LIVE WITH PURPOSE.

Luke 19:10
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

Every person is born with purpose. Regardless of your background, black or white, male or female, your life carries a divine assignment. You are not an accident. You are a deliberate design of God for a specific reason.

God does not want you to live by chance. He wants your life to count by being purposeful. You see, “purpose is the compass of destiny. Without it, life becomes motion without meaning.”

Purpose gives direction to your existence. As Christians, we are not here to merely pass through time. We are called to impact our world (1 Peter 2:9). God in His wisdom has crafted a unique plan for each of us. He called us out of darkness into His marvelous light not to wander but to walk in destiny.

In our opening scripture Jesus declares His mission, to seek and save the lost. That was His divine assignment and He fulfilled it. He was not derailed by hardship or distracted by comfort. He stayed true to His call.

Likewise you must stay committed to your purpose. Life’s journey will not be a straight road. Nonetheless, do not let fun, distractions or temporary pleasures rob you of your eternal assignment. Guard your purpose. Fight for it. Live it out intentionally.

To walk in your purpose you must overcome limiting thoughts, fear of failure, rejection and the discouragement of critics. Stay focused. Purpose may be tested but it cannot be destroyed when rooted in God.

Never forget this. You were born with a purpose. Rise and fulfill it.

Read: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to be intentional about my purpose in life. Amen

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.

1 Timothy 6:12
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses”

Our walk with the Lord as Christians is a faith walk. We start the journey by faith, and we receive the promises of God through faith.

Laying hold of God’s promises in the face of oppositions, especially from the devil, is what the fight of faith is all about. This fight is a good fight because we are fighting to possess, and we are fighting from the victory that the Lord has already given to us when he defeated the devil (2 Corinthians 2:14, Colossians 2:15).

As a believer, it is your fight of faith that delivers into your hands what rightfully belongs to you. You must learn to always take hold of the Lord’s promises concerning your life with the force of faith. Do not give the devil any opportunity to steal, kill, or destroy anything that belongs to you.

When it comes to accessing your possessions in the Lord, whether spiritual or physical, you must learn to resist the devil. Speak God’s word against every work of darkness. Boldly deny the enemy access to your territory.

Wage a good warfare, to enjoy your welfare. Tell yourself that you will not be destroyed by sickness or disease because you were healed by his stripes. Refuse it completely in the name of Jesus. Reject poverty, sin, and any work of darkness that seeks to hinder the beauty of your life.

Read: Psalm 16:5-6 “Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

Prayer: Lord, thank you that I live in health and wealth, and no weapon of the enemy formed against me shall prosper. Amen.

FREE YOUR HEART FROM THE WEIGHT OF COMPLAINING.

James 5:9
“Do not complain against one another, believers, so that you will not be judged [for it]. Look! The Judge is standing right at the door.”

It is often easier to point out what others are doing wrong than to reflect on our own flaws. Unfortunately, some people seem to draw satisfaction from pulling others down just to elevate themselves. But this must never be the posture of a true believer in Christ.

Instead of turning to murmuring or complaints when people offend or disappoint you, choose to respond in love and encouragement. Be intentional about showing kindness even when it’s not deserved. 1 Peter 4:9 exhorts us to “use hospitality one to another without grudging.” This means your actions and words toward others should come from a sincere heart, not from duty or hidden resentment. As a believer, you are called to be a source of comfort and strength, not a channel of criticism and strife. Let your interactions reflect the grace you have received from God.

In today’s world, many speak against the Church, the servants of God, and anything they disagree with. They are quick to form opinions and pass judgments. But you must be intentional about being different. Do not join the crowd in tearing down what God is building.

You see, when you choose the path of grumbling or harboring resentment, you unknowingly give the enemy access to your life. Complaint opens a door for demonic influence and brings dissatisfaction to your soul. People who always find faults with others are rarely joyful themselves. They lose peace and become trapped in their own bitterness.

Holding a grudge or constantly complaining leads to divine judgment. When you position yourself as a judge over others, you invite judgment upon yourself. And if God passes judgment on you, who will defend you?

So no matter what happens, choose not to complain. Let discontentment and fault finding have no place in your heart. Instead, respond with grace, love, and understanding.

Read: Philippians 2:14–15 “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky”

Prayer: Lord, help me to guard my heart against fault finding.

STIR YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT WORDS.

Ephesians 5:18–19
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”

Living a Spirit filled life is closely tied to the words you speak, especially to yourself. The experience of God’s power is not just about outward expressions but also about the inward atmosphere you create with your words. The Bible makes it clear that speaking is one of the ways we stay filled with the Spirit.

The scripture says, speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. This means that maintaining a Spirit filled life involves intentionally speaking the right words, especially words inspired by Scripture, by praise, and by the Spirit. This is not just about talking to others. It begins with what you say to yourself.

When you consistently speak words that align with God’s truth, you stir up the Spirit within. But when you give voice to negativity, fear, or doubt, you can weaken the spiritual atmosphere around you and even hinder the move of God in your own life.

That is why you must never talk yourself down, no matter what you feel or what happens around you. Choose to say what God says about you. Do not let fear or frustration shape your vocabulary. Guard your heart by guarding your mouth.

No matter what comes your way, sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord. Tell yourself it is well. Tell yourself that God is in charge. Remind yourself that everything is working together for your good. These declarations are not just positive thinking. They are powerful affirmations of your faith in God.

Remember, the depth of your fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the spiritual climate you live in are directly influenced by the words you speak, especially to yourself.

Read: Psalm 43:5 “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God”

Prayer: Lord, help me to speak words that align with your truth. Let my mouth release life, power, and joy that keeps me filled with your Spirit.

YOU CARRY GOD’S POWER.

Luke 9:1
“Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases”

Living in and with power is an important dimension in our earthly life. As Christians, God has endowed us with power. Ephesians 3:20 says “… according to the power that worketh in us”. This divine power is not just symbolic; it is active and present in every believer who understands their spiritual identity.

You see, you must see yourself as someone filled with the power of God and someone with a “dominion mandate” before you can make significant progress in life. God’s power in and with you is not a physical “ability”. Nonetheless, this awesome power can have a positive impact on your total health and wellbeing. It changes how you respond to challenges and how you manifest the will of God on earth.

Our opening text reveals that the power of God we are entrusted with is to enable us deal with satanic and demonic activities. Not only that, but also, a means by which we can take territories for God in this world. This is more than spiritual defense. It is also spiritual advancement.

You see, those who fail to walk in this power will always struggle to reign in life. God has invested this power in you to walk victoriously in life. Those who walk in the fullness of God’s power live above principalities, divinations and evil power. Know that fear is conquered and life becomes better because the greater one, who is the source of power, lives in you. You are not helpless. You are spiritually equipped to overcome.

Let’s consider what Matthew said in his Gospel. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost :” (Matthew 28:18). This means that those who are Christ’s have received His power. One that enables you to operate in the earth on His behalf.

Fear, failure and defeat is not your portion. You are a child of Power and an overcomer. Walk boldly in this reality.

Read: 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for endowing me with power. I win in life with the power of God with me and in me.

A HEART THAT CARES LIKE JESUS.

Matthew 25:35–36
“For I was hungry and you gave me food… I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

To follow Jesus is to carry His heart, a heart that sees, feels, and responds to the needs of others. Jesus cared deeply for the hungry, the lonely, the sick, and the forgotten. He did not ignore people. He moved toward people with a compassionate heart. As His disciples, we are called to do the same.

You see, caring for people begins with awareness. You must intentionally consider and remember those who are struggling, the ones life has sidelined, the ones often overlooked. As a Christian you must not only be concerned about your welfare. Other people’s welfare must matter to you. You cannot walk in the footsteps of Christ and remain indifferent to the burdens of others.

Never make life only about yourself. The Christian life is a shared one, rooted in love, service, and empathy. Learn to pause and notice people around you. Let your presence bring comfort. Let your resources bring help. Let your love bring hope.

God calls us to carry a heart that mirrors His, one that is moved by compassion and ready to act. “But thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same earnest care I have for you” (2 Corinthians 8:16). Know that God has placed sincere concern in your heart and expects you to respond as such.

To care is to reflect God’s nature. It is not weakness. It is power wrapped in mercy. As you care for people, don’t let unfortunate happenings make you become indifferent, Do your God-giving assignment and live the rest to the Lord.

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:25 “That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.”

Prayer: Lord, give me a heart like Yours, one that sees, feels, and responds in love to those in need

SET THE STANDARD FOR OTHER BELIEVERS.

1 Timothy 4:12
“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”

As a believer, your life is meant to set a clear and visible standard for others to follow. You are not just called to believe in Christ, you are called to reflect Him.

To be an example means living in a way that others can look at and be inspired to live for God. It means being intentional about your speech, your conduct, and the values you uphold.

God expects your life to be a message. A message that points people to righteousness, faith, and purity. Whether you are young or old in the faith, your life must sharpen and build others.

Your words should encourage, your actions should glorify God, your love should be genuine, your faith should be unshakable, and your purity should be unquestionable. These are the marks of a believer who is truly living as an example.

Never take lightly the influence your life can have. Others are watching, learning, and growing through what you say and do. Choose to be the reason someone else decides to walk more closely with God.

Read: Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

Prayer: Father, help me to live a life that inspires others to know you and walk in your ways.

WALK IN HUMILITY.

Proverbs 29:23
“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit”

Pride is a silent destroyer. It creeps in and can reduce a person from greatness to nothing. It undermines your growth and success, no matter how far you’ve come.

To walk in pride is to hold an inflated view of yourself, to see yourself as better, more deserving, or more important than others.

You see, people often fall into pride because of their achievements, their wealth, their connections, or even their gifts. But viewing yourself above others because of what you have is a trap.

God’s will is not for you to be puffed up, but to remain humble no matter your level in life. Know that, walking in humility attracts God’s presence and blessings. Pride, on the other hand, positions you against God himself. Proverbs 6:16–17 says “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue…”
Thus, it is clear that pride is offensive to God. James 4:6 also says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

If you desire God’s grace, honour, and favour, walk in humility. Let go of pride and choose the lowly path that leads to lasting greatness.

Read: Proverbs 29:23 “A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

Prayer: Lord, teach me to walk in humility and clothe me with your grace every day.

DELIGHT IN SERVING GOD.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23,24)

Serving God is always a privilege and a blessing. One truth that should stay rooted in your heart is that God never forgets. He is a faithful rewarder of those who serve him sincerely. As a Christian, you must be willing to advance the course of the Lord in all your endeavours.

God sees and rewards whatever service we render in his name. Hebrews 6:10 reminds us: “For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do”.

Every effort you invest in serving God draws a blessing in return. One such promise is found in Psalm 37:25: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread”.

When you serve God, he takes personal responsibility for your provision and protection.

Exodus 23:25 puts it this way: “And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”. Serving God connects you to the realm of divine health.

This is why choosing to serve God is a wise and blessed decision. Surrender your life to him and be committed to his purpose.

Always find opportunities to serve the Lord. It can be in your family, church, community, etc., As a Christian use your abilities and knowledge for God’s glory. Don’t chase after wealth and personal gain, forgetting the joy and peace that come from serving God. Remember that Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it”.

Read: John 12:26 “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”

Prayer: Lord, I choose to serve you with joy and devotion. Use my life for your glory. Amen

FULFILL YOUR OBLIGATIONS.

Romans 13:7
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”

Every relationship you engage in places a certain divine obligation on you. God expects you to recognize and fulfill the responsibilities that come with the roles people play in your life. It is crucial to understand the nature of your relationships so you can offer the proper respect, reverence, and honour they deserve.

Our opening scripture clearly highlights some obligations we must discharge towards certain people. These are reverence or deep respect and honour. These are not optional gestures but spiritual dues. You are commanded to respect and honour specific individuals regardless of personal opinion or sentiment.

Romans 13: 1 shows us that leaders, those God has set in authority over you, must be respected and honoured. In your home, this applies to your parents. In the church, this applies to your pastors and spiritual leaders.

In fact, every structure of authority that governs your life demands this response from you. Honour and respect are debts you owe according to God’s word. Failing to pay this spiritual debt is disobedience.

Do not dishonour or disrespect those to whom God says honour is due. Fulfill your obligation. Pay what you owe.

Read: 1 Peter 2:17 “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor.”

Prayer: Lord, help me to honour and respect everyone You have placed over my life. Amen.
