The power of soft answer.

Words are very powerful. It forms the basis for human interaction and communication. In fact, great relationships are built on the pillars of good communication. This is why you must learn to clearly convey your thoughts in the best and appropriate way without reducing it’s impact

You see, the way and manner you use words has a great impact on the meaning it conveys. Hence the power of words lies in how its used.

Apostle Paul in teaching this great lesson said,
“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may *know how ye ought to answer every man*” (Colossians 4:6)
The sad truth is that, many do not know and have still not mastered how to answer people. Their answers are always a reflection of their emotions. But you see, you must not respond to people emotionally, rather gracefully. The word grace means something of beauty and deserving of adoration.
This is what must characterize the way you respond to people at all times.

You must not merely react because of a situation, let grace guide your speech.

One truth is that, employing harsh words, strong tones and giving sacarstic answers to people do not promote peace, love and unity.

Be a master at answering people. Learn to talk well.

Grow up

2 Peter 3:18 says “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
Every believers life must be characterized by growth. It is one sign that shows that you are making progress in your walk with God.

You see, remaining at the same level of faith, understanding, grace and love after being born again is a sign that you are not growing.

Just as people grow in the natural, it is also expected that we grow spiritually as well. Growing in the Lord will therefore follow the same principles as in the natural.
To grow up in life, whether in the physical or spiritually, feeding, and the right kind of food is key.

The food that brings growth to the Christian is God’s word. The Bible says “desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby”. Thus, you must be on the “word diet to grow up”.

When you don’t feed on God’s word you remain a “baby” Christian and many things that rightly belongs to you may not come to you.
Not only that, it is by growth that you are “TRANSFORMED”.
In the natural, trees that grow change in shape and form, and moves through various stages then to fruit bearing. Same applies to Christians who grow.

Be zealous about growing up. This is the sure way for you to become productive in life.

The power factor in working for God.

Working for God is a privilege bestowed on every Christian. It is also our main duty in this world as believers. Nonetheless, you can not work for God until you have being empowered to do so.

Jesus had to empower all his disciples before sending them out to work for him.
See Matthews account on this.
“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease” (Matthew 10:1)

You see before the disciples of Christ could do any mighty work, they had to receive the divine power from God.

Similarly, today, you can’t do any significant work for God until you have received power from above.
This divine power gives the believer a dynamic ability to bring changes. It also gives you authority over evil spirits.

You see when you receive divine power, you can effectively evangelise the world, heal the sick, raise dead, cast out demons and bring restoration to God’s people without struggle.
It is by the power of God that you are able to make impact in this world.

Don’t be deceived, the devil or the evil in this world does not respond to your status in the flesh, or any political power or your achievements in your career. It only takes the demonstration of God’s power to undo the works of the devil.

Learn to wait on God to be endued with Power. Crave for it, and be willing to pay the price for it.

Read: Acts 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.

Called to be servants.

Leadership is a very important for any institution to thrive. However, the leadership that makes any meaningful impact is one that is founded on service. We are all called to be servants. Contrary to worldly opinions and concepts of leadership, Christ taught that, to lead, you must first serve.

See Marks account of Jesus’s teaching on serving.
“But Jesus called them to him , and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: *but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister*, And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:42-45).

The general misconception is that, leaders are meant to be served or enjoy the best of everything. But you see, that’s actually not the case. Jesus said, if you want to be the chief or master, be the servant first.

Unfortunately, many are not willing to pay the price of service. In fact, most people are craving for the power that comes with leadership but none is ready to subject themselves to service.
Nonetheless, servanthood is the God ordained way to thrive as a leader.

Always know that, your first point of service must be to God and whatever he demands of you.

God is calling you into a place of greatness that comes through service.
Endeavor to be a servant.

Read: John 12:26
*”If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour”*

Those who care

The world is gradually moving away from being people focus to being focused on material things. In fact, almost everyone is on a journey to maximise their personal interest without a concern for any brother or sister. The genuine care that comes from the bowels of love is no longer a concern to people.

Nonetheless, God wants believers to be different. God demands that you show concern and care for others just as you would to yourself.

Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Philippi about the exceptional life of Timothy on this subject.
“I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel”
(Philippians 2:19-22)

To care means to show genuine concern or solicitous attention about something or someone, especially regarding their welfare.

Truthfully, you can’t express love without the element of care. Hence, whenever love is in motion, care is automatically displayed. You must learn to show great concern for the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of others. Not just showing concern but making efforts to help where is needed. Care without any action is merely sympathy.

You see, the number one reason why you must care for others is because God cares for you.
“Casting all your care upon him(God), for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

From today, let your love be characterized by genuine care. Don’t only look at your interest.

“But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity”

God can help you

God is the God of helps. Throughout generations, he has proven his ability to help us even in our worst moment. This characteristic of God makes him the only one we can truly look up to in times of need and trouble without being disappointed.

Therefore David said in Psalms 34:5 that, “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy, no shadow of shame will darken their faces”.
When you make God your helper, he satisfies you with goodness and brings joy into your heart.
That is why you must trust and look up to him and him alone in dire times.

The problem of most people is that, they don’t look up to God for help. They have relegated him as last resort for help.
For instance, when some Christian gets attacked with sickness, their families would first of all seek medical help, if it doesn’t work, then they resort to herbal medicine. When these two fails, then they come to the Church for divine healing.
They don’t seek God as their first point of call. In fact, they don’t trust in his timely deliverance and help.
This applies to people in need of various things. Some money, others job, and others too a life partner to marry.

But the Bible says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God” (Psalm 20:7).

You must understand that, only God can rightly help you. To trust man or other mediums for help would only lead you into frustration and disappointment.

God can help you, so learn to trust him.

“In times of trouble, may the lord answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. *May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem*”

The promise of life in Christ.

Christ is our heritage as Christians. Aside, being the life for us as Christians, Christ is also a place.
The Bible says “if any man be in Christ” he is a new creation(2 Corinthians 5:17).

The bible again says for in him we live and move.
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring” (Acts 17:28).
This is to say, all those who choose believe and surrender their earthly lives to Christ, would inherit a far better, glorious life in Christ Jesus.

The life we inherit in Christ does not render us handicap or limited as some assume. As a matter of fact, it’s a full package of divine health, struggle free prosperity and a taste of divinity on earth. It also gives us an assurance of a glorious eternity with God after our life on earth.

You see, the futures is bright and will be bright if and only if you are in Christ. Your success and prosperity is assured only in Christ through the life he promises to give you freely. That’s why you must surrender your life to the Lord “fully”.

To believe in your education, status, money, as pillars for your future is to believe in vanity.
This is because these things can’t stand the test of time and above all can’t give you life.

Everything you can have and be to please God is in Christ.
Yours is to accept his Lordship over your life and meditate on his word to bring your mind in sync with the new life that is your spirit.

This is the only sure to have a great future.

God wants you healed

Sickness and disease are not from God, neither does he inflict it on his children. God does not derive any pleasure in your sickness, on the contrary, He wants you healed and living in divine health. That’s His earnest desire for you.

That’s why He said in 3 John 1:2 that “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.
Your prosperity, good health and peace of mind are his greatest desire for you.

The misconception that, sickness and disease are a punishment from God for sins has caused many people to accept that they don’t deserve divine healing. But you see, this is the falsehood preached by the devil himself.

Sickness has a life. It is an evil life, that torments the bodies of people and finally kills or destroys. God is not a killer, destroyer or thief like the devil. On the other hand, God is holy and righteous, hence such evil cannot stem from him. It is important to know that, God doesn’t punish nor afflict people with sickness.

God promised in Exodus 23:25 to deliver us from sickness. “And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”

God is our healer and he is ever ready to heal you of every sickness or infirmity. Don’t hesitate to call on him for healing.

As you read and meditate on God’s word, may you experience healing in every part of your life.
Amen.

Be an example to other believers

1 Timothy 4:12 says “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity”.
Your call as a Christian is to an example to other believers.

To be an example simply means living by some standards that others can follow or imitate. Being an example also means modeling your life in a manner that can positively influence people around you.
You see, no matter the level of your faith, God has called each and every one of us to be a positive influence to one another.

No wonder the Bible says that, we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Meaning that, by all standards the believer must stand out in life.

The Bible in our opening text, listed five main things that believers must live out to become an example to one another in the body of Christ. These includes, what you say, the way you live, your love life, your faith, and your purity.

You see, as stated earlier, irrespective of whether you are new in the faith or not, you must set a example in the body of Christ. In fact, a good example.
The words you use or what you say must positively influence someone, the way you live must not mislead people, but rather spur them on in their walk with God, your love and faith must be something that can be well spoken of and above all your purity in this end times must also be unquestionable.

Set your heart on these virtues and constantly ensure that you do nothing short of this. This is one way you can help build a glorious body of Christ till Christ comes.

But we preach Christ crucified

“But we preach Christ crucified”… (1 Corinthians 1:23)

The single most important need of mankind is Christ. The chain of troubles facing the world cannot be eradicated by instituting more systems or by presidential powers. What the world needs is the salvation that comes through Christ.

On this note we are reminded in Acts 4:12 that this,
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

This is why Christ must be preached throughout the entire world. The responsibility of preaching to the world lies on the shoulders of every child of God or believer.
You see, it is the ministry of every believer to preach Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:19)

You are an ambassador of God with the message of salvation. The message is that, through the crucifixion and death of Christ, the world is saved from the power of sin and death and any demonic influence that brings destruction.

As simple as it may seem, this is the message that brings hope, peace and love into the world. This is why you must not neglect your duty of sharing the gospel.
