GOD IS ABLE AND WILLING TO BLESS YOU

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (Ephesians 3:20)
“And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him” (Luke 5:12-13)

God is able to do anything and everything to put you up and at the best place in life. When the knowledge of this truth settles in your heart it will make your faith strong. No matter the situation you are faced with in life, always know that “God is able” and “God is willing” to come through for you.

When it comes to you receiving blessings from God, it is more dependent on you than on God. The truth is, God is able to do all things. The Bible has made clear God’s divine ability and willingness to bless us.

Consider the scripture: Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

God is only limited by your inability to “ask” or “think” in faith. You see, the power in every child of God is fueled by faith in God. As long as you ask or even give thought to something in faith, God is ever ready and willing to bless you with it.

Another scripture puts it this way: 2 Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness…”
You see, God is never in short of power, neither is He reluctant to bless his children.
Yours is to ask, and think about God’s ability to make all things possible in your life.
Remember, God is Able.
For with God all things are possible

Avoid lip service

“Then the Lord said, “Because this nation approaches [Me only] with their words And honors Me [only] with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me is a tradition that is learned by rote [without any regard for its meaning]” (Isaiah 29:13).

Your relationship with God must be guided by both your words and heart induced corresponding actions. When you limit your relationship with God and worship only to “what you say” and don’t live by it, you are offering lip service.

God is not moved by lip service. As a matter of truth, you can’t have God’s best for your life when you don’t go beyond words into doing what you profess.

During his earthly life, Jesus once rebuked the people who were into lip service. Luke 6:46 says ” *And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?*”

Saying you are a Christian makes no difference to God until you live by his word. Move away from all the “talk show” and start living out the virtues of the Christian faith.

Never forget, God is not moved by empty words. Add sincere heart and actions to your worship and relationship with God.

There is authority in the Name of Jesus

Just before He ascended to be seated at the right hand of the Father, Jesus said, “All power [authority] is given me in heaven and in earth” (Matt. 28:18) and just after that he said to his believers “Go ye therefore “(Matt. 28:19).
Thus what we must go with every now and then in our walk with God is the name of Jesus.

You see, the name of Jesus is not like any other name. The Name that is recognized in three worlds—the Name that has authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. Angels, men, and demons bow to this name.

In fact, experiencing the miraculous is even connected to the name. Mark 16:17,18 puts it this way, “ And these signs shall follow them that believe; IN MY NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”.
This is to tell you that, there is healing, deliverance, restoration, salvation and protection in the Name.
See Acts 4:12, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”

As a believer, you have the name that can put you on top of every hurdle or challenge in life. Engage the name. Speak it over your health, speak it over your family, speak it over your ministry and speak it over all that concerns you.

Read: Philippians 2:9-10 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”

Winners never quit!

People who win or make it in any field of endeavor have one exceptional quality; they never quit in what they do. This principle cuts across both spiritual and natural things.
Thus in your walk with God, you will only succeed and see great exploits if you learn not to quit. Many who amount to nothing in their walk with God are those that stopped on the way. So you see, it doesn’t matter where you are now, what matters is that you must never quit. You must hold in high esteem the things, you have learnt in your walk with God.

In becoming a stalwart in his generation, the incoming prophet, Elisha who must take the place of his spiritual father and mentor, Elijah must engage the principle of “no quitting”.
In fact he had to journey with Elijah through various destinations. The Bible says they moved from Gilgal, to Bethel, through Jericho, and finally to Jordan. Despite the attempts from his spiritual father to get him to stay behind (2 Kings 2:2), Elisha never gave in to that. He looked forward to the prize, the anointing, and the grace that he expected to receive.

This was how he caught the “double portion” or the reward. Interestingly the order for him to ask what he wanted only came after they got to their destination (2 Kings 2:9). Meaning that, stopping at any point will mean forfeiting the mantle he desired.
You see, it is important to start something, but you must also finish so as to achieve the goal that made you start in the first place.

Today, we have people that easily quit Church, they quit attending fellowship meetings, they quit praying, they quit being obedient Christians, they quit following hard after their spiritual fathers or mentors and the ministry.
But remember that, the crown is always given at the end. Don’t fall off when things get tough. Press ON.

The little foxes that ruin the vineyards

Song of Solomon 2:15 says, “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards…”
Although it seems ironic, it is an undeniable truth that, most great things are destroyed by small things. In other words, it is some “small wrong elements” that ruins big things in life.
Most often than not, you don’t have to do something big or “great” to destroy something awesome in life. All you have to do is just something “small”.

Life experience will teach you that, sometimes you just need one act of carelessness, one idle word, one negative comment and one wrong act just to destroy something big and good in life you might have taken years to accomplish or establish.
For instance, meaningful relationships that has been built over the years can crumble overnight with the invasion of “little foxes”.

Today, we have ministries, marriages, friendships, etc, that have suffered by this. Solomon puts it this way “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards…” (Song of Solomon 2:15).

Sometimes it is not the supposedly big things that we have in mind that might be destroying something in your life, ministry, marriage or education. It may be something “small” that you are overlooking.
Pray that the Lord will instruct your heart or reveal to you the little things you are taken for granted that can ruin your life.

A little leaven leavens the whole lump. Just a little yeast is needed to cause the dough to rise. Live and be cautious in life because there are some little negative things that can bring you down.

Read: Ecclesiastes 10:1 “Dead flies cause the ointment of the perfumer to putrefy [and] send forth a vile odor; so does a little folly [in him who is valued for wisdom] outweigh wisdom and honor”.

WHAT CAN YOU DO ?

It is always important to know what ability you have and speedily put it to use, before it is too late. Because having an ability to do something today does not mean such an opportunity will exist forever. To some of the things you have to do,they have the hidden tag “now or never”.

We can see a perfect example about this in the Bible where a woman came to break an alabaster box of precious spikenard and poured it over the head of Jesus (Mark 14: 3). Although this art of worship and honour was done to Jesus, some people got offended and complained.
But Jesus expressed a contrary opinion from what some of his disciples said. To Jesus “she (the woman that poured the oil) has done what she could and have prepared his body for burial” (Mark 14:8). Jesus described the actions of the woman as good and beautiful (Mark 14:6).

You see, Jesus made us understood that the woman has done what she could. To him if for nothing, the woman has fulfilled purpose,by putting her ability and resources into use.
Though what the woman did was called a waste by some onlookers, she was praised by Jesus.

But it was not long after, Jesus died on the cross and was buried. Nonetheless, some of these same followers of Jesus came around to the tomb to anoint His body. But guess what, Jesus has risen. In other words, they did not get the opportunity to do that. Their bottles of oil remained with them. It was no longer useful or needed.

Remember that, Jesus did not celebrate their intention though it was good. All that Jesus could have said will be “it is too late”. What can you do for God toady? What can you do for your parents today? What can you do for someone today? Do what you can! You don’t have forever to do what you can do.
Remember, time won’t wait for you.

EXCEL IN GIVING

Giving is an important aspect of our Christian walk. It is a ministry that when we take a hold of, has the power to bless. Acts 20: 35 says “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive”.

In writing to the Church of Corinth, the Apostle Paul admonished them to abound in the grace of giving just as they have abounded in other virtues like faith, utterance, knowledge, diligence and love. “But since you excel in everything–in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you –see that you also excel in this grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7).

You see, your giving is a vehicle through which many great things can be accomplished in the body of Christ. But the truth is that, today’s Church is in a great financial need because many people have not committed themselves fully to the ministry of giving. In some places, believers must be compelled and persuaded with many enticing words before they can give a dime to support God’s work.

Remember that, by giving to support God’s work, you are laying up treasures for yourself in heaven. You are partnering the course of the gospel that would bless many lives and above all bring salvation to all “hell bound sinners” in our world today. Don’t see your offerings, tithes, and any financial support you give as a mere religious activity or ritual. See it as a means of partnering God’s course. See it as your token of love for God and always give in faith.

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit”. What you say matters in life. By our opening text, what you say can either bring life or death.

You see, your tongue has a creative power. Meaning that, whatever you keep saying will become a reality. Proverbs 13:2 says, “A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth…” The Bible again declares that, thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth (Proverbs 6:2). Jesus also said “the words that I speak are life” (John 6:63).

You cannot undermine the power of words. Words are agents of creation. They bring into existence whatever you proclaim. That is why it is very dangerous to talk anyhow. As simple as you will see it, your words chart the course of your life. Talk evil and you will be surrounded with evil, talk sickness and poverty, and you will have plenty of it. Release words of fear and unbelief, and they will rise up like a mountain and swallow your faith.

Because words create, speak only positive stuffs. In fact, it is best for you to speak great things into your life or never say anything than to talk troubles into your life. Watch your words!

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2Corinthians 13:14). Our walk with God is a walk and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. In this end time or dispensation, God has made his Spirit available for us- for comfort, for empowerment and for fellowship. See the prophesy of Joel, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).

It is very important for you to know that the Holy Spirit has a glorious ministry to fulfill in the lives of believers. But his work can be fully experienced when we become conscious of him daily. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, and goes about this ministry in us (John 14:16).

Nonetheless, until you understand and accept this ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life, you will feel as and think you are alone in life. But you must know that God is interested in your wellbeing that is why he has given you a heavenly comforter here on earth.

This precious Holy Spirit is also a guide and a revelator. He guides you to pleasant places and also tells you about things to come. John 16:13 says “… when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will GUIDE you into all truth… and he will SHOW you THINGS TO COME”. The Holy Spirit is our “all-knowing” partner who keeps and guides us continually in our walk with God. Get intimate with the Spirit through prayer, worship and meditation on God’s word and you will have a smooth sail in fulfilling your purpose on earth.

Read: “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13)

Humility can make you get to the top

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled [before others], and he who habitually humbles himself (keeps a realistic self-view) will be exalted (Luke 14:11).
No one can wear the crown of honour without being humble. How humble you are in life will determine how far you can go. It also determines what you can achieve and the doors that will be opened to you in life. Humility is such a great virtue that every Christian must cultivate. Proverbs 15:33 says “The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility”.

Never think of being great if you can’t pay the price of humility. Humility is a factor that will make you learn from others, submit to an authority, and also give you a teachable spirit. I have discovered that as humans as we are, we have a high tendency of choosing to be proud than to be humble. But that is why God’s word is available,to recourse and to re-program our lives.

You see, it is a display of great WISDOM, when you decide to be humble and learn from others. Any time you become defiant and offended when corrected, you are REJECTING HONOUR. Any time someone who is ahead of you cannot correct you because you do not want to agree or accept it, you are in for trouble. Not only that, it also means that you are simply proud, and that MAY DESTROY YOU.

After some few years in the ministry as a pastor, I have seen that pride has made many people failures than anything else. Correct the perception that; when you are humble people take you for granted or oppress you. Remember it is GOD WHO SAYS,
HUMILITY brings honor and promotion.
Be HUMBLE.

Read: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time”.(1 Peter‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭ASV)
