Hell to escape

There’s a hell to escape from. Hell or Hades is a place of eternal torment and pain. It is a place for all the children of disobedience, who despise God and reject his salvation.

The good news is that anyone born again has been redeemed from the clutches of hell into eternal life in the kingdom of heaven.

The Bible says concerning every believer that, “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).

You see, your attention must be set on heaven as a Christian. It should be your number one priority. Be willing to do all it takes to avoid hell and it’s dangers, because though hell is not meant for believers, living a reckless ungodly life can send you there.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: *of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God*” (Galatians 5:19-21).
You see, if you give in to the works of the flesh you will surely miss the kingdom of God or Heaven.
If you miss Heaven, you won’t miss hell. It’s either one or the other.

You must avoid every contrary doctrine that suggests you can live in sin and still make it to heaven. Nothing impure shall enter heaven except they that are sanctified by the blood of Christ.

Receive Christ and his finished work of salvation in your life and be saved from the dangers to come.

Hell was not created with you in mind, so don’t go there by mistake.

Those who serve God

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23,24)

Serving God is always a blessing. One truth that must dominate your heart constantly is that God is a rewarder. He always remembers to reward those who serve him faithfully.

The Bible says in Hebrews 6:10 that,
“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do”.

God will reward every effort you make at serving him with a blessing.

One of such blessings is recorded in Psalm 37:25;
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread”.
You see, when you serve God he makes your protection and provision his business.
Exodus 23:25 also says “And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”. Meaning that, serving God brings you into the arena of “divine health”.

This is why you must choose to serve God.
You must surrender your life to God and his work. This is the hall mark of those who serve God.
You can also serve God by working in the church. Let your hands find something to do in God’s house.
Be a teacher, an organizer, an usher, etc. Use all your skills and intellect to the service of God.

Today, in a quest to find wealth and self satisfaction, people don’t find delight in serving God anymore. Everyone is busy with a personal agenda and has forgotten that it is the blessings of God that brings true wealth and peace.

See Proverbs 10:22;
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it”.
Make serving God your delight from now.

BELIEVE IN YOUR PRAYERS

Mark 11:24 says “Therefore, I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”
It is one thing to pray and another thing to also believe in your prayers. Most often than not people master the former to the neglect of the latter.

They pray but that is how far they go.
As a Christian you don’t just pray. You must believe in your prayers. That is how you can get results.

Hear what Jesus said on the subject matter in Mark 11:24″Therefore, I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”

Hear it again, the word says “WHEN YOU PRAY, BELIEVE”
You don’t have to pray and still live in a wonderland. No! That’s not faith.

Some people after praying will say, “well I have prayed so let’s see what God will do”. Well, that is still not faith. That is hope. Hope just expects a positive outcome in the future.

On the other hand faith says it is done and moves on to give glory to God.

The Bible never said pray and hope.
It says when you pray believe that it is done. This is where many people miss it.

You must engage your faith when you pray to request something of the Lord. God does not want you to expect good things after the prayer of request. No! You must believe it is a done deal and start praising God. People who wait to see before they believe will wait forever.

Those who believe in their prayer don’t wait to see a physical manifestation before they thank God and CELEBRATE their miracle. NO! After prayer, their countenance changes. Their faces shine with the JOY of the Lord. They make Glorious confessions. They talk about the victory have received.

Don’t pray to request something of the Lord if you are not ready to believe in your prayers. See Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”

Pray Always

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that *men ought always to pray, and not to faint*” (Luke 18:1)

Prayer is very important to the child of God. Through prayer, we have fellowship with God. It is by prayer that we engage also in spiritual warfare. However, for prayer to be effective, it must be consistent.

The Bible says in Romans 12:12 that, “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer”.

You see, prayer is not something you do once in a week or once in a month as a Christian. It is also not something you do only when you go to Church. When it comes to prayer the watch word must be “always”.

Prayer must be part of your daily life as a believer. You must learn to pray intentionally in all situations until prayer becomes part of you.

Jesus, our chief Shepherd and our perfect example was a man of prayer. See how he prayed. “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed” (Mark 1:35).

Christians who have relegated prayer to Church services can’t do much in life. Such people use prayer as an “emergency weapon”, that is to say that, they pray only when they are faced with trouble.

But remember for you to succeed in all your endeavours, you must pray at all times.
Let your prayer life be consistent.

It is worth waiting on the Lord.

Romans 8:25
“But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Waiting plays a significant role in our hope towards God. Your ability to wait patiently on God in dire seasons of life shows great hope.
Unfortunately, many believers are not patient enough to wait.

Bible says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
You see anytime you wait on God your strength is renewed.

Waiting period doesn’t mean a period of inactivity, on the contrary, waiting demands that you engage in a lot of spiritual activities.

For instance, when a sower puts a seed in the ground, he must wait for it to germinate. During that period of waiting, he must apply manure, water the soil, give adequate sunlight, etc. He does all these while waiting for germination to begin.

Similarly, as a believer, your waiting period must be full of spiritual exercise. You must keep on praising the Lord, you must worship and keep a positive confession, knowing that in the right time God will show up.

Don’t lose your hope while waiting. Waiting period is a period of renewal. It builds in your tenacity and strength.

Don’t quickly exit the doors of waiting on the Lord.

Matters of the heart

What is in your heart determines to a great extent what you will do and become. It informs your actions and inactions as an individual.

The Bible says in Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh”.

Therefore, you are more or less of what is in your heart. Your actions gives a clear picture of what is in your heart.

The heart in this context, is talking about the ‘real you’ or the ‘inner you’. That is, the man you are in your inside.

You must know that, the heart of a man can be either good or evil, depending on what you are yielded to.
See Proverbs 23:12
“Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge”.

Because your heart is important, the Bible says , “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Proverbs 4:23). Don’t let unwholesome things affect or influence your heart.

Let your heart be yielded to the word of the Lord. This is how you can put your life right before God and man.

“Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still, Selah”.

Sophia

Sophia is the Greek rendering for ‘wisdom’. When the Bible talks of Sophia, it is talking about the manifold wisdom of God that is now operational in all believers.

When it comes to wisdom, Christ is our source. Born again folks have a higher wisdom. Not the wisdom of this world but that which is of God and is Christ himself.
The Apostle Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 1:30,
“But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, *who became to us wisdom from God*, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption”.

Again, he reiterate this further in Romans 11:33 “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!”

This same wisdom was evident in the life of Jesus. In fact, Jesus acted in wisdom throughout his earthly life.
See Matthew 11:19;
“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds”

This is why every one called by God to serve in anyway in ministry must seek after wisdom. It is a prerequisite that validates your calling.

“Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, *full of the Spirit and of wisdom*, whom we may put in charge of this task. (Acts 6:3)
You see, you can’t be called by God and still live or act as though you are not wise.

Nonetheless, this wisdom of God is not only given to leaders and ministers but to all who are Christ’s.
All Christians have been called to manifest the wisdom of God on the earth.
Ephesians 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Don’t live in ignorance, child of God. Wisdom is your birthright, therefore walk in it.

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding”.

Don’t fall in the day of trouble

“They told him, This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby” (Isaiah 37:3)

There are many situations or issues that you may be faced with in life. Some may be good whiles others may not. For instance there are times when you can have more than enough and there are times too when things may be scarce. In fact, there are days of peace and there are other days too when you may be faced with troubles. However, as believers God expects us to stand in the day of trouble and not to fall or give up.

The Bible actually reveals the causer of all troubles, the devil. He is our chief adversary in life.
1 Peter 5:8 says “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”

A real example of a day of trouble is what we witness about the righteous man, Job.
In a single day, he lost his business, his family and his estate. As though these were not enough, his health also failed.
But in all these, the Bible says Job still stood strong and never turn against the Lord. In fact, against the advise of the wife for him to curse God, Job rather looked up to God in all these troubles. (Job 2:9)

You see, the Bible teaches us to stand and not fall in the day of trouble. Proverbs 24:10 says “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small”.

No matter the trouble that will come to you, whether in your finances, marriage, relationship, work, ministry, or health, remain firm and believe that God is able to see you through it.
In the day of trouble pray, search God’s word and make it your confession. Never despair but encourage yourself daily.

Be strong, be encouraged. Weeping, like trouble may endure for a night but your joy, breakthrough, miracle will come in the morning and it will stay forever.

Be Strong In Faith

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb”. (Romans 4:19)

Faith is the lifeline of the believer. It is by faith that we can have any meaningful fellowship with God and also receive from him. This makes your faith key in your walk with God.
The importance of your faith, is the reason why the devil tries to attack it.
Because when your faith fails, you connection with God fails.

But God wants you to grow and be strong in your faith to the point where you can stand against any attack on your faith. Irrespective of the circumstances life throws at you, you must maintain strong in your faith.
1 Corinthians 16:13 says “Be on your guard; *stand firm in the faith;* be courageous; be strong”

Being strong in faith means remaining resolute about what you believe. It means you are not moved by circumstances but by the WORD you believe.

You see, strong faith believes beyond what the physical eyes sees.
No matter the deadness of a situation, “strong or firm faith” only sees victory.

Feed on God’s word to get faith and constantly practice what the word says after prayer and meditation and your faith you remain strong.

Read: Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

Keep the right company

It matters the company you keep if you are a child of God. The company you keep contributes greatly to your personal development. Keeping the right company will promote you whiles a bad company will demote you. For this reason the Bible warns us that,
“Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character” ( 1 Corinthians 15:33).

The company you keep can be any person or group of people that associate with you directly or indirectly.

As believers, the Bible admonishes us to keep the right kind of company. Ones that will impact your life positively.
See 2 Corinthians 6:14
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

You see, anytime you associate with bad company, you become unequally yoked. That means, such company creates a moral and spiritual imbalance. It has the tendency to corrupt and take you out of the will of God.
On the contrary, good company would always influence you positively, keep you in God’s will and bring out the best in you.

Endeavor to always keep the right company.

“Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself “.
