VALUE ANY GOD-GIVEN RELATIONSHIP

2 Timothy 4:10 says “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica….”
One way by which we connect and/or associate with people is by relationship. This can either be from the spiritual or natural stand point.

But any relationship you have with someone does not work by itself. You have to understand the type or the nature of the relationship you are in to act accordingly.

There can be a father -son relationship, master -servant relationship, teacher-student relationship, marital relationship, etc. Each type of relationship has its privileges and responsibilities. Don’t just glory in a relationship that exists by name but has no real impact on your life.

See what the word teaches on the type of relationship or association you have with someone or people in life and do the needful.

When it comes to relationships you have with people, know that the less is always blessed by the greater (Hebrews 7:7).

Don’t forget or forsake a God-given relationship that can and has blessed you. Treat it with respect and wisdom. Also, engage the principles of honour, gratitude, honesty and humility and you will be blessed.

Don’t assume the existence of something is equal to its relevance. Infact, there are some dead and dying relationships.
Make every effort to safeguard what the Lord has blessed you with. Don’t be like Demas, who destroyed his relationship with the Apostle Paul.

Don’t worry about your life

Matthew 6:25 says “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

You see, nothing is supposed to get you worried in life, or better still you must not be worried in life.

The truth is that “worrying” is not of God. It is a device of the enemy, programmed to make you fearful, sorrowful and anxious in life. Anytime you give in to worrying, you allow the devil to rob you of your joy in Christ.

As a Christian you must get rid of all heaviness from your heart which comes from worrying in order to flow freely in whatever God demands of you.

When you are worried in life, you can’t think right or make right decisions.

Never think “worrying” is “thinking” because worrying comes with great uncertainty and undermines God’s grace.

Always remember that, God wants you to free yourself from worrying.

Read: Philippians 4:6
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done”.

Actions that correspond with faith

James 2:14 says “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”.
The Bible goes further to say that “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

You see, you can’t have results in life when your actions does not correspond with faith. You must always act on the grounds of faith. Believing something by itself will not get the job done when you don’t live it out.

One mistake that some believers make is to confess their faith in the Word of God and at the same time contradict their confession by wrong actions.

As a Christian your faith in the word of God must always inform or determine your actions. Irrespective of the storms that you may face, you must always act on the word. The word of God is reliable and always works.

When you receive and believe the word on healing, you don’t remain glued to that sick bed any longer. You get up from that bed and start to do that which you could not do before. It may be gradual, but that is a corresponding action to your faith and it will make your healing manifest fully.
Don’t believe the word and do the opposite of it. It won’t bring you any results.

Read: Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”

Don’t be forgetful

Deuteronomy 8:10-11 “When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day”.

It is a display of great wisdom and gratitude when you *don’t forget God and the people he used to bless you*.
Sometimes when God meet your needs and elevates you in life, you must safeguard your heart against being forgetful.

In other words, you must always keep it at heart or recall how God has fulfilled his word in your life.
This is where many people miss it. They are eager and quick to receive from the Lord, but easily forget all of his goodness. They refuse to continually appreciate and CELEBRATE the goodness of God that made them who they are today. They forget the Lord that took them from pain to gain, shame to fame, grass to grace, nothing to something. David in Psalms103, said “bless the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits”.

Always be grateful to the Lord, the methods and the men He uses to make your life beautiful.

Divine health, your covenant blessing

Exodus 23:25 “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”.

Living in health is God’s plan for all his children. Divine health as you can see is activated by serving the Lord. That is by entering into a covenant relationship with God.

Bible records that, when the people of God moved out of Egypt and journeyed via the wilderness, there was none sick among them for all the forty years.
God was among them and did quicken their frail bodies. Those who fell and died among them broke their covenant relationship with God. They grumbled and murmured against him. Nonetheless, some did enjoyed divine health. They were shielded from the evil forces of sickness.

Never for one moment think that God wants you sick. God does not bring us sickness. He wants us well. Serve the Lord with gladness and you will enjoy divine health. It is a covenant blessing. Confess it every day. Declare “I live in divine health, and I cannot be sick”.

Faith works!

Hebrews 11:3 says ‘By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible”.
Though there are some uncertainties that we can associate with the efficacy of some things in life, it is not so with faith. Any time faith is at work, doubts give way, uncertainties are cleared and results show up.

Sometimes, people have a little confusion about what faith is. They claim they had faith in and for something, but it did not come to pass or work. But the Bible says faith works. You see, if your faith is engaged, it will produce results unless it is not faith.

When faith is at work it considers everything as a done deal. It calls real the expected future. Faith takes hold of something you have hoped for and lays claim to it.

Faith believes and acts on God’s word despite contrary evidence in the natural. With faith, you don’t need to see physical money before you know that God has made you rich. Similarly, you don’t have to see all symptoms of a sickness disappear before you know that you are healed. NO! All you need is the word in your heart, then you work it out.
Engage your faith today.

Love the Lord!

Your love for God is one of the most important things that must be in place in your Christian life. The Bible has instructed us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 19:19).

In Revelation 12:11, the Bible says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”. Note that last phrase which says “AND THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO THE DEATH”. Meaning that, their love for God, the things of God, the purpose of God, took away their love for the self. They were ready to die because of their Love for the Lord.

Whenever love is in place, you go the extra mile, and do greater things for God. Just consider Jesus,He came to the world to save us but the price was death. Nonetheless, his love for us made him pay such a great price. Today, love the Lord and work for him.

DON’T FORGET TO KEEP YOUR VOWS

Ecclesiastes 5:4-5
“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”

A vow is a solemn promise to do a specific thing. As Christians we must come to the point of faithfully keeping our vows that we make to the Lord. You see, after making a vow, nothing must make you go back on your own words to do something different.
Keeping your vows tells how serious you are and how serious you take God.

There are many folks today who make vows in Church and after some few days and months break those vows.
But the truth is, irrespective of your status or level in life,a vow to God is a “vow”, and all you can do is to keep it.

You can’t tell or promise God that you will do one thing today and wake up the next morning and start doing something different.
There are many Christians who have failed God in this area. Some have thrown away their vows to live a holy life, others have also thrown away their vows to sacrifice for the things of God, in fact there are many vows pending in the Church today that demands the obedience and execution of believers.
You see, when things were tough and rough you made vows and conditioned them to the blessings of God.
But now that you are abounding in the goodness of God, you have failed to keep your vows.

Have you kept all your vows to the Lord?
Vows have power. You either keep them or face the consequences for not keeping them.
God’s word on vows is explicit. See it in Ecclesiastes 5:4-5.
“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”
Get up and pay your vows. God takes vows serious.

At thy word

Luke 5:5 “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”.
When God and his word comes to the scene, it does not matter again what was and has been the case. In fact, what didn’t work and the earlier methods used doesn’t matter also. What matters now is the word of instruction or the word of God.

You see, instead of complaining of past failures or things that didn’t work, resort to the word or the instruction God is giving to you.

God’s word can be trusted. His word is sure and tested and proven. Isaiah had this to say about the word of God “…my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).

Simon after toiling all night with no results to show for it, resorted to God’s word and had his miracle.
Take God at his word. Do what the word says even if you don’t feel like and you will see your blessings and the results you wanted come to pass.

GOD WILL HELP YOU

Psalm 46:1 says “O God our God, a very present help in time of trouble”. Also, 2 Samuel 22:36 says “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your help makes me great”.
As a Christian, you must know that, you are not without help. No matter how things will turn or how the tides will change against you, God will help you.

This is why it matters where you want to receive help and from whom you want to receive it.
You see, although help is very important in life, you can miss it or even get into sin and error when you receive help from wrong sources and from the wrong people.
Getting help from the wrong people can put you in a state of unrest instead of rest. Such helps are nothing but prison in disguise.

2 Samuel 22:36 says “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your help makes me great”. You see, God’s help will make you great. It will turn things around for your good. The help of God will also bring rest to your soul.
Nevertheless, don’t lose sight of the fact that, God will also use people he has appointed to help you. Do not throw in the towel, do not give up,neither fret or be anxious for help is on the way.

One song writer, puts it well that “…God is our help in ages past, and our hope for years to come…”
Learn to depend on God for help. He knows how to touch people’s heart to help you.
As you receive this divine help, also learn to help others.
Help! Help!! Help!!!
