him. He even desired to experience a bit of what Christ had gone through in terms of suffering, meaning he was ready to lay down his life for the Lord no matter the cost .

Knowing God better means loving him more. Most Christians claim they love God but denounce him when the going gets tough.
A surest way to demonstrate our love to God is when we still trust him despite the challenges we might face.

Not only must you love God when all things are good and perfect, but love him in the hard times. Love him when things are shaking and rocky. Love him even to the point of death.

God is calling you into a deeper fellowship with himself, to know him better.

Read: “to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.”

Desire to be filled with the Spirit

“And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:6‬ ‭ASV‬‬

In Acts 19 the Bible teaches about being born again and receiving the Holy Spirit. This spiritual experience is that which distinguishes the Christianity from any other faith. It is a life lived in the Spirit, by the Spirit, with the Spirit and in the Spirit.

You see, you can’t serve God without the spirit. You cannot do anything meaningful in the kingdom or for God with your human strength or capabilities-you will fail. John 6:63 says “It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing”

Being filled with the spirit is a sure evidence that we are children of God. Because that’s what Jesus promised us as believers.Having the spirit marks you for progress and prepares you for the father’s use.
‭‭
Desire to be filled with the spirit. Desire to walk and do everything according to his leadings, and you will impact many.

Wait on the Lord

Isaiah 40:31 says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”
Waiting on the Lord is a sure means by which the Christian is empowered or endued with strength. Where waiting means tarrying or staying long enough in God’s presence either by praying, fasting, worshipping or praising the Lord.

The constant practice of waiting on the Lord makes the believer refreshed and also gives the believer access to other benefits in the presence of God. Psalm 16:11 says “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”.
You see, as you wait on the Lord, you partake of the joy that is in God’s presence. In other words, the troubles of this world can’t rob you of your inner peace.

Also those who wait on the Lord receive strength to do the impossible. In the natural you will get tired and weary when you go about your endeavors. In fact, some even get to the point of being fed up and quit. But this is not so with those that wait on the Lord. Those that wait receive strength, they are empowered like an eagle to soar higher in what they do. They also don’t get tired working out the purposes of God for their life.

Make it your priority to spend quality time with God in prayer and in reading the word. Moses the man of God waited on the Lord forty days on Mount Sinai and the glory of God caused his face to shine. He became a man full of wisdom, power and meekness because God has made known to him his ways. Start waiting on the Lord, and make it the most important thing in your life. It will cause you to soar higher.
