FULFILL YOUR OBLIGATIONS.

Romans 13:7
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”

Every relationship you engage in places a certain divine obligation on you. God expects you to recognize and fulfill the responsibilities that come with the roles people play in your life. It is crucial to understand the nature of your relationships so you can offer the proper respect, reverence, and honour they deserve.

Our opening scripture clearly highlights some obligations we must discharge towards certain people. These are reverence or deep respect and honour. These are not optional gestures but spiritual dues. You are commanded to respect and honour specific individuals regardless of personal opinion or sentiment.

Romans 13: 1 shows us that leaders, those God has set in authority over you, must be respected and honoured. In your home, this applies to your parents. In the church, this applies to your pastors and spiritual leaders.

In fact, every structure of authority that governs your life demands this response from you. Honour and respect are debts you owe according to God’s word. Failing to pay this spiritual debt is disobedience.

Do not dishonour or disrespect those to whom God says honour is due. Fulfill your obligation. Pay what you owe.

Read: 1 Peter 2:17 “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor.”

Prayer: Lord, help me to honour and respect everyone You have placed over my life. Amen.

THE NAME OF JESUS.

Acts 3:16
“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

The name of Jesus is a great weapon in the hands of the believer. It can be used for both constructive and destructive purpose. You can use the name to lay hold on God’s promises for your life and you can use the name to undo or rebuke any works of darkness organized against you.

Believers must know that the name of Jesus is more than a mere religious jargon. It is not also just a name like names people bear in life. It is a heavenly given name. It is a name that has defeated the enemy and is recognized in all the heavens. Philippians 2:9-10, says that “therefore God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…”

Anytime we mention the name of “Jesus” in faith, the power in the name stands for our cause. In Mark 16 the bible enumerates the things that can be accomplished through the name of Jesus. Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

These are awesome victories through the name. In the name, devils will be cast out, in the name there is security and protection, and in the name the sick can be healed.

You see, the power in the name gets things done for us. The sick gets healed, the lame walks, and the blind see.

Start declaring the name of Jesus in faith over all that concerns you and the power in the name will put things right.

Read: Acts 3:6-7 “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength”

Prayer: Father, I pray that at the usage of the name JESUS, miracles, signs and wonders will take place. In Jesus name, Amen!

RAISE YOUR STANDARD IN GIVING.

Proverbs 11:24
“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.”

Giving is not a minor aspect of the Christian life; it is a divine calling and an expression of your spiritual maturity. It is a ministry every believer must take seriously and rise to excel in. As Jesus said in Acts 20:35, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The Apostle Paul, writing to the Corinthian church, did not just commend their spiritual strengths. He challenged them to match their excellence in faith, speech, knowledge, and love with excellence in giving. See 2 Corinthians 8:7 “But since you excel in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you, see that you also excel in this grace of giving”

Today, much of the Church is struggling financially because believers are not fully committed to the ministry of giving. In many congregations, giving is met with resistance. People must be pleaded with before they give anything. This should not be the case for those who truly understand the heart of God.

When you give, you are not just helping your local church. You are fueling the advancement of the gospel, rescuing souls from darkness, and laying up treasures in Heaven. Your tithes, your offerings, and your financial support are not religious routines. They are acts of love, faith, and kingdom partnership.

Do not wait to be pushed. Do not give sparingly or carelessly. Raise your standard in giving. Let it reflect your faith, your love, and your covenant with God.

Read: Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Prayer: Lord, help me rise above average in my giving.

CHOOSE WISDOM, NOT REGRET.

Proverbs 9:9
“Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.”

Life teaches us through two main routes: the wise way or the hard way

To learn the wise way means embracing proven wisdom, following sound instruction, and taking direction from those who have walked the road before you. It is the path of humility, guidance, and preserved dignity.

The hard way however is the path of resistance to instruction. It is marked by pain, regret, and unnecessary scars—outcomes that could have been avoided by simply listening to godly counsel. Sadly many insist on learning the hard way. They ignore sound advice only to end up bruised and broken by life’s consequences. This is not God’s will for you.

You see, no matter how gifted or experienced you are, ignoring instruction can trap you in cycles of avoidable hardship. Wisdom is not about age or status. It is about teachability.

Know that, it is far better to learn by revelation than by regret. You don’t need to fall into sin and its consequences before you understand holiness. You don’t need to crash before you learn how to drive wisely. Why lose your joy, peace, and even your future over what could have been avoided by simply heeding instruction?

If there is anything worth mastering in life, let it be the art of listening. Listening to God, to godly leaders, to the wisdom of Scripture. Don’t let pride or self-reliance rob you of a graceful journey.

Break free from the deception that you know it all. The Word of God says “Lean not on your own understanding.” Wisdom is calling. Answer early. Let it lead you into peace and preservation.

Read: Proverbs 22:3 “A sensible person sees danger and takes cover, but the inexperienced keep going and are punished”

Prayer: Lord give me a heart that listens and follows wisdom so I may walk in peace and avoid needless pain.

GOD EMPOWERS YOU TO LIVE FOR HIM.

Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Every believer has been divinely equipped to live a life that honors God. You are not powerless or unequipped. As a believer you’ve been given both the desire and the ability to do God’s will. The Amplified Bible puts it beautifully: “For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)

Know that “God is effectively at work in you.” That is the source of your victory. That’s the reason you can fulfill your calling and purpose. There is supernatural strength at work inside you. Contrary to what some say, the Christian life isn’t meant to be a heavy burden. It only feels that way when you try to live it by your own strength.

Don’t try to live the Christian life on your natural strength. Frustration sets in when we take the reins and attempt to live godly lives without relying on God’s power.

God will never ask you to do what He hasn’t already empowered you to accomplish. If He expects you to walk in His will, He has already placed within you the grace and strength to do it. That’s why the word says “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

You see, everything you need to live a godly life has already been supplied. Don’t be swayed by opinions that make Christianity seem like an impossible task. Lift your eyes to Jesus. Lean on Him. You’ll discover the joy of walking in His will every day.

Read: 2 Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”

Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me the strength and desire to walk in Your will daily.

EXCELLENCE REWARDS.

1 Samuel 16:17-18
“Saul told his servants, Find me a man who plays well and bring him to me. One of the young men said, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who plays skillfully, a valiant man, a man of war, prudent in speech and eloquent, an attractive person; and the Lord is with him.”

Doing things in life, is not the same as doing things well or with excellence. If you want to be relevant or significant in life, then you must distinguish yourself by doing things with excellence. This can be in every field of endeavour- whether ministry, family life, career, education, etc.

You see, it is not enough to know how to work at something. You must build the capacity to do things with excellence. This is what brought David the recognition in his days. He distinguished himself as a harp player, and with good communication skills.

When people work with excellence, their output is with great impact.

As you journey in life, pay the price to do things with excellence. Yes, it takes great wisdom and knowledge, constant practice, willingness to accept correction on how do things, diligence and discipline. Nonetheless, it rewards.

Never compromise excellence in whatever you do. It will bring you honour and recognition.

Read: Proverbs 22:29 “And as for those who are skilled in their work, they will be recognized and invited to serve kings rather than regular folk.”

Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to add excellence to my endeavors. Amen

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Pray without ceasing”.

Life is spiritual. Limiting life to the natural or the senses will only lead to challenges and unfulfilled divine purposes. This is why the call to pray always must be prioritised.

You see, PRAYER HELPS US TO DEAL WITH THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION OF LIFE. Through prayer we are able to align our spirit to God’s will and purpose, and we are also able to receive supernatural knowledge about current and future happenings. Prayer again helps us to bring God’s influence to intercept demonic activities and manipulations against us.

The call to pray always or without ceasing, is not new paradigm to the faith. Jesus did so during His earthly life (Mark 1:35).

You see, praying always will make you maintain a constant awareness of God’s presence and a readiness to communicate with Him throughout your daily life.

As a Christian, let prayer be integrated into every aspect of your life. Thus, pray in the Spirit on all occasions.

Never wait till things go haywire before you resort to prayer. Pray before you get into doing important decisions. Pray about that career, pray about that travelling, pray about that marriage or relationship. Pray! Don’t wait for situations to inconvenience you to pray since most prayers in such moments may be with anxiety.

Pray now! Prayer is work, but pray. Prayer is tough, but pray. Don’t jeopardise your prayer life less your life will be in joerpady.
Pray always, and you will save yourself from unwanted happenings.

Read: Ephesians 6:18 “Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit’s wishes. Plead with him, reminding him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.” (TLB)

Prayer: Lord, I pray for the strength to pray all the time.

SING UNTO THE LORD.

Psalm 13:6
“I will sing unto the LORD, because He hath dealt bountifully with me.’

Singing unto the Lord must not be limited to praise and worship sessions in a Church service. As a Christian, you must develop that personal attitude of singing unto the Lord as you go about your daily affairs.

You see, singing unto the Lord is one way by which you can express your thanksgiving, love and honour to the Lord.

The psalmist in our opening text reveals that we must sing unto the Lord because He has dealt with us well.

You see, despite all the challenges and uncertainties in life, the Lord always give you the opportunity to be alive day after day. This is enough to “SING UNTO THE LORD”.

Don’t wait for something spectacular to happen to you before you appreciate the Lord. Always sing unto His holy name.

Through all the changing scenes of life, SING UNTO THE LORD. Remember, being kept in prison didn’t stop Paul and Silas to sing unto the Lord. Don’t let anything hinder your praise.

As you praise God, He will raise you up.

Read: Acts 16:25 “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them.”

Prayer: Lord, thank you for all you have done for me. I praise your Holy Name.

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.

1 Timothy 6:12
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

Every believer has a fight to face. It is not a physical fight or a battle with weapons. It is a spiritual fight. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The Christian’s battle is spiritual, a fight against the strategies and schemes of the enemy. The Bible calls it a “good fight” because we fight from a place of victory through Christ. However, if you do not rise with the Word and take your stand, many areas of your life will remain under siege.

Your fight of faith is what secures the promises of God in your life. Through persistent prayer, unwavering belief, and bold confessions of God’s Word, you lay hold of what God has already declared as yours. Faith becomes your weapon, and you must not allow fear or doubt to rob you of your inheritance.

Know that, the bible says the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but you are not without help. James 4:7 declares, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” You must boldly declare God’s Word over your life and stand against every work of darkness. Don’t respond with fear or tears where faith and authority are required. Tears don’t win battles, faith does.

In this good fight of faith, take your stand in the name of Jesus. Resist every evil agenda and boldly declare God’s promises over your life until they manifest.

Read: Psalm 144:1 “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to stand firm in faith and claim every promise you have made concerning my life.

ALLOW THE WORD TO WORK IN YOUR LIFE.

Hebrews 4:2
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”

The power of God’s Word is undeniable. Scripture reveals that God not only created the world by His Word but also sustains all things through it. Hebrews 1:3 says, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
Clearly, excellence and power are inherent attributes of the Word of God.

God’s Word is never powerless; it is always released with intent and purpose. Isaiah 55:11 declares, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Yet, for the Word to yield fruit in your life, you must believe and receive it. This means embracing the direction it gives and adjusting your life accordingly. The Word only benefits you when you let it guide your choices. It requires your agreement, your submission, and your obedience to lead you into God’s best.

You must actively apply the Word. Merely quoting Scripture without living it won’t change your life. Real transformation comes when you know, understand, and act on the Word. That is when faith is mixed with what you’ve heard.

Know that, in today’s world, you may be labeled extreme or unrealistic for taking God’s Word as your final authority. But when opinions of men clash with divine truth, always side with the Word. The word will work for you.

Be the believer who places God’s Word above everything else. That is the sure way to see its power at work in your life.

Read: Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that your word makes me fruitful in all things. Amen
