CALLED TO A LIFE OF GLORY AND VIRTUE

2 Peter 1:3 “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”

There is a dignity that comes with the Christian life. It is not an ordinary life, it is a life of glory. As a believer, you have been called into a higher realm, a life that is marked by victory, excellence, and godly character.

Your life is meant to reflect God’s glory and virtue in every area. This is not something you struggle to attain, it is something you have been called into. You must be conscious of this daily and let it shape both your words and your actions.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9 that you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, called to proclaim the excellencies of God. This means your life must display God’s nature. You are no longer defined by defeat, failure, sin, or limitation. These are not expressions of God’s glory.

Never allow the flesh to take you off this glorious life. Anytime the flesh takes control, it tries to pull you back into a lower way of living. But that is not who you are anymore. You now have a new life, a new nature, and a new standard. You are not to be governed by your natural desires, but by the life of God in you.

You have a new source and a new provision in Christ. As you stay connected to Him daily, His life will be expressed through you. This is how you manifest His glory to the world around you.

Walk in this consciousness. Speak it. Live it. Let your life continually reflect the glory and virtue you have been called into.

Read: Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for calling me into a life of glory and virtue. Help me to live daily in the fullness of this life. Amen.

DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.”

Spiritual gifts are vital in the life of every believer. Through these divine endowments, we are empowered to address issues, solve problems, and minister effectively in both spiritual and natural dimensions. However, these gifts do not just operate automatically; they respond to desire. Until you genuinely desire spiritual gifts, you may not yield to the Holy Spirit for their manifestation in your life.

Our opening scripture reveals a powerful truth: spiritual gifts find expression through those who desire them. There is a reason the Bible instructs us to eagerly desire these gifts. Spiritual gifts enable us to minister to the Lord and meet the needs of others. In fact, Scripture makes it clear that spiritual gifts are given for the benefit and edification of the body of Christ.

For example, through the gifts of healing, miracles, and faith (1 Corinthians 12:9), sick people can experience restoration and breakthroughs. And with the gift of faith challenges that limit people’s progress can be overturned. Also, the gifts of the word of knowledge and the word of wisdom provide direction, insight, and solutions in critical moments.

You see, the Christian life is not only about good conduct; it is also about demonstrating the power of God. This becomes a reality when we walk in the gifts of the Spirit. Do not limit your Christianity to simply “being nice” without experiencing and expressing God’s power.

As you pursue godliness and live out the virtues of the faith, also give attention to spiritual gifts. The Church becomes stronger, more impactful, and more vibrant when these gifts are actively at work. Prophecy, diverse kinds of tongues, miracles, and supernatural interventions should be evident among believers.

Redirect your desires. Do not let material things dominate your pursuit. While they have their place, they cannot compare to the value and impact of spiritual gifts.

Read: 1 Corinthians 14:1 “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for the Holy Spirit. Stir up in me a deep desire for spiritual gifts and help me to walk in their manifestation. Amen.

NEVER GROW WEARY IN DOING GOOD

2 Thessalonians 3:13 “And as for you, believers, do not grow tired or lose heart in doing good…”

Every believer is called to a life of good works. In all you do, your thoughts and actions must align with God’s will and reflect His nature. Nothing about your life should discredit your faith or produce results that contradict God’s Word or harm others.

This means you must be intentional about living out the values of the Christian life. Doing good is not something you do occasionally, it is a lifestyle. In every situation, you are expected to express your faith through right actions.

Doing good must not be based on feelings or convenience. It should not depend on how people treat you or how favorable the situation is. It must be a settled principle in your life.

There will be times when it is not easy. You may face challenges, pressure, or even discouragement. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, you must remain committed. Whether at home, in church, at work, or anywhere you find yourself, choose to do what is right.

Jesus is our perfect example. Acts 10:38 shows that He went about doing good. That should also define your life.

Do not get tired. Do not give up. Your good works are not wasted. There is a reward attached to consistency.

Read: Galatians 6:9 “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.”

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to remain consistent in doing good, no matter the situation. Amen.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU LISTEN TO

Numbers 13:27–28,30 “And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

What you hear shapes you. It can build faith or plant fear. It can strengthen your confidence in God or weaken your resolve. That is why you must be intentional about what you allow into your ears.

In our opening text, we see how words impacted the people of old in their journey to the promised land.

Some of the people who were sent to spy the land brought back a report that magnified the challenges and stirred fear. Unfortunately, the people chose to believe the negative report, and it affected them adversely. Although Caleb, on the other hand, brought a good report, most of the people had already been swayed into fear.

This shows clearly that what you listen to matters. If you keep feeding on words of doubt, fear, and discouragement, it will influence how you think and how you act. But when you give attention to words that align with God’s Word, your faith is strengthened and your confidence grows.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, but unbelief also comes by hearing the wrong voices. Every word you entertain carries an impartation. The right words will build courage, hope, and clarity, while the wrong words will produce fear, confusion, and hesitation.

Do not allow just anything into your ears. Be mindful of conversations, teachings, music, and opinions around you. If it does not build you, strengthen your faith, or align with God’s purpose for your life, do not give it attention.

Choose to listen to what edifies. Surround yourself with words that push you forward, not words that hold you back. What you consistently hear will eventually shape your life.

Guard your ears with wisdom, and you will walk in strength and direction.

Read: Mark 4:24 “Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you…”

Prayer: Father, help me to be mindful of what I listen to, and give me the wisdom to receive only what builds my faith and aligns with Your Word. Amen.

LET YOUR ACTIONS BUILD THE CHURCH

1 Corinthians 14:26 “Beloved friends, what does all this imply? When you conduct your meetings, you should always let everything be done to build up the church family. Whether you share a song of praise, a teaching, a divine revelation, or a tongue and interpretation, let each one contribute what strengthens others.”

The church is made up of different people with different gifts, graces, and levels of maturity. God’s design is that each person contributes what they have to strengthen others and build the church as a whole.

As a believer, you are not called to live in isolation in the church, neither are you called to create division. Your life and actions must contribute to a healthy, united, and strong church.

Whatever God has given you, whether it is singing, teaching, encouragement, or any spiritual gift, it must be used with the mindset of lifting others up. The focus should always be on strengthening people and advancing the church.

It is a serious mistake to use your gift or expression of spirituality in a way that weakens unity, love, or focus in the church. Sometimes, people act in ways that create confusion, tension, or unnecessary problems, even while thinking they are doing something spiritual. This should not be so.

Always check your actions. Are they building or breaking? Are they helping or hurting? Your contribution in the church must add value, not create burdens.

Let everything you do in the church be intentional and centered on edification. When every member plays their part rightly, the church becomes stronger and healthier.

Do not let your actions undermine what God is building.

Read: 1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love.”

Prayer: Lord, help me to use my gifts and actions to strengthen Your church and build others up in love. Amen.

LOVE: THE POWER BEHIND YOUR FAITH

Galatians 5:6 “…but faith which worketh by love.”

There is nothing as precious as having faith. The Bible shows clearly that faith can accomplish what seems impossible. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that if you believe without doubting, you can speak to a mountain and it will move. Hebrews 11:3 also reveals that through faith, the worlds were framed by the Word of God. That is the level of power faith carries.

However, as powerful as faith is, it does not function on its own. Faith needs to be powered, and that power is love. This means your faith produces results through the love you walk in.

Many people underestimate love, but love is not weakness. Love is a divine force. It is what gives life to your faith. Without love, your faith becomes inactive, no matter how much you try to exercise it.

Your faith will only work effectively when your love walk is intact. When you hold bitterness, offense, or selfishness in your heart, it affects the flow of your faith. But when you walk in love, your faith becomes bold, active, and productive.

If you want to see results in your faith, then pay attention to your love walk. Learn to forgive, be patient, and genuinely care for others. Faith and love are not separate, they work together.

Whether it is faith for healing, provision, or overcoming challenges, it is sustained and expressed through love. Trying to operate in faith without love is like trying to run a car without an engine. No matter how hard you try, it will not move.

So if you want to grow strong in faith, grow strong in love. That is the key to seeing real results.

Read: 1 Corinthians 13:13 “The three most important things to have are faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love”

Prayer: Lord, help me to walk in love so that my faith will be effective and produce results. Amen.

GET READY TO BE BLESSED

Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Luke 5:12–13 “…Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean… And he put forth his hand… saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.”

God is not only able, He is also willing. These two truths must be settled in your heart. Many people believe God can do great things, but they are not sure He will do it for them. But the Scriptures show clearly that God has both the power and the willingness to bless His children.

When this truth settles in you, your faith becomes strong. No matter what you are facing, you will not doubt. You will know that God can step into your situation and also that He is ready to do so.

In the account in Luke 5, the man with leprosy was not questioning God’s ability, he was unsure of His willingness. Jesus answered both at once, “I will.” That settled it. God is not reluctant about your blessing.

The question is not whether God is able. The real issue is whether you will believe, ask, and align yourself with Him. Ephesians 3:20 shows that God’s ability goes beyond what you can ask or even imagine, but it is according to the power at work in you. That power is activated by faith.

God is not limited in power, neither is He holding back blessings from you. According to 2 Peter 1:3, He has already made available everything you need for life and godliness. Your responsibility is to believe, to ask in faith, and to keep your thoughts aligned with His Word.

Do not think small. Do not limit God in your mind. As you ask and as you think in faith, you position yourself to receive from Him.

Always remember, God is able, and God is willing.

Read: Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

KEEP YOUR HOPE ALIVE

Romans 15:13“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

God is a God of hope. This means that no matter your situation, there is always a place for expectation and a reason to keep believing. The Bible makes it clear that hope is one of the things that abides in life alongside faith and love. Hope is not optional, it is foundational.

As a Christian, you must never let go of your hope. Your hope is what keeps you connected to God, keeps you loving Him, and keeps you holding on to His Word. The moment you lose hope, everything begins to decline. Letting go of hope is like letting go of everything.

There will be times when hope seems weak. Delays, disappointments, and difficult seasons can make it look like nothing is working. But you must refuse to give in to discouragement. Like David, do not allow your soul to sink into despair. Encourage yourself and continue to hope in God.

Hope is what fuels your expectation. It keeps you looking forward and believing that things can change. When hope is alive, faith has something to work with. But when hope fades, faith also loses its strength.

God responds to hope. Romans 15:13 shows that He fills you with joy and peace as you believe, so that you can abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. This means your hope is not sustained by your strength alone, but by the help of the Spirit.

No matter what you are facing, keep your hope alive. Even when there is no visible sign, still expect a turnaround. Still believe for your miracle, your breakthrough, your lifting, and your testimony.

Like Abraham, who against all odds believed in hope, you must choose to hold on. Refuse to quit. Refuse to give up. Let hope remain alive in you.

Remember, without hope, faith cannot function effectively. Your faith works best when your hope is strong.

Read: 2 Corinthians 3:12 “Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech.”

Prayer: Lord, fill my heart with hope and help me to hold on to You no matter what I face. Amen

PRAY IN THE SPIRIT AT ALL TIMES

Ephesians 6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.”

As a Christian, your prayer life must go beyond natural words and personal desires. You must learn to pray in the Spirit. This means your prayers are guided, influenced, and energized by the Holy Spirit, not just by your own understanding.

Praying in the Spirit is prayer that flows from your spirit under the influence of the Holy Spirit. It is not limited to what your mind can comprehend. As 1 Corinthians 14:2 says, “He that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God… in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.” This kind of prayer connects you directly with God beyond human limitations.

When you pray in the Spirit, you stay aligned with God’s will. It helps you to pray accurately and effectively. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, your natural mind and personal desires can take over your prayer life, and you may end up praying outside God’s will.

Make it a habit to pray in the Spirit. Do not allow the cares and distractions of life to limit your prayer life. Prayer is a spiritual exercise, and the more you yield to the Holy Spirit, the more effective your prayers become.

Romans 8:26 reminds us that “the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses… for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us.” The Holy Spirit is there to help you pray. He guides you on what to pray about, how to pray, and even gives you the right utterance.

When you rely on the Holy Spirit, your prayer life becomes stronger and more effective. You begin to pray the right things at the right time, and your prayers produce results.

Read: 1 Corinthians 14:14 “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.”

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I yield to Your guidance. Help me to pray as I ought and to stay consistent in praying in the Spirit. Amen.

DELIVERANCE THROUGH PRAYER

Acts 12:5,7 “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.”

Prayer is a powerful tool in the hands of the believer. Through prayer, you can influence situations and bring God’s intervention into the affairs of your life. The power released through prayer becomes your covering and support in times of trouble.

In our opening text, we see how Peter was kept in prison, but the church prayed earnestly for him. That prayer triggered divine intervention. An angel showed up, chains fell off, and what seemed impossible was turned around. This shows clearly that prayer can bring deliverance even in the most difficult situations.

The power of prayer is real. Throughout Scripture, we see how prayer changes outcomes. Jesus prayed and bread was multiplied to feed thousands. In moments of pressure, He prayed and was strengthened by angels in the garden of Gethsemane. In Acts 28, through prayer, Paul brought healing to a man on the island of Malta.

As a Christian, never give up because of challenges. When situations look difficult or beyond your control, that is the time to pray. Prayer invites divine involvement into your circumstances and also affects the lives of those around you.

In the face of stubborn situations and persistent challenges, stay in prayer. Do not lose heart. Your prayers are not empty. They carry power and shall produce results.

Read: Psalm 65:2 “O You who hear prayer, to You all men come.”

Prayer: Lord, I ask for Your intervention in every situation around my life. Let Your power bring deliverance and turn things around for my good. Amen.
