It is worth waiting on the Lord.

Romans 8:25
“But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Waiting plays a significant role in our hope towards God. Your ability to wait patiently on God in dire seasons of life shows great hope.
Unfortunately, many believers are not patient enough to wait.

Bible says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
You see anytime you wait on God your strength is renewed.

Waiting period doesn’t mean a period of inactivity, on the contrary, waiting demands that you engage in a lot of spiritual activities.

For instance, when a sower puts a seed in the ground, he must wait for it to germinate. During that period of waiting, he must apply manure, water the soil, give adequate sunlight, etc. He does all these while waiting for germination to begin.

Similarly, as a believer, your waiting period must be full of spiritual exercise. You must keep on praising the Lord, you must worship and keep a positive confession, knowing that in the right time God will show up.

Don’t lose your hope while waiting. Waiting period is a period of renewal. It builds in your tenacity and strength.

Don’t quickly exit the doors of waiting on the Lord.

Matters of the heart

What is in your heart determines to a great extent what you will do and become. It informs your actions and inactions as an individual.

The Bible says in Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh”.

Therefore, you are more or less of what is in your heart. Your actions gives a clear picture of what is in your heart.

The heart in this context, is talking about the ‘real you’ or the ‘inner you’. That is, the man you are in your inside.

You must know that, the heart of a man can be either good or evil, depending on what you are yielded to.
See Proverbs 23:12
“Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge”.

Because your heart is important, the Bible says , “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Proverbs 4:23). Don’t let unwholesome things affect or influence your heart.

Let your heart be yielded to the word of the Lord. This is how you can put your life right before God and man.

Sophia

Sophia is the Greek rendering for ‘wisdom’. When the Bible talks of Sophia, it is talking about the manifold wisdom of God that is now operational in all believers.

When it comes to wisdom, Christ is our source. Born again folks have a higher wisdom. Not the wisdom of this world but that which is of God and is Christ himself.
The Apostle Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 1:30,
“But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, *who became to us wisdom from God*, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption”.

Again, he reiterate this further in Romans 11:33 “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!”

This same wisdom was evident in the life of Jesus. In fact, Jesus acted in wisdom throughout his earthly life.
See Matthew 11:19;
“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds”

This is why every one called by God to serve in anyway in ministry must seek after wisdom. It is a prerequisite that validates your calling.

“Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, *full of the Spirit and of wisdom*, whom we may put in charge of this task. (Acts 6:3)
You see, you can’t be called by God and still live or act as though you are not wise.

Nonetheless, this wisdom of God is not only given to leaders and ministers but to all who are Christ’s.
All Christians have been called to manifest the wisdom of God on the earth.
Ephesians 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Don’t live in ignorance, child of God. Wisdom is your birthright, therefore walk in it.

Don’t fall in the day of trouble

“They told him, This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby” (Isaiah 37:3)

There are many situations or issues that you may be faced with in life. Some may be good whiles others may not. For instance there are times when you can have more than enough and there are times too when things may be scarce. In fact, there are days of peace and there are other days too when you may be faced with troubles. However, as believers God expects us to stand in the day of trouble and not to fall or give up.

The Bible actually reveals the causer of all troubles, the devil. He is our chief adversary in life.
1 Peter 5:8 says “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”

A real example of a day of trouble is what we witness about the righteous man, Job.
In a single day, he lost his business, his family and his estate. As though these were not enough, his health also failed.
But in all these, the Bible says Job still stood strong and never turn against the Lord. In fact, against the advise of the wife for him to curse God, Job rather looked up to God in all these troubles. (Job 2:9)

You see, the Bible teaches us to stand and not fall in the day of trouble. Proverbs 24:10 says “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small”.

No matter the trouble that will come to you, whether in your finances, marriage, relationship, work, ministry, or health, remain firm and believe that God is able to see you through it.
In the day of trouble pray, search God’s word and make it your confession. Never despair but encourage yourself daily.

Be strong, be encouraged. Weeping, like trouble may endure for a night but your joy, breakthrough, miracle will come in the morning and it will stay forever.

Be Strong In Faith

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb”. (Romans 4:19)

Faith is the lifeline of the believer. It is by faith that we can have any meaningful fellowship with God and also receive from him. This makes your faith key in your walk with God.
The importance of your faith, is the reason why the devil tries to attack it.
Because when your faith fails, you connection with God fails.

But God wants you to grow and be strong in your faith to the point where you can stand against any attack on your faith. Irrespective of the circumstances life throws at you, you must maintain strong in your faith.
1 Corinthians 16:13 says “Be on your guard; *stand firm in the faith;* be courageous; be strong”

Being strong in faith means remaining resolute about what you believe. It means you are not moved by circumstances but by the WORD you believe.

You see, strong faith believes beyond what the physical eyes sees.
No matter the deadness of a situation, “strong or firm faith” only sees victory.

Feed on God’s word to get faith and constantly practice what the word says after prayer and meditation and your faith you remain strong.

Read: Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

Keep the right company

It matters the company you keep if you are a child of God. The company you keep contributes greatly to your personal development. Keeping the right company will promote you whiles a bad company will demote you. For this reason the Bible warns us that,
“Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character” ( 1 Corinthians 15:33).

The company you keep can be any person or group of people that associate with you directly or indirectly.

As believers, the Bible admonishes us to keep the right kind of company. Ones that will impact your life positively.
See 2 Corinthians 6:14
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

You see, anytime you associate with bad company, you become unequally yoked. That means, such company creates a moral and spiritual imbalance. It has the tendency to corrupt and take you out of the will of God.
On the contrary, good company would always influence you positively, keep you in God’s will and bring out the best in you.

Endeavor to always keep the right company.

“Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself “.

The power of soft answer.

Words are very powerful. It forms the basis for human interaction and communication. In fact, great relationships are built on the pillars of good communication. This is why you must learn to clearly convey your thoughts in the best and appropriate way without reducing it’s impact

You see, the way and manner you use words has a great impact on the meaning it conveys. Hence the power of words lies in how its used.

Apostle Paul in teaching this great lesson said,
“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may *know how ye ought to answer every man*” (Colossians 4:6)
The sad truth is that, many do not know and have still not mastered how to answer people. Their answers are always a reflection of their emotions. But you see, you must not respond to people emotionally, rather gracefully. The word grace means something of beauty and deserving of adoration.
This is what must characterize the way you respond to people at all times.

You must not merely react because of a situation, let grace guide your speech.

One truth is that, employing harsh words, strong tones and giving sacarstic answers to people do not promote peace, love and unity.

Be a master at answering people. Learn to talk well.

*”A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”*

Grow up

2 Peter 3:18 says “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
Every believers life must be characterized by growth. It is one sign that shows that you are making progress in your walk with God.

You see, remaining at the same level of faith, understanding, grace and love after being born again is a sign that you are not growing.

Just as people grow in the natural, it is also expected that we grow spiritually as well. Growing in the Lord will therefore follow the same principles as in the natural.
To grow up in life, whether in the physical or spiritually, feeding, and the right kind of food is key.

The food that brings growth to the Christian is God’s word. The Bible says “desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby”. Thus, you must be on the “word diet to grow up”.

When you don’t feed on God’s word you remain a “baby” Christian and many things that rightly belongs to you may not come to you.
Not only that, it is by growth that you are “TRANSFORMED”.
In the natural, trees that grow change in shape and form, and moves through various stages then to fruit bearing. Same applies to Christians who grow.

Be zealous about growing up. This is the sure way for you to become productive in life.

Read: 1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”

The power factor in working for God.

Working for God is a privilege bestowed on every Christian. It is also our main duty in this world as believers. Nonetheless, you can not work for God until you have being empowered to do so.

Jesus had to empower all his disciples before sending them out to work for him.
See Matthews account on this.
“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease” (Matthew 10:1)

You see before the disciples of Christ could do any mighty work, they had to receive the divine power from God.

Similarly, today, you can’t do any significant work for God until you have received power from above.
This divine power gives the believer a dynamic ability to bring changes. It also gives you authority over evil spirits.

You see when you receive divine power, you can effectively evangelise the world, heal the sick, raise dead, cast out demons and bring restoration to God’s people without struggle.
It is by the power of God that you are able to make impact in this world.

Don’t be deceived, the devil or the evil in this world does not respond to your status in the flesh, or any political power or your achievements in your career. It only takes the demonstration of God’s power to undo the works of the devil.

Learn to wait on God to be endued with Power. Crave for it, and be willing to pay the price for it.

Read: Acts 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.

Called to be servants.

Leadership is a very important for any institution to thrive. However, the leadership that makes any meaningful impact is one that is founded on service. We are all called to be servants. Contrary to worldly opinions and concepts of leadership, Christ taught that, to lead, you must first serve.

See Marks account of Jesus’s teaching on serving.
“But Jesus called them to him , and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: *but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister*, And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:42-45).

The general misconception is that, leaders are meant to be served or enjoy the best of everything. But you see, that’s actually not the case. Jesus said, if you want to be the chief or master, be the servant first.

Unfortunately, many are not willing to pay the price of service. In fact, most people are craving for the power that comes with leadership but none is ready to subject themselves to service.
Nonetheless, servanthood is the God ordained way to thrive as a leader.

Always know that, your first point of service must be to God and whatever he demands of you.

God is calling you into a place of greatness that comes through service.
Endeavor to be a servant.

*”If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour”*
